Knots Landing is going to be number one.

Not #1, but Knots Landing did outlast the rest of the 1980s primetime soaps.

I know that someone has been saying that WB is remastering Knots and Falcon Crest. I doubt it, though. Prime has the remastered HD Dallas, and if Knots had been remastered, Prime likely would have it too.

Maybe I’m wigging out, but it seems like all the imperfections I mentioned late last night were fixed? Maybe it was just something with my TV or internet connection (I was watching in bed last night and now in the living room). I’m hunting and pecking at random episodes, and the later seasons look a tonnnnn better than they ever did on the Primetime Soaps channel.

And for all the reasons that "Donna" said, too.

There did come a point when DALLAS became repetitive and boring, and when DYNASTY ceased being anything other than camp and parody.  But KL kept it as "real" as they could throughout most of its' run, and they never were afraid to evolve or shake up their audience either.  Were their tactics successful?  Not always.  Nevertheless, I appreciated that KL was willing to do whatever it took not to fall into the same traps that DALLAS, DYNASTY and FC did.

Knots Landing being a community-based show didn't have the same limitations in storytelling and expanding the canvas as the family/business conflict-based shows did. Knots Landing also set itself apart from the rest of the primetime soaps with high emotional stakes character driven storytelling.

The picture quality is better on Prime then Plex.

Yep! Just checked out Season 5, which was almost abysmal on Plex. So. Much. Better!

Here is a 1973 episode of Owen Marshall, Counselor At Law featuring pre KL Donna Mills and Michelle Phillips. Jed Allen also appears.

I wish I hadn't gotten so far in my re-watch now that I see how good the show looks on prime. It also is nice without the awkward commercial breaks. I'm currently in season 9 which I have a lot of issues with so I think I'm going to take a little break before pushing through.

I haven't even started on this show. Didn't have time for it. Still don't. But being on prime is such a great way to watch. I have to sneak it into my schedule. Are they prime videos with 480 resolution or HD?

Is the quality that much better? Woah that is getting me excited. And do they have captions?

I'm glad I've been distracted by other classic soaps, life, etc. because I am still only a third into S7 (while catching up on the Dallas dream season, as I am watching only this single year of both simultaneously). I do wish I could've seen the Peter Dunne era in better quality the first time.
