That’s strange, it was posted only today too. They basically went into an ethnically-diverse and lower-income community in the Bronx (a historically Democratic stronghold). Trump apparently did a lot of outreach there and had significant voting gains there vs. the previous elections.

Anyway, most people said Trump spoke about the issues they cared about (economy, inflation, illegal migration). That, and coupled with him visiting the area/doing outreach there was enough for them to switch and vote for him. It’s fascinating how these people that Trump likely has no regard for in reality were so willing to switch party lines and vote for him in this election.

I think something that certain Democratic consultants or activists were hoping on is voters would simultaneously want to uphold abortion rights and vote for the party. Many decided to have their cake and eat it too by supporting Trump and believing his lies that it was a state issue and he was somehow pro-choice.

I remember years ago saying on here that from my outside perspective the US media seemed liberal to me. I was so wrong and naive. On behalf of Australia, I apologise for the Murdochs. I blame them for so much of this and for our troubles here.

Also, I'm going to be honest- I feel no sympathy for the Jewish men in the US who voted for Trump and are now getting all kinds of abuse and racism from Trump supporters. Some of the dumbest pick mes on Earth. I was happy to see that Jewish women overwhelmingly voted for Harris. I hated seeing the far left trying to isolate and drive Jewish people out of leftist spaces (an issue here too).

The Palestinian supporters who didn't vote and are now crying over Trump are also looking real stupid. He told them exactly what his Gaza plans were and they ignored him. My cousin in Israel has been saying that the far right there is practically giddy that he won because they know they can totally wipe out Gaza. Just totally played themselves.

It's sad to say but the next democratic nominee has to be straight and male. I've got two in mind right now, no matter what their skeletons are: Gavin Newsom and Hakeem Jeffries.  Two straight good looking males.  I would love to one day see a gay person or a woman become President, but there's a ton of people who don't, unfortunately.

What a horrific thought. There are so many children in that awful place. I do think there are Israelis who would try to stop this even now, but I'm not sure they can reign in BiBi anymore than our left can control Trump.

As for American Jewish women, I'm not sure I've met a group of people more dedicated to social justice for everyone. Even the day after 10/7, women were commenting to me how much they hoped the innocent people in Gaza would be spared. I'm just not built like that. It takes me a lot longer to see the bigger picture.

I feel for the innocent citizens in Gaza. But anyone pro-Palestine in this country or any minority who sat this one out or voted for Trump (often for the same reasons as Latinos and white working class males, apparently) have bought and paid for exactly what they will get. Take a good look.

And I am as progressive as the next person, but there needs to be a real hard line going forward about how we let academic language and concepts dictate how we talk about policy or issues. I'm also beyond done with the casual antisemitism of the far left (which predates the latest Palestinian crisis, to be clear) being coddled and tolerated. Jews showed up.

No way am I ever putting up another Black person to be the Democratic nominee in this country.  I might feel differently down the road, but right now, I feel like my people have been thrown to the wolves enough.

And I still think a gay man stands a better chance of becoming president than a woman.  (Pete Buttigieg, come on down!)

    • I love this more than any theory I've seen yet
    • I wonder what Dana and Hayley's first scene will be like. Dana has fear/contempt for Bill, but I can imagine Hayley being curious to meet her.
    • Daphne was just FANTASTIC today. I know people wanted histronics and it may still come but she was pitch perfect today. As much as I like Maurice she's gonna need someone just as strong now and it's just not him
    • Today's episode was one of my favorites so far! TT's Anita standing up to Dana was perfect. I was surprised with how restrained Dani was, in some scenes, I forgot she was there. The ending "Amazing Grace" montage was brilliant. I like how Vernon's reason complements Anita's emotion. DD was terrific portraying her mixed sense of betrayal and humiliation. I liked her comment about how she condescended to Dani after her breakup with Bill, unaware that she was also married to a cheater. I am going to miss MJ as Ted and I don't agree with the criticisms of his acting. His conduct on social media is a different story. I agree that BC's Martin has come into his own. He and MM have also discovered some chemistry which allows them portray a believable couple. Eva is the most empathetic character for me. Seeing get locked out of the apartment was heartbreaking. I also liked that the writing for Kat has been much more nuanced than one might have expected just weeks ago. I liked the expression on Kat's face at the end when she was embracing Nicole. Kat has probably never seen her calm, poised mother so upset. CM's face portrayed a sense of discomfort now that the carer/child roles have been somewhat reversed. I believe now more than ever that Kat is Ted and Dana's child. Eva is Ted and Nicole's child. Dana switched them as insurance - if Bill came after her to take or harm Eva, Dana would reveal that Eva was actually a Dupree, giving her some protection. She would also be secure in the fact that her birth daughter Kat was ensconced in the privilege and security of the Dupree family. The way Dana raised Eva - "weaponizing" her instead of nurturing her as a loving mother - also aligns with this theory.
    • @Paul Raven - thanks for reviewing the content for accuracy.  You know, the nice thing about AI is that you can teach it things, so I am having it review the classic AMC Tumblr to increase its accuracy.
    • If you begin where they suggested (#6077), it's VERY easy to follow because it's right at the beginning of a new storyline.   Another story is winding down, but it's fairly easy to catch on. The central characters in both stories (the one that's ending & the one that's beginning) are members of the Madison family.  The Madisons have recently moved from Hollywood to Monticello.  The father (Owen Madison) is an ex-movie producer.  The mother (Nola Patterson Madison) is a washed-up, alcoholic actress who can no longer get a part in a film.  Owen has a daughter named Paige Madison, and Nola has a son named Brian Madison.  The Madison family left Hollywood primarily because the daughter (Paige) had gotten involved with a group of "renegade" young political activists who stole some guns to furnish to South American revolutionaries.  Paige Madison is being targeted for assassination by various members of the group (known as "the Tobias gang").  As a result, Paige has a full-time body guard, a former Monticello policeman who resigned from the police force because he accidentally shot & killed a 14-year-old boy who was armed with a cap pistol.  As the new plot (a movie called "Mansion of the Damned") takes shape,  the existing plot about Paige, the assassins, and the bodyguard comes to a conclusion.  The other characters on the show are all playing supporting roles to these storylines, and it'll be easy to figure out who they are and how they come into play.
