Admittedly, I have yet to read this article- I generally don't read Salon articles but saw this tweeted out on social media and knew that we've been debating this issue in this thread for months so I am wondering whether people have seen/read this article yet?

The title certainly seems intriguing.

Stop blaming “identity politics”: With white liberals like these, who needs the right wing?

Yikes. I had forgotten POTUS had the power to do that - for some reason I thought they had to stick to the terms.  Maybe I thought that because some like Hoover held on so long. I guess it's pretty rare though. Comey has proven to be so compromised I can't be as upset as I possibly should as I can't even begin to guess who he'll pick. I don't even want to know.

I hope sandbagging Hillary in the name of image and career was worth it!

Nixon time.

Only way that is ever happening is if Dems regain seats. If the GOP remains in power, they'll cover. This isn't the GOP of 1972.

This is why I don't feel sad he was fired. I still say he released the "info" he did about Hillary just so she would lose the election. I never thought it was a coincidence, the timing of it.

So Macron won 66% of the vote and Le Pen 33%. That is 33% - 8% more than pre election polling showed

Also remember Merkels' party also won convincingly in a regional election on Sunday also

I'm thrilled France rejected the crazy, but at the same time 33% of voters agreed with Le Pen.  That's not insignificant. I have to admit I wasn't paying attention to how much of a hold the far right was getting in the west until Trump started gaining ground in the Republican primary.  Of course, I had heard the rumblings from occasional articles, but I didn't get it until these nutjobs started coming closer than they ever should have to gaining power.

Not only do I not feel sad, I'm thrilled.  He's getting what he deserves, imo. Then again, now we have to fear who comes next, so I guess I shouldn't be too happy.

I'd be surprised if McConnell would let that happen.
