But, of course, the breathtaking scenes were Kay and Jill. Kudos to Walton for playing every reactive beat, with moist eyes, and mostly love. And kudos to Jeanne for playing what I felt was REAL truth about aging. I am genuinely worried, because they are writing Kay's situation with a measure of authenticity. The episodic nature of what she is playing smacks of either multi-infarct dementa or TIAs (that's what they said after "Out of the Ashes")...and if she is not getting treated for the underlying cardiovascular issues (she already had a major stroke!) there could be real and permanent damage. I am not ready to let Jeanne go...I want her to play till she drops...so I hope this is not where we are headed.

Brilliant scenes, I agree. Walton has been without good beats to play since David was exposed as Ji Min's killer...so it's good to see her have something else to play with and of course she hits it out of the park.

When it comes to Kay's health:

I am thinking that, perhaps, all of the dementia/TIA like behavior is actually Marge screwing up her lines and history of Kay's life...either that...or Jeanne is really ready to leave and Marge is simply her exit storyline...which would be horrible because I want her to play till she drops, there is a Facebook group entitled 'Katherine Chancellor is not allowed to leave Y&R until she's dead'...that's how I feel about it, Jeanne IS Y&R

OR

This might be it...

Katherine is aging and the scenes we are seeing are really her, she's just getting older, as seniors do and these scenes are supposed to touch us as the audience, they're reflective...then...Gloria or Jack encounters Marge and hires her to impersonate a Katherine who has truly lost her grip on reality and is in the throws of dementia so that they can overrun Jabot

Mike Denney directed tomorrow's US episode, for all of you who love him and want to know.

Mike was awesome again. Loved the directing for Adam/Jack scenes. Keep an eye for that. ;)

Jack channeling Victor Newman was so awesome. It was funny yet riveting. Peter Bergman rocked those scenes. I suspect it was Janice Ferri Esser (and not Sandra W, the other SW) who wrote Jack's Victor dialogue.

Dude, now that Colleen has been pretty much rejected by every dude what are they going to do with her? Vow of silence at a convent?

Now that Colleen is the Jabot model they should have her stalked by a crazed fan or something. TS had a stalker storyline on H&A and she nailed the material.

Yes, I know they did that exact same storyline with Victoria but what storyline isn't a repeat these days?

Those were the BEST scenes of the show. But I wasn't totally sold on the voice over lol.

I'm actually enjoying some of the younger cast and their storylines. I love Cane & Chloe together and I too, saw the spark between them. Although, when he finds out (after he falls for her, I'm sure) that kid is not his, it will be ugly!

I'm also loving Jack with Adam (love CE) and then Jack with NuBilly is just amazing. The character of Billy, and of course it's due to Billy Miller's stellar acting skills, reminds me so much of a young Jack. CE, EH, MG, AF, DG and of course BM have so much charisma unlike some of the younger cast (TS, CK). For instance, in the scene where Colleen heard Daniel admitting to still loving Amber, this inept actress showed no emotion at all. If they were trying to make me feel sorry for the once intelligent Colleen now being so stupid as to believe that Daniel was over Amber, it didn't work! What happened to the intelligent focused Colleen? Did all of the intelligence leave with Adrianne Leon? God, I miss her portrayal of this once likable character.

Billy Miller reminds me of a young Jack Abbott indeed, but rather Terry Lester's Jack Abbott. From what I've seen in clips, these two are very similar.

I very much agree with this post.

You know, we have heard a lot of anti-Beall sentiment. I see that the transcript excerpt below doesn't do justice to this luminous scene....a lot of it was in their eyes, faces, music, and even the slightly stooped posture of Kay as she seemed to require some effort to get up her staircase. Still, this was the terrific scene:

Jill: Mom, just for one second, just one second, please, forget about the company and my ambition and our whole history, if you can. Esther and I are really worried about you.

Kay: Well, Esther lives to be obsessed.

Jill: No, no, no, no, no. Esther said you went to the doctor. That means you're worried, too. I really need to know that you're okay, and if you're not, we'll fix it, all right? It's no big deal. We'll fix it, and then you can go back to second-guessing me and mocking my decisions just like always.

Kay: Well, I guess I did jump down your throat, didn't I?

Jill: Well, people do that when they're scared.

Kay: Being pigheaded and cranky?

Jill: Yeah. Did you really go to the doctor's?

Kay: Well, I didn't like what I heard, so, uh, I never said anything about it.

Kay: I'm not young anymore. (Laughs)

Jill: (Scoffs) that's it? There is no way that that man said that in a professional diagnosis.

Kay: Oh, don't kid yourself. That's--that's plenty. You know, inside, you feel 20. So what if your knees ache or--or your back? But your mind-- your mind is sharper than ever.

Jill: (Sighs)

Kay: Or that's what we'd like--like to think. (Clears throat) and he, uh, said, "you just get used to it." I resent that. I real-- (laughs) whoa. And, my dear, I-I resent it.

Jill: He doesn't want to run any tests or take any scans?

Kay: Nothing unusual, unfortunately.

Jill: (Sighs)

Kay: Father Time is proving he's the boss.

Kay: Bastard.

Jill: (Sighs)

Jill: (Sighs)

I might be in the minority, but reading that dialogue, it seems pretty good.

Looooved PB channeling Victor...That was hilarious.

I agree. Like he said, only someone who hates Victor as much as Jack does could channel him like that.

No, that is what I meant. The scene was pretty good.

Reading the transcript, I was no longer sure if it was the writing...or the acting :-).

Oh... Well, I think the scene worked. And this comes from someone who loathes Katherine, and hated her "Bastard!". Yeah, I know. A very big unpopular opinion.
