Yeah, I agree on both accounts, Rhi. I mean, I could tolerate if they made Billy be like this NOW, but to claim he was ALWAYS like this... I didn't like that. But like I said, Miller is doing a good job with what he's given.

There was a time when Billy and "Cee Cee" were both pretty troubled youth...but fundamentally decent, and very sweet with each other.

I kind of hope that the essence of that can be restored, even if they are now grown up and wit a harder edge.

I agree. I don't know why they are saying Billy was a "player" because he was far from it. But with Billy in the role, I see a young Jack Abbott all the way so he's about to get hella "playerish". LOL

The writers gave up and are writing for the actress, rather than the character. Looks like slutty bitch is the only thing Ms. Sursok is capeable of playing -- and she can't even do that.

Who is she sleeping with to keep this job? Cause "actor" was the wrong career path to choose.

Someone on another MB brought up a Cruel Intentions vibe between Colleen/Billy, and I can totally see that. I have to agree though on Sursok, unfortunately she's just not doing a good job.

They are probably going to do the same thing with Eden that they did with Chloe. Liz H. was on recurring for awhile until the show realized they had a young woman who could actually act and hold her own with the vets and then they put her on contract.

I guess the girl who plays Eden is 17 in real life and was a star in a Nickolodeon show called Zoey 101 or something. She probably will be with the teen set with a SORASed Noah and maybe Abby and even Nate. And Lauren and Michael will play faux parents to her like they did Kevin.

It must be written in the Y and R handbook that Lauren and Michael must always have a family member crashing at their htwo bedroom apartment and they may have no scene longer than two minutes before being interrupted by a phone call or someone banging on their door.

I think that porn storyline could have made him a little older. The problem was how Lily responded to the storyline made it come off juvenile. Lily came off young minded which made the storyline feel young.

What made it juvenile was that Lilly was so offended at him looking at boobies. I've yet to meet a straight male who doesn't. They really should have made it that he was into something extreme.

I have to edit to add: People were disagreeing with me earlier that the younger set are the stars of Y&R, but this entire discussion is about the younger set. I like Billy M in the role, not sure if I like Billy/Liam or ever will. I never liked Mac either. What I do like is that young people are doing young stupid things. This makes soaps. This is a good start to Y&R developing a ratings bankable future.

Now would be the best time to get a new Colleen. She is acting so out of character. Colleen should be over-confident, not under confident. She learned earlier that women with a brain can find a good man, regardless of whether she is underweight or overweight. This current character should be an offense to anyone who isn't selling their body outside on the street corner. Maybe now is the time to rid this show of Brad and his Daughter.

And Y&R please fire this New Mac/Eden. There is nothing redeemable about her.

No, he isnt the same boy he was in 1999. Yes he has changed. And yes he is more like his uncle jack. I dont see the issue, but ive never really thought of Billy as this great upstanding hero. I dont think hes just a evil person now. He is a player. He is cocky - and why shouldnt he be? Look at the man! And with his money? Who wouldnt be? I like it. And he wasnt far off from this the last time we seen him in town.

I buy the change, too. Mac was Billy's first love and having that relationship ruined forever MUST have affected Billy deeply. So now he's acting out... sowing his wild oats... and chanelling Jack (Billy Miller may look like Peter Bergman but I was getting a definite Terry Lester vibe from him. TL's Jack chased anything in a skirt). I don't buy the whole "Billy was a sh!t" talk we got from everybody today, though. Still, IMO this Billy is working -- so far. For the first time since David Tom.

I'm going to get lambasted for this, but today was the first time in a long time I felt sympathy for Lily. Having to look at those pictures of Amber, Colleen... but not one of her. Heck, she WAS Daniel's wife (another relationship I liked once upon a time)! It was like she was admitting that she had never inspired Daniel artistically. I'm still wondering how Amber does it. I like Amber now that she's a ditzy, mistake-prone receptionist (and no longer an online porn-ho). But artist's muse?

Also today, I definitely got a "frenemy" vibe from Colleen and Lily -- and that's not the first time I've noticed that. Lily was getting seriously exasperated at Faux-lleen.

I'm glad Daniel got a taste of his own medicine re: Amber. He was so mean to her last week -- especially the way he sicced his attack dog Colleen on her at Crimson Lights and just stood back and watched her take the abuse.

Oh, I just realized... Daniel's artwork reminds me of the character drawings Y&R used to have in its opening credits before the mid-80s.
