I don't know if this belongs here, but in the UK, the Queen is under "medical supervision." This was announced officially, and formally, to parliament this morning, which suggests the seriousness of the situation. Charles, Anne, William, the Wessexes, the Sussexes, etc., are travelling to Scotland.

LMAO! I would have left off the "double-dog dare" reply as I haven't heard that term in forever, but this is Rick Wilson's reply on Twitter when the orange orangutan posted on Truth Social that he was going to sue The Lincoln Project:

Here's The Lincoln Project ad that the orange orangutan is pissed about:

Sure enough wagons are already circling in the replies, blaming anti-Semitism. New York politicians are too scared to address these issues because they see Hasidic Jews as a key voting bloc. I remember a lot of talk about all the enabling from Bill de Blasio.

I'm not sure how much stock I put in this as the polls are already inching back their way and the media is constantly working for a landslide, but it's still interesting to see the desperate spin (especially after a year or more of the smart set insisting all Republicans needed to run on was gas prices and inflation):

Hope not, but there are a LOT of dumb voters out there.

On another note, Malignant Mango is in DC...and quiet about it. Some are speculating on Twitter he is going to Walter Reed.

As someone said there, if a colonoscopy is involved, I hope it doesn't poke the many GQP heads up his fat ass in their eye in the process...

If NOT Walter Reed, people are still guessing.

I mean, are we surprised about all that with Hasidic schools? I can't tell you how many former Hasidic Jews I've known in my life who made it to adulthood and basically knew nothing outside of the Talmud and could only speak Yiddish. It's bad. I attended Hebrew school growing up and every once in a while there'd be a former Hasidic kid whose family had left and again, they basically had no education or knowledge of anything. I don't want to disparage other Jewish people and how they chose to live and practice but I think we can all agree there are some severe issues with Hasidic Judaism that needs to be addressed.

If the GOP cannot talk about inflation, then I guess they'll have to induce some more fear-mongering like magical caravans that are suddently coming towards the border. Perhaps Senator Ted Cruz can show the American people the evidence like an old T-shirt that was snagged by the limbs of a tree along the river.

Lindsey Graham is now trying to push through an abortion ban, framed as "late term trying to stop fetal pain" or whatever the hell the jargon is. The media is already helping him whitewash. I wonder how the GOP feels about this being such news overshadowing their latest tantruming over inflation.

It's like Lindsey wants them to stay in the minority. The WH and Dems have wisely pounced.

The Beltway would love to find a way to nuance this because they don't want to admit that their good friends in the GOP or who their families vote for would actually do this for real, but it's not going to fly. This is the line that will be taken and that's why McConnell is already starting to distance himself.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
    • French fan summary Rusty took over Simon's job at Lewis Trucking after Simon transferred to Lewis Oil's North Carolina office to live near Jessie and Calla. I doubt they would bother following up a story for offscreen characters eg marriage and a baby.
    • I suspected that the performance with the reveal was the reason why the Ted actor got the axe and it looks like I was right. He wasn't really good at conveying what needed to be conveyed in those scenes. Claybon is at least slowly improving (but I agree that he still needs to work on his line delivery), but I do wonder what will happen when his big reveal is coming up.
    • I've already asked this before, recently, but can anyone who watched those years more closely tell me if anything said about Jessie and Simon at the end of their profiles is accurate (about them marrying, naming a baby after Brandon/Lujack, etc.)?
