It's always fun to see then-unknown faces pop up. In the past few weeks, a pre-EDGE Mark Arnold and Felice Schachter (Facts of Life) have shown up in the reruns.

Seeing him for the first time, Mark Arnold was hella cute.

Interesting. I think she and Cherrill will be gone from credits soon. I know Levin started writing scripts for SFT in spring 1980 when the Corringtons were replaced by Linda Grover/John Porterfield as head writers.  

Surprisingly Levin and Cherill stay on right throughout Doris Quinlan's tenure.

When Joe Rothenberger takes over as EP, Ralph Ellis and Eugenie Hunt became headwriters.

 

Who knows why Levin/Cherill stayed on for another year or so despite falling ratings. Maybe Quinlan became defacto headwriter?

Quinlan had breathed new life into the show IMO. Nancy Pinkerton is pure brilliance on this show right now.

Actually, that's not accurate according to a Jon-Michael Reed article that just surfaced online. It was published in October 1980. Reed said that NBC fired Quinlan in late September/early October 1980 after Colgate-Palmolive sold the show to NBC. She was replaced by Jim Baffico. Rothenberger did join the show but was a line producer, not executive producer. The article also says that Ellis and Hunt were hired as head writers in 1979. That actually matches what the woman who transcribes The Doctors for Retro said. About a month or so ago, she indicated that Ellis' name already showed up in the writing credits. So Ellis/Hunt were onboard by late 1979/early 1980. The article also states that Quinlan and Colgate-Palmolive wanted to fire Ellis and Hunt and replace them with Harding Lemay. But then the show was sold to NBC and NBC opted to keep Ellis/Hunt as head writers.

Thanks for clearing that up - it certainly makes sense. 

As I said I found it odd that Quinlan would keep the current team.
