Stop trying to tell people the GOP are not racist. Here are their followers. They also marched on a church last night yelling nazi epitaphs at the congregation. No doubt none of these so called "protesters" were tear gassed like BLM activitists. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/charlottesville-readies-for-a-white-nationalist-rally-on-saturday/2017/08/10/cff4786e-7c49-11e7-83c7-5bd5460f0d7e_story.html?tid=ss_tw&utm_term=.e2b75212de0d

From the article:

The removal of the monuments, [Neo-Nazi Richard Spencer] said, is 'a metaphor for white dispossession and the erasure of our history and culture and identity.'

Get it through your head, Mr. Spencer (and everyone who agrees with him): you HAVE no history.  You HAVE no culture.  You have NO IDENTITY.  All you have is a legacy of subjugating other, non-white persons, through means both physical and psychological, in order to survive and assert superiority over the rest of the world.  Without that, you would've been extinguished from this planet long ago.

I've thought for awhile it's probably time for us to join Germany in having laws against glorifying Nazis, but I can't see it happening any time soon.

Too many folks, and groups like the ACLU, would argue that it violates the First Amendment.

Besides, I'm not sure I would want to go down that particular road.  To me, the best way to combat the glorification of any form of racism is not through legislation but through education.  Simply put, we must teach our young boys and girls, as soon as possible, Not. To hate.

Yes, I know, it's pie-in-the-sky thinking.  Just call me King Arthur, lol.

He's also started threatening military action against Venezuela. Mueller must've gotten hold of the taxes and money trail.

Yet the media loved to propogate the lie that there was no difference between the two Presidential candidates.

I'll bet when Venezuelans heard his threats, they said, collectively, "How da [!@#$%^&*] we get into this!?"

Say what you will about ol' Hill -- and I have said and believed plenty -- but I believe, with every fiber of my being, that we would not be right now on the precipice of nuclear war (and quite possibly, the total annihilation of life as we know it) if this woman were behind that desk in the Oval Office.

If people like THOSE people ever faced actual oppression, they'd scream and beg for their lives like scantily-clad sorority girls in slasher movies.

Can we send them to California to work those fields for the farmers who need field workers? I doubt any of them have done a decent lick of work in their life or have had to work for a damn thing.

And they would be right BUT it's time to realize that the Founders never could've imagined a world with social media just like they never could've imagined guns that could shoot multiple rounds per minute. Twitter is to the First Amendment what the AR-15 is to the Second.

As an aside, I look at those photos and wonder if our trolls are in them.

Well, maybe Thomas Jefferson could have imagined a world with social media.  After all, he WAS a pretty progressive-thinking dude. ;)

It's like what a former History professor of mine once said: "If the Founders were able, somehow, to travel through time to today [late-20th century America], they'd be shocked to see the nation they had created has lasted THIS long."

Are you kidding?  To be in those photos, it would mean leaving the safety of their parents' basements.

So No. 45 finally tweeted in response to what's taking place in Charlottesville and yet again it proves he's a master at putting words together to unite the nation <sarcasm>.....:huh:

Exactly. The world has changed more than anyone could have imagined. I bet the Founders couldn't imagine Nazi's killing upwards of 11 million people with hate being the root cause. I certainly agree with Khan that this is a 1st amendment issue, but I don't see the constitution as a sacred immutable text. Germany seems pretty free to me and they don't let people run around giving Nazi salutes and flying the Nazi flag.  I don't see why we aren't at least talking about the wisdom of letting people run around venerating an enemy flag (Nazi or confederate) that inspires fear in a good portion of our population.

Although what I'm talking about is akin to advocating for a $15 federal minimum wage. It's pie in the sky for the foreseeable future.

As a Jew watching this play out I am officially DONE discussing the economic class struggle and how it is the root of our problems.

^ Absolutely.  Economic struggles are no excuse for allowing this hate to take hold.  People knew what they were voting for with 45. He didn't even try to hide it.
