I hate Sharon! She's the reason I can barely watch Y&R anymore. Sharon is the embodiment of the kind of character I loathe on daytime. As much as I loath(ed), Kelly, Jessica, Evangeline, Nora (on oltl) and Cassie on GL, it can't compare to my hatred of Sharon.

Probably. Then again, SON isn't as bad as it used to be. I think we've made a nice turnaround from last spring/summer when all hell was breaking loose. Having great people to discuss with really helps. Even though I consider myself to be a mature person, at times I don't always show best judgment....when can bite me in the ass.

Man, I live in a cave. I was posting back then, and to me, it was fine back then too. Sure, a few bad eggs. But I always found SON to be the most open-minded board.

I must have just not been in the right threads. :-)

LOL! I think that ship has sailed. The people who like me, are gonna like me and the ones who won't, won't. I am pretty subdued on this board. I actually put on white gloves to post. ;)

 Thanks for that endorsement. <_< I have found most people here to be diplomatic (except Sylph and Jay :P , and I don't mind cuz they make me laugh even when I disagree with them). Perhaps the key is, we've now all been at this a long time and realize that preferences can shift over time and eventually you find yourself in agreement with people that at one time you thought you would always remain in staunch opposition to. Plus it's not life altering, doesn't put money in my pocket or determine whether or not my daughter's softball team wins the state championship, lol. We really don't have any impact on what decisions tptb make, so ultimately being "right" isn't worth fighting to the bitter end.

I was busy behaving badly on other boards <blush>. But I really like SON and the discussion and camaraderie here. So sure! White Gloves for Everyone! B)

The OJ Simpson trial did not start the destruction of soaps. Writers and the executives behind the soaps have just not come up with more compelling dramas.

I really miss Hogan Sheffer at Days. Both the beginning and end of his stint were brilliant, and I loved a lot of the stuff in between (including the beginning of the vendetta storyline, with feral!Lexie and the return of Tony and Anna). Touch the Sky and Tinda Lau sucked ass, but I was willing to forgive him on both counts; he was never as bad as post-SSK Reilly. Dena Higley's new, "improved" version of the show succeeds only at putting me to sleep.

 I meant it all in the nicest way. I promise.

I told you before you remind me of that kid at the birthday party who runs around popping all the balloons. And you're not diplomatic. You say exactly what you think with little cushioning. Although since I don't really know you, you could be editing yourself a LOT.

The show does look great though!
    • Well, she just said "ladies" on the show but she didn't specify they were fellow actresses. It could have been some of the women behind the scenes of the show. There was a lot in the interview that wasn't clear to me.
    • Now would’ve been a great time to get the next A plot going, versus Bill and Katie and Steffy and Liam rehashing the same BS about Luna we have been hearing for weeks.
    • I feel it could benefit from a focus on one of their three A stories or a solid B plot. But right before the turnover from Guza to Thomson, outside of all things Dani...there's nothing too A story-ish going on. Still entertaining for me, but it's noticeable that there is not a main story with other B/C stories going on. It's just...a bunch of stories going on.    I do hope the build to Winterfest and us actually seeing it THIS month will get things moving again.    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
