He said in an interview that his character has become less popular since the Debbie pairing began, which he seemed a little unhappy about. I don't think it's just that (I think making him Moses' father was dumb, and he doesn't have the same relationship with Finn or April that he once had), but it doesn't help.

But he was just terrific on Thursday when Ross told Finn. I'm going to have to put that scene on Youtube if no one else has. He really impressed me.

That new copper was a total babe.

The focus on Sandy has me fearing that worst. Betty has left me, Sandy absolutely must remain.

It pisses me off immensely that Debbie is such a tw*t about Kerry. Debbie Downer constantly hating fun.

(if she seems subdued in that interview it's likely because a nasty tabloid story popped up this weekend about her getting nailed by a crew member and the girlfriend she didn't know about being furious about it)

Spoilers, obviously.

Today's episode was decent (mostly liked seeing the older characters), although the scene with Ross going off in the Woolpack was very good.

I'm not sure. I have a feeling it was the article.

(I'm always annoyed at anything she says about Chrissie though - Chrissie is not a "victim")

Around 1,000 people signed a petition to try to get STV (Scotland's ITV) to not show the episodes, due to similarities to what happened there a few years ago. I guess we'll see if STV agrees.

Help!

I am a SERIOUSLY addicted newbie, having just found EMMERDALE on youtube this month.

Following a friend's advice, I started watching the highlights of the Aaron story, and have gotten through hundred of clips from 2009 to 2015.

I adore Aaron, Paddy, Chas, and so many of the characters, and want to start watching full episodes from as far back as I can find them, not just the Aaron clips. (I must say, however, that the Aaron and Jackson story and its aftermath was responsible for getting me hooked, and had me crying my eyes out for weeks. I understand why people want to both throttle and protect Aaron; watching him screw up his life through bad choices is infuriating, but watching him suffer is just agonizing. I love, love, love his relationship with Paddy, and when Aaron called him "Dad," I lost it.)

Anyway, I also want to find detailed storyline and character background information, so I can figure out how those darned Dingles are related (LOL), and understand the past relationships of all the characters better.

Does anyone know of good websites where I can find in-depth character biographies and explanations of how the families are related? Synopses of past storylines? Full episodes going back as far as possible?

I don't know much about the show's current state in 2015, but the writing and acting from the Aaron and Jackson era was great, and I hope that I won't be disappointed in EMMERDALE's present storylines.

If anyone can direct this neurotically-obsessed new fan to EMMERDA:E websites, I would appreciate it.

    • The thought has crossed my mind. Tricia Mann-Grant did say in her EW interview w/ MVJ and DD, that Leslie wants to be a Dupree just as bad as she wants Eva to be. I believe now that's the direction they are going in, that maybe she is just obsessed with the family. I could be wrong though.
    • True. But I have always had mixed feelings about that twist. Since I love the Damian storyline which already had twists and turns. Also I could not wait for a new powerful AND BLACK businessman to mix it up at some point with Victor. It just seem like another twist that was added on for twist sake. And also for a character (whether I love him or not) to hijack a new and refreshing storyline so they can be propped.    Once good thing that I can say about JG is that he loves to keep the Abbotts in rotation. So I could see that happening with Diane. I don't think she has mentioned her backstory, either. I would be intrigued.
    • That's how I feel. Beats could have been played for the past couple months wherein Dante and Gio interacted and had a difference of opinion -- or something. I don't know. I do know that this crushing rant that blames everything on Gio is absurd. -- Reading over all the comments here about characters and couples, it's kind of amazing that we have any show left considering the number of times actors and writers and execs were given influence to make major character and story decisions. Too many cooks in the kitchen.
    • Lol. But Jeffrey was weak to mama. Leslie can go dead because anger is a great motivator via Martin defending HIS mama and just not taking ish altogether. This ain't how it should be. They need not run the show like this. It's too noticeable. The way Eva said mama reminded me of Penny from Good Times. Instead of physical abuse it's mental abuse.
    • Oh, I see! You posted this on the general retro soap thread because of the voiceover.
    • Yeah, I agree. It's part of the reason I have shade picked on Martin's Secret being so on the backburner that it was about to fall off of it. With Dani/Bill/Hayley being the main tale to start us off and backburned and the SilkPress storyline being well paced, but not set to explode until May, Martin's Secret was the other main storyline that could have been developed. And after giving it a nice slow burn to start off, the story upped and vanished in Month 2. That left the show having to rely on mostly B/C stories to stay afloat to various degrees of success.
    • I loved those scenes, lol. I thought I was watching a stage play. But I do hear what you're saying.
    • Jason47's episode summaries clarify everything. https://daytimeroyaltyonline.com/days-daily-summaries-1990-1999-t14806-s150.html The construction company is "AJ Construction" (AJ = Adrienne+Justin).   Jencon Oil was building an oil refinery at the construction site.  This was adjacent to the park. Kirk Geiger played the character Chad Webster. The character Chad was an actor in the movie being made.   The child friend with Shawn-Douglas is his cousin Andrew Donovan. A few episodes prior, Andrew and Shawn-Douglas were at the park playing hide-and-seek. They wandered off where they shouldn't have gone, by slipping through the gate onto the construction site.  Shawn-D fell into the hole at the oil refinery. There were several episodes of trying to rescue Shawn-D.  Finally Carly rescued Shawn-D, but he was discovered to be deaf.  Andrew felt bad, but Bo and Shane both understood that it was an accident.  Carly later taught Shawn-D sign language. Shawn-D was played by Scott Groff. Andrew was played by Bradley Michael Pierce. pics here: https://web.archive.org/web/20070404163013/http://www.childrenofsalem.com/days/kids/shawnandrew/shawnandrew.html Larger context here: https://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.htmlhttps://web.archive.org/web/20080614054207/http://www.bethsdayspage.com/days/riverfrontraider.html
    • I had a situation last week where I could watch the new episode on Paramount Plus on my laptop, but it wasn't even listed on my TV as an option.
