Why work so hard at trying to humanize these people?  Why can't these media outlets try to interview the people who are actually suffering because of Trump's awful presidency?  The elderly and young people of color, LGBT, etc. whose lives are being harmed/lost to racist aggression? The people who feel more marginalized than ever after Trump took office.

News outlets like NBC, The Times and even NPR are helping to spread that white male victimization narrative that the likes of Trump and Kavanaugh have capitalized on.

Because the media is made up overwhelmingly of white people and they use these pieces as a way of justifying the behavior of their friends and family. A lot of them have to sit at the table on Thanksgiving with people just like this so by default they try to humanize them. They have to find a way to excuse the fact that Aunt Becky called the cops on a black kid at the playground.

Someone should do a study and see if there is a causal effect of these stories and ratings decline on these networks. I'm just unsure of how these types of stories actually boost ratings when network news has been on a continual slide downward.

Or they could be squabbling over the fact that both are complicit in a white house that has done immeasurable damage and helped create a hellscape for the entire country and perhaps, many parts of the world. And they are each, (as well as the man they support) not worth one damn.

With each passing day, I get less confident that the midterms will restore some sense of sanity in this country. Between voter suppression tactics in Georgia and the lack of interest by some folks in voting, I'm starting think things are gonna get even worse before they get better. It's saddening.

A message for Trump from the people of Missoula, Montana, location of one of his rallies.

So true.

This ad has been airing on the radio in Arkansas' 2nd Congressional district. Listen to it, because it is horrible.

 I just can't believe that ad is actually hitting our airwaves. It really manages to be quite the amalgam of racist, sexist nonsense. I'm not quite sure which of several groups should be the most insulted.

It's sort of like what someone said about Trump and (Kan)Ye together in the WH (and I'm paraphrasing): it's rare when a photo can offend black Americans and white supremacists at the same time.
