Thanks for the transcript and the video, both of you!!

Wasn't expecting this. Kirkwood has some kind of odd charisma about him, he always has. And he's wearing the flannel shirt which most gay soap producers and characters seem to wear...

I'm glad to hear Carol will be getting a story that will change her world. I wonder if she will have an illness.

The line about seeing whether people deserve to be on Eastenders might rankle some but I think he has a point, and most of his firings so far have been correct.

Interesting to see a glimpse of Kat and Alfie. Shane's facelift hasn't been TOO damaging but I hope he will still have the expressiveness he used to have.

Steve is going a great job as Phil but the snot pouring out of his nose was gross lol, was it real snot?

Lily was such a cutie when she was sitting in Stacey's lap and smiling at Jean.

Ryan is way too hot for Janine, I like her as a bitch but I don't like her pudgy face.

I love Billy he is so sweet, he should have more scenes.

Im going to miss Peggy, the Mitchell family will not be the same without her. :(

I am missing Madeline Duggan already as Lauren. She was very pretty, sweet but was rebellious at the same time. I saw the pic of the new Lauren she looks mean, too old and fugly.

in my opinion Best Episode Of The Year

-Great Acting

-Fantastic Stuntwork

-Very emotional seeing The Pub go down

And Barbara Windsor was great...especially at the end.

Behind the scenes of the Vic Fire:

Today's episode:

I thought it was fantastically gripping from start to finish. Much better than that overrated sh!t of a Live episode.

Lacey Turner and Steve McFadden were both fantastic.

I don't think it even mattered that no one died, not even Peggy. The real loss was the Vic, which is a character in itself on the show, and the thing Peggy probably loves as much as her faaaamily.

Realistic reaction from Zainab as well, given that she supposedly went through a bad fire years ago.

Poor Stacey getting slapped by Pat and then being trapped with Lily upstairs.

I kind of thought Phil would die when the roof collapsed on him...

Glad to see Janine shouting, "Where's Pat!??!"

I thought the scenes with Ryan rescuing Lily and Stacey were heartwarming, and then when they were all on the street, Stacey tells him "She's your's ....she's your daughter." and Ryan froze was well done.

It was nice that you also got to see everyone's reactions, even people who didn't go to Janine and Ryan's reception. You had people like Ian, Patrick, Denise, and Carol running out of their houses to see what was going on and to witness the centerpiece of Albert Square - The Vic burn to the ground.

I'm surprised Peggy didn't run back in to get her precious Queen Victoria bust.

They also dropped hints about Ronnie's pregnancy in this episode. Like Roxy yelling to her to help, and Ronnie said rubbing her stomach, "I can't!"

Oh, and drunk Dot was hilarious, especially when she was dancing around.

Anyway, this episode just flew by, and was very entertaining and well-written from start to finish. I know it's a special/stunt episode, but I thought it was rather well executed, acted, directed, and written.

That's how a proper stunt on a soap is done. Everything was right on the mark. I don't think any of the US Soaps could ever pull off a stunt that well.
