Because as it stands now there is more vile dirt on Kavanaugh coming out by the hour - it's endless, I'm kind of shocked. Easier to use him as a martyr to the right wing base than to try and confirm him. IMO if they still don't have the votes after his enraged Trumpian showstopper on Thursday, they'll never get them. And really, the stuff that I've read (and IDK, it's been ten minutes, so there's probably a bunch more that I haven't read) isn't bad in and of itself. But Kav MADE it bad, or worse, when he chose to lie about, mislead everyone and/or cover up everything. If he had just copped to the assaults while admitting everything else was accurate, this might have blown over for him. If F&F actually had the balls to criticize Trump, then yeah, I'd say so. No one has the power to sway Trump's opinion about anyone or anything EXCEPT Faux News...which is just so [!@#$%^&*] sad.
