According to the Times it is one of the largest defamation settlements in history.

I'm just glad it means the end to Giuliani's career as a political commentator.

But, as always, it was never about informing the masses, or advancing a political cause, it was just about ratings

It does suck and Fox News knew if those hogs took the stand and if there were weeks long debates, with text messages, emails, phone calls, etc. deliberated, it would've exposed the public to all their deplorable actions and deliberate lying, and it would chip away at their viewer base their viewers' faith in them. And to top it off, they don't even have to issue an on-air admission of guilt.

I've been thinking about the lack of admission of guilt in the Dominion case and I've come to agree with their decision on a couple of levels.

A. Even if Dominion approved of the wording, we all know that the delivery would be weak.

B. Because Fox News won't cover it, audiences are forced to watch other channels, thus lowering Fox's ratings which is the true punishment.

C. There's no way that Fox News wouldn't frame itself as the victim of another entity trying to impinge on its first amendment rights.

D. Fox News admitting that they lied in order to pander to their audience will do nothing to sway their support because they still push the bigger lie that culture war issues matter more than civil rights.

So, I think the admission of guilt is best left to MSNBC, CNN, and NYT in their scathing critiques of Fox management.

This is what everyone knew would happen, and it's likely going to expand even further (supposedly moving to private schools next). Much of the power broker media will still turn a blind eye, as they have a vested interest in their hero, and they have nothing but contempt for lgbt people anyway. I don't want to imagine what Florida, or most other states, will be like in a few years.

I have noticed some of Trump's flacks, like Grennell and Trump Jr, speaking out against some of the obvious gay-baiting and trans-bashing (even as Trump himself says something else entirely, as shown in his latest pandering to transphobia in his NRA speech), as the sassy sloth's flacks burrow further down. This isn't to praise the Trump people - they don't mean anything they're saying, and they're not even saying much - but more to show that the pig has committed himself so feverishly to spreading hate and torment that he has managed to make Trump, who has a 4-year record of far right victories, look like a centrist in comparison.

DeSantis is already being (let's just say it) cucked by Trump. That marks him for death inside the right. His star is already falling in the eyes of elite media and it won't last another five years, if it even lasts to the general. FL will absolutely suffer in the meantime - as will other states - but the grim consolation is knowing he won't survive, and the party will suffer too.

    • I think Bill covered for Martin's crime..
    • It's so jarring seeing the changeover from Sherry Mathis to Louan Gideon.  The vibe, mannerisms, and overall personality of Liza changes instantly. The chemistry Sherry has with both David F and Joe Lambie is gone the second the recast happens.  I wonder how viewers took the news of the recast since you didn't have time in between airings before the change happened. Quinn/Sarah... One overacts (Quinn) and one under acts (Sarah). Wendy of 1985 is a good mix of the 1982 sweet Wendy and the 1983/84 vixenish Wendy.
    • Oups!! I guess when i was doing the editing, i left a part of 3169, too (RTL Lounge airs 2 episodes per day back to back). Sorry about that ! Tonight i ll try to record 3171-3172. If i m not mistaken 3172 is missing from YouTube.

    • I would put Felicia in the 'small dose' auntie category because she means well, but comes on too strongly at times.  In small doses, she would be a blast to hang out with.. but in anything larger than a small... she would be exhausting. I tend to prefer lower key people than people that are always 'on' all the time.  Those people can veer off into energy vampire status pretty quickly.
    • I didn't like the Harry story, but Nazar did have a great introduction. He was probably the highlight of last year.  Now that you mention it, I guess the truly dire stories (Nicole, Harper/Drew/Phil, Nicole) didn't start until summer.

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
