IOW, Kamala Harris decided to "let Kamala be Kamala."  (I agree, good for her, lol).

Notice who is scheduled to speak at the DNC: Joe and Jill Biden, Barack and Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton*, Jason Carter, 2nd Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, Nancy Pelosi, Pete Buttigieg, Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries.  True leaders and visionaries from within the Democratic Party, and not bunch of no-name hacks and grade-Z "celebrities" like what we witnessed at the RNC.

(*What, no Hillary, too, lol?)

My impression is that Hillary and Bill speak on separate nights because they are each their own politcal personas in the party.  Or maybe a better way to phrase it is that Bill is there as one of the former Presidents, and Hillary is there as a former Senator and former Secretary of State who almost became President.

In contrast, Jill and Joe Biden speak on same night as one another, and Michelle and Barack Obama speak on same night as one another.

Hillary is speaking Monday. Bill is speaking Wednesday.

I read an article a few days ago about them trying to avoid celebrities after having so many at the 2016 DNC. Probably not a bad idea. (sorry, Katy Perry)

Thanks.

In other circumstances I think they would have had a point about "weird," as it could have been run into the ground, but the GOP responded so defensively and handled the criticisms so poorly, it worked out in the end.

Let's all be ready for the media to breathlessly hype up any and all protest coverage tomorrow. They badly need something to dent the Dem momentum and the protestors at the DNC are their best shot. I don't think we're going to see anything like '68 out there tbh, I'm not particularly concerned but I do know they will overhype small or Very Online stuff and act like it's huge when it most likely won't be to the general public. That includes listening to professional online dead-enders or contrarians who don't exactly have their fingers on the pulse.

I am going to be obsessed with the convention! I think it's going to be a joyous time and I expect Kamala will come out of it with a considerable new bump that may solidify what's already there. I don't think you should have fear of watching it. For me it's more about discerning what is signal and what is noise - the media can try to put a damper on the week, but I don't think they're going to be that successful when all is said and done.

I particularly love Kamala Harris' "We're still the underdog" comment.  She knows just as much as we do that we cannot afford to be complacent no matter what the polls might say.
