On paper, Vincent/Ronnie should be exciting, but I just don't see any chemistry - and Vincent is too much of a joke character (or a joke actor) to invest in. Most of DTC's new characters are either just passable or unwatchable. I'm still astonished at the amount of airtime given to the walking horror that is Les Coker.

I am, too, Carl, he is absolutely UNBEARABLE. He really and truly is the worst actor this show has ever had as a regular cast member, male or female. When Les reached into his desk and took out a flask I was so hoping it was a gun, instead.

I think DTC is going for what he used to have with people like Minty and Heather, but it was awful then too. Now it's even worse. And while I realize Paul was always going to be an acquired taste, I think this story has done him less than zero favors.

I'm so glad you mentioned this. It bothers me more than it should. With them saying how despondent Pam was when Laurie died, they should just lose her mind, kill Les, and then be sectioned in a catatonic state.

With the news of a trans character coming on, I have to speculate that Les' secret is exactly that. What a horrible choice of actor to choose to do the story justice if so.

Carl, I think you're right about Vincent/Ronnie. Sadly, I think Vincent's whole character was better conceived on paper than he is on screen. Same with Claudette, who feels like she was cast before she was fully conceived. I just find Vincent so dull.

I've mentioned the Alice band before. It's super annoying. It's such a 90s thing.

The writing for Paul and Les could be so much better. It's just so hollow. The whole story is a drag (no pun intended!).

I'm with Bright Eyes: the more they talk about his secret, the more I'm literally speculating that Les is either a crossdresser, or is the proposed transgender character who has yet to transition. I really hope it isn't the latter; that would be such a stereotype, and it really wouldn't do the story justice at all. I think Les is one of the worst characters to ever grace the show, especially in the acting department.

The majority of DTC's new characters have been disappointments. Aleks was the best, and he got rid of him for no good reason.

    • I do not think I have ever agreed with Vee. Normally I do not read him, Ignore ya know. For some unknown reason I clicked to read. And I agree 1000%. Now, this is so odd that I need to go away for a bit.
    • Justine had a lot of hooey in it, but she was an actual woman, not a guy in drag. She was a doppelganger of Rachel, French, having had a past history with Carl, etc. Two of the more outrageous parts-Justine bricking alive Vicky into a wall & Justine grinding the gears driving a big rig.
    • Hehe, twi/x actually x, formerly Twitter. Typically I find 2 sources for "crazy fan rumors" - the wrong parts of FB and x. Oy.
    • Not to hijack the thread, but was that character Justine? I just found this interview online with Logan and see what you're talking about - wow!   http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • My bad….ill fix that  Fixed
    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.

Melissa was here today & we went to Michael's Crafts & Ofc Depot. In Michael's there were two beautiful LITTLE girls who kept staring at me, so I gave them a littel wave & very quietly said HI & then did back. I told Melissa they were staring at me. She smiled & said "Purple. A lot of little girls love purple & you forget but you have purple hair. Seeing you their whole imaginations are transformed! Thinking "That lady has purple hair. That means I can have purple hair! They had no clue before seeing you that it was possible." I just laughed & laughed.
    • This opening scene is hilarious...it's like someone wrote out the script for Philip with one hand. And Rick...sniffing a scarf over and over. And in their next scene they are still sniffing the [!@#$%^&*] scarf as the camera stays all over Philip's bare chest and armpits as he keeps working out. Insane stuff.
