What? 40+ years of episodes? DAYS is having financial problems as it is already. It wouldn't pay of in the end. And who would be able to afford all these DVD's anyway. It would be at least 4-6 DVD boxes for every year, multiply that with 43.

A similar thing to what they've done with B&B in the Netherlands would surely be much appreciated by many fans though. And I'm not talking about just one DVD. It could be a series of DVD's with different themes like Christmas in Salem, Memorable episodes, Weddings etc.

Yeah as much as I'd love to have, say, every episode saved of AMC (I know they have nearly every single one from 76 or 77 on and a handful from before) and on DVD it's just not practical--and I'd never be able to justify watching them all. But highlights--particularly FULL episodes would be BRILLIANT to have in nice box sets. (Some Aussie soaps have also been collected by story--)

I think DAYS would be a great soap to realse storyline DVD's.

Id love to see ABC gamble with PC arc's. They dont even need to retail them. Just offer them online, that might cut down on production costs, but it also might copst more that way idk...

I also think a nice outlet would be ITunes. But idk how practicle it would be for most people to download that many epsiodes. lol.

best of dvd's would be nice.

something. please.

I agree that if they did them by mail order--at least to test it out it might make sense. I believe this was how the popular, campy Australian prison soap Prisoner Cell Block H was recently released down under--to a lot more success than they expected (of course, though it has tons of episodes it has far less than most American soaps). Similar to what was done of the, they assumed, less popular pre Barnabas years of Dark Shadows when it was first released

WIth that kinda format surely it would just be a money maker for the studios wouldn't it? they have YEARS of footage just sitting there gathering dust

I'm nto too surprised--fan favorites DVD collections of Australian soaps are, my Ozzie friend claims, pretty big sellers and have been for a while (He just bought one of his faves, the campy serial killer story that briefly made the flop soap E Streets a huge hit, he says, the Mr Bad storyline-- http://www.smh.com.au/news/dvd-reviews/e-s...6857389083.html )

In the link for the Australian one, it shows Universal as the distributor. Since it's known that Bell-Phillip Productions owns anything and everything B&B, one would presume they licensed the rights to Universal to distribute the DVDs abroad. Has anyone checked out links for other countries that offered this (like the one in the Netherlands) to see who distributed those?

I would definitely buy it, too. But like you say, selling soaps on DVD is currently not a standard in the US, so would a US distributor want to take a chance on releasing it here?

    • As long as no names were directly mentioned, it's a bit of a harmless lie, but you are right that she could have just heard something, or someone said that to her at the time rather than just saying the story wasn't popular and she was being written out. Or it could have been true, of course.
    • I hope so!   Despite allegedly being on the show for several years, Neil Wade got a total of ONE paragraph in the Laguardia book.   Paraphrasing, it said, Neil Wade (Michael Lipton) "helped Penny put her life back together after Jeff's death", "was a physician who didn't practice medicine for personal reasons" (didn't know that), "opened a bookstore with Penny" (sounds right), "planned to adopt a baby with Penny who couldn't have children" (sounds right), "began losing his vision and was struck and killed" (who knows?), and then Penny ultimately moved to Europe and married the racecar driver and adopted an Asian baby named Amy (sounds right).  And that was it.
    • Why do I feel whatever BLQ has planned will blowup in her face?
    • Given Kim's penchant for drama, her love of drinking wine, being more of a guy's girl, and coming across as a bit of a narcissist, I could see this being a memory mistake, an assumption, or hearsay or rumor someone told her without any backing.  I can't see her out and out lying on purpose, so part of me thinks there was smoke somewhere, whether true or false, and she believed some mistake, if incorrect or misremembered.
    • I loved this too!

    • I still say this is Frank's way of saying goddbye to JJ, who brought nothing to the show and was a complete dud for his entire return. He's purposelY been given an awful exit. Is this all Jackson's fault? Most likely not, but I place most of the blame on him. Too many contract demands, too much working around his travel schedule, too many stories he refused to do. GH has WAY too many actors calling the shots and influencing story and hires. We've seen it hurt the show time and time again.
    • Yeah, like others have said, Paul took it home for me today. We'd be so lucky to have him back for good.
    • I really like the scenes between Dani and Andre today.  Regardless of where this goes or who they end up with.  For now I appreciate that they have honesty with one another.  There's deep truth and vulnerability.  More than before.

date: Tuesday, June 10 | Gregori J. Martin, Cheryl L. Davis | Phideaux Xavier Andre and Dani continue to use each other for their own personal reasons. I mean, good for them, but the people they truly want to be with are not each other. Anita wanting the temporary passes revoked? Oh, I know that made Sharon mad as Hell. MAD! Tracy said, "Shut up! I'm in charge now!" Bill playing around with child bride, via Ashley... that was kind of cute, but I also kind of wish it were true. Sharon, sweetie, your ugliness continues to shine bright like the ugliest of cubic zirconia. And Tracy, your vulnerability is beautiful; this reunion means so much to you, and it's genuine. That's what I want to see. So, with Bill's right side affected, then his stroke was on the left side of his brain; interesting. Very interesting, and while it's nice that he is making significant improvements, more can and will be done. Rehab, huh? Will it be at-home rehab or at a facility? That's what I would like to know. I appreciate Sharon [finally] letting that ugliness fade and her truth begin to come out. That's beautiful. Vernon continues to be wise with his years and his wisdom, and his continued connections with his grandchildren, especially discussing the past (summer of '69) with Uncle Cornelius, I love this. This is what I enjoy seeing. Dani is catching onto Chelsea's crush on Madison, and I think she approves. So, Shanice was a physical therapist to start? Quite interesting. Wait, so Anita is leaving town? Why do I suspect she's going to come home to some messes she'll have to clean up? Notes: I've loved the muted, neutral tones that Tamara Tunie (Anita) has been wearing throughout, but then we get moments like today where she wears this vibrant pop of colour, and I'm fully in love. Karla Mosley (Dani) continues to shine in her facial expressions when Marquita Goings' Hayley is talking nonsense. She embodies Dani from head to toe, eye roll and all. Tunie and Clifton Davis (Vernon) shine together; it's a natural, old-school kind of chemistry they share as a couple.
