Say what you will about my fellow Black bruthas and sistahs, but when there's a job to be done, like getting Donald Trump's crazy, orange ass out of the WH (and off the streets), we Get It. Done.

 

But, by all means, MSM, let's stop and pray for the WWC.

Shout out to all the people who claimed that the Biden/Harris ticket couldn't win, especially any red states, who are now pretending otherwise.

Also special mention to those who muttered soto voce that a Black woman, especially Harris, would be a drag on the ticket, when the last winning ticket for the Democrats featured a Black person on the ticket.

 

Seriously, as a Black woman in of Jamaican heritage, I am brimming with pride today.

That. Is. All.

A lot of Black worked quietly and stealthily, from grassroots organizations, to volunteers bringing voter to the polls or answering questions about the absentee ballot process to helping get people registered to encouraging and reminding family and friends to get their absentee ballots in early. It had to be done--anything to try to stop the carnage from this virus and this economic fallout on communities that have been suffering. There was really no other choice.

Black voters and candidates were actively patronized, condescended to, and outright attacked in myriad ways from both the left and the right over the whole process. Even now the media is more focused on trying to convince people that black voters supported Trump than on the reality that their votes delivered this victory. It's unfortunate how many people only care about narratives and about confirming their own racist beliefs.

      The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.

      I tried following the news in Los Angeles at https://laist.com (independent public radio and news) They had up-to-the minute accurate info during the wildfires in January. There's no video, no impact to my mind as to what's happening. Trying other outlets, to get the truth, but it's hard.

      That's a bit murky since that happened during a writers' strike. Assuming Kristen Marie had a 2-year contract she left about when her contract would have expired and Sharlene and Josie showed up right before that. Lemay was officially credited as HW from September 1988 but it seems very probable that his anticipated tenure influenced events that happened during the strike which started in April.
