So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season. 🤣

True. @Liberty City Agreed, it started pretty slow, but once Jill falls off the cliff, I was more invested for some reason. Yes, I genuinely enjoyed the episodes surrounding Greg's fake death. I agree, it began quite slowly, but once Jill fell off the cliff, I became much more invested for some reason. I guess bc more of the cast was working together. Twenty-two should've been their cut-off.

I always thought that the Jean Hackney story should have ended at mid season at the latest... and then deal with the fall-out because seeing Ben/Val switch roles with Ben in mental decline instead of Val would have been interesting to explore. And seeing Val and Laura's friendship suffer also was interesting and should have been explored especially with Karen caught in the middle and Abby both intrigued and amused at the conflict that she didn't cause. However, season 8 was the only Latham run season where Val was well written. That would have made sense, even if it cost us one of my favorite scenes (Ben putting Lilliemae in a headlock). That's an excellent storyline and leads to the show's last strong season finale. Edited June 10, 2025Jun 10 by DRW50

Season 9 goes off the rails. Season 10 to the end is off the rails plus budget mode. The final five seasons for me were a chore to get through.
