I LOVED Chloe handing Colleen her ass yesterday. I mean Chloe said EVERYTHING that was needed to be said to Colleen, regardless of the fact that Chloe schemed her way into Cane's life. I mean what kind of best friend worth her salt would first start dating her best friend's EX-HUSBAND and then take the job said best friend just quit.

I loved that part of yesterday's show too......

I'm so over Phick, their "romantic" and "love" scenes this week made me roll my eyes and cringe........

Edited To Add:I'm watching live right now and my Mom just asked me who was taking care of Summer while Phyllis was at Crimson Lights and it made me wonder the same thing........ :unsure:

Yesterday Nick mentioned that Summer was with Nikki for the night.

I wish they would have Nicholas and Sharon state that Cassie didn't die as a result of drunk driving. Cassie died because she was 14 and didn't know how to drive a car. The way they have Nick and Sharon's scenes today, if you weren't waching when Cassie died, you would think she died because of a drunk driver. Not true.

I agree. They make it seem like Cassie decided to ride with someone who was drinking rather than the fact that SHE tried to drive and ended up having an accident.

She didn't die because of drunk driving, but alcohol did play a part. What if Noah got too drunk to drive home and Eden decided to drive him home? Same situation because I'm sure she doesn't know how to drive either. And although drunk driving isn't exactly how she died, I could see how they would include that in what they want their son to stay away from.

But that's a different situation. Eden was drunk at the party. If Noah got into the car with her and they got into an accident, then yes, that would have been an accident due to driving under the influence. That's not the case though.

I disagree. Underage drinking played a huge role in her death. It was not the ONLY thing...Cassie's own recklessness was relevant...but it was huge.

Why? Daniel was drunk, causing her to drive. Also, Daniel was drunk, causing him not to stop her.

Y&R has always played Nick and Sharon as parents PERFECTLY, reacting as parents WOULD...from Noah's "still birth" (or whatever...they thought he died) till now. Every piece perfect. This latest arc in the Noah story is no exception.

SO GLAD that Rauch didn't f-uck with the lighting, in fact, I thought it was darker and more crisp today. Then again, it's only Rauch's first episode, who knows how the lighting and set design will look like in two weeks time. I also noticed a lot of the actors seemed more alert today - especially Michelle Stafford, Sharon Case, and Joshua Marrow. It must have something to do with the way Rauch produces his shows, since he likes to be present when all scenes are being taped.

I'm so ready for Nick and Phyllis to end, and Nick and Sharon were dead on as parents today.

I've noticed that the actress playing Eden is much better in comedic scenes and scenes where she doesn't have to be angry and emotional, but she still needs major work.

The dynamic between Billy and Chole is hilarious, and Amber and Cane are as clueless as ever.

Good show today, I see MAB didn't let Rauch make many of his usual changes, which is good. The pace seemed to be a lot better then it had been, and the stories seemed to flow better.

Sharon needs to STFU. :rolleyes: When Phylis wants to talk to her husband, let her talk to her husband you self-righteous bitch.

And those teens are sooooooooo lame lol.

Y&R: December 2025 Discussion Thread

Monday's show saw the grand launch of Abbott Communications-the company that is going to be a game changer in the media world!
And what a launch-a 1950's theme party-WTF??
It consisted of various characters in vaguely 1950's attire, with the reason being that TV was a game changer in the 50's as AC would be today. OK....
God forbid we had the cast dressed to the nines at a glamorous event.
The decor consisted of some old TV sets scattered around the Jazz lounge. Sally was fretting that maybe she should have got Pietro the Party Planner but Billy assured her she did a fantastic job.
Pietro must be laughing all the way to the bank as he buys a few ballooons and chintzy decorations from the local mini mall and has the likes of the Newmans paying top $$.
This launch consisted of a few cast members and a couple of extras. Of course, Phyllis has to be there, vamping around. Sally had a few vague words about content and delivery. No specifics as the whole thing is total Crapola. Although starting a company with no staff and offices is quite an achievement.
But wait , the dastardly Victor Newman has an evil plan hatching from his recliner rocker. If Eric Braeden isn't delivering every line from cue cards, he's sure doing a great job of making it seem so.
Sally's speech is so meaningless, all gathered would rather look at a message coming through on their finds.
Oh no the Abbott family are facing destruction at the hands of Victor. Stay Tuned.
Just really sad to see the downfall of this show.
But Josh Griffith deliberately writes this big business, big event nonsense that is embarrassing to watch.

This sums it up for me.
I'd be a hypocrite to act like Luke or Geary meant anything to me as a soap fan. "My" soaps were CBS, and by the time I started watching GH in the mid '90s, I felt no connection to Luke. That only hardened as time passed and Geary's clear disdain for the character and the character's foundations also hardened.
I don't blame Monty for everything soaps became, any more than I blame JER, but there's such a dividing line, made worse because the better soap years are almost entirely lost to us.
That Geary himself seemed to have such disgust for the L&L years informed much of his later work. I think his deconstruction of Luke, and the Luke mythos, would be much more compelling to read about in a paper than what we got onscreen, but that's true of Tony in general. He seemed to have a fascinating life, and even though I disliked Luke and what Luke ultimately did to those around him, I can appreciate his passion for reinvention and wanting to take Luke on his own journey. He never stopped wanting something more, rather than just cashing checks.

I would incorporate that as well. We would learn he faked his death in the ignoble ski lift, etc. and then went on, and it would unfold future story for his surviving loved ones.
I've outlined my woulda-been plans for Luke's final story to friends like titan or DRW before but in some ways this sad news makes a revision simpler, more elegiac. I won't go into them in a thread like this, friends can ask me in DMs if they wish but I'll just say again, I think the focus has always needed to be heavy on Laura re: Luke passing away. Her grief in 2022, like the entire event, was very perfunctory and rushed. Largely because I strongly suspect FV had gambled on getting Tony back for the 60th or a future time (as he'd gambled with Steve Burton in 2012, and Trevor St. John at OLTL in 2011), and revealing that offscreen 'death' to be a hoax or scheme. (Even Bobbie suggested this in 2023, which went nowhere.) Who knows, maybe GH did have an arrangement and then Tony's health grew worse. But they should never have let that weak stuff go to air unless they were certain.
Just speaking as a general audience member, Laura should never have believed Luke was dead. The Cassadines faked her death and the death of her mother and son. People saw fake bodies. Even if remains are presented Laura shouldn't believe it. All this time I have to believe her somewhat muted reaction and the scant writing is because Laura has quietly, consciously or unconsciously, been waiting for Luke to come back. And when she realizes he isn't coming back that should break her life as she begins to fully reconcile her heart re: her life with him. Something we could learn Luke had finally begun to do himself before his own death.
