Yeah, Dru always over shadowed their scenes because she seemed to be "keeping it real". But Tonya Lee was one of those intense can cry on command kinda actresses. She's amazing, talented...she can actually act. She needs a love interest though. I never liked Nate.

I'm guessing the "shocking recast" would be either Traci or Malcolm. Victoria Rowell has said she would return if asked so it wouldn't make sense to replace her.

Christel Khalil has a huge fan base (a fact you are in denial about). They're never going to fire her. Deal with it. She's not popular on this particular board, but she has a large following and I think you know that.

That can be said about a lot of bad actors - not just Hartnett. Alot of actors sell it on the charm and other factors.

And some talented actors can't win over fans no matter what because they don't have a personality or they are too distant for fans to make a connection with.

Drake Hogenstyn for instance is said to be one of the most endearing and open people with his fans. Some who have gone to his personal appearances and don't really even like him come away enthralled by him.

But yet you will have someone who is over the top in acting chops but just does not know how to relate to their co-stars or to fans. Also some of the big talented ones let it go to their heads too much. One of my favorite actors of all time was George Reinholt, but one of the big reasons he is not working today is he couldn't get along with people backstage. He got along with most of his co-stars but his bosses utterly hated him.

With others it has been the opposite and because they can't get along with co-stars they find themselves out of jobs.

It takes alot more than talent to make it as an actor. People don't like to work with divas or people who get too big for their britches - and that is what happenes alot with many of the big talents. And it happens to some of them even before they get popular enough to earn the right to act that way.

No, I don't think many of CK's fans watch the show just for her. But why would MAB go to the trouble of bringing back two popular actresses (Eileen and Tonya) and then fire another one? It wouldn't make sense.

I'm not familiar enough with Josh Hartnett to comment on his acting ability, but Christel Khalil certainly doesn't fit that description! Christel is the best younger actress Y&R has ever had IMO. And she has two Emmy nods.

OK, people! This thread is about Tonya Lee Williams!!

Joining the chorus of people thrilled to have her back. I had forgotten how much she brings to the show.

She and VR both need to come back because Dru and Olivia are flip sides of the same coin. And I know this pairing was hated and instantly quashed, but... I thought Olivia and ThunderThighs had chemistry and a lot of potential. Olivia as the Other Woman!

    • On GL we only saw young GA's Philip in very short shorts but on AMC we saw GA's Alec McIntyre in a speedo.  But, on GL, an older GA/Philip is having sex with Olivia in a hotel room where Bruce Barry was directing & he & she both end up down to nothing but black underwear & at one point his bicep is covering her entire upper body so it appears that she is naked. I think they ended up on the floor between the bed & the wall. That was when I realized that Grant's body was better than Steve Burton's. (Olivia was cheating. Her husband Alan was in the hospital.) It is notable that I can speak with any insight AT ALL about these bodies since that is not the team I play for! LOL
    • I mentioned that last week and I am glad Tate and Sophia just realized that today lol.  I think the show is just tying up some of Ron's loose ends.   You would think Brady, Holly or even Marlena would have perhaps pointed out the age thing to Tate at some point. I am not sure I like this shift in Sophia's characterization though.  MK played Sophia as someone who always defied her mom's rules-she just didn't get caught.  She was openly trying to steal Tate from Holly with no shame, showing up at the Horton cabin in bikinis to seduce him, and blackmailing Holly to work all her shifts at the Bistro.  Once the recast started the show has acted like Sophia's lived in her room, sheltered her entire life lol.
    • I thought Dante was going to put hands on Gio
    • If Jordan never appeared again, I would absolutely not notice or miss her.  So, while Brook Kerr has her flaws, she at least appears to have a pulse and a personality as Portia.
    • That's because India, or the India MKA ended up playing, was created due to the fact that both she and Kristi Farrell were liked by TPTB, but the part they both read for didn't exactly fit either one of them so the show created two brand new characters for both actresses to play (India and Roxie) and opted not to cast the character they were intending to cast (A cousin of Beth's). I think that's why the show seemed to struggle at first with how to write both India and Roxie in their first months on the show because the characters weren't ever intended to exist.  And yes.. Grant A had a great body... but I didn't find him hot when he was playing Phillip.. only when he was playing Alec on AMC which baffles me since it was the same actor in both parts LOL
    • I shared this on Twitter and good grief the comments. Steffy fans can be such vile real-life human beings over a fictional character lol.
    • I remember Michael Logan interviewed L.A. actors/production staff about the movie. Susan Seaforth Hayes said she was dying to know Susan Lucci's reaction.
    • Thanks @Franko  @slick jones You may be interested in the Elisabeth Shue mention. I have to laugh that they apparently didn't even know Teri Hatcher was on Capitol. I have scans somewhere of SPW talking with soap actors about Soapdish. Some, like Mary Stuart, were not happy. I never had a lot of interest in the movie myself.
    • I never had much of a problem with Brandon Claybon's performance as Martin. He has gotten much better though. While I enjoy his confrontational scenes, I must say his lighter, and carefree scenes from Thursday's episode are the ones that stood out most in the last 3 days (to me).   I agree with all of this!
