What a bizarre, disjointed Christmas episode this is, from a show very clearly in serious transition. I wonder how much of this was Jane McNaughton and how much was the incoming producer (who was it again)? It must be one of the only soap episodes I can remember where the homeless are ungrateful and a wrong'un like Terry grows a heart. (I did always have a soft spot for Terry though...).

This is also the episode with the notorious Deirdre/Dev hookup.

I believe this is the last time they used the extended end theme to close an episode - 11 years ago for Karen's exit (though, I think this episode actually aired on the 26h of December 2004).

Likely because of that supposed clique she, Kym Marsh, and Antony Cotton are in.

Ew. That sounds horrid lol

It is, given that they've supposedly bullied several actors off the show.

I'll never get how these three have so much power seeing as they play 3 of the most irrelevant, pointless, and disliked characters on the canvas.

I still pray that Kate Oates does a stunt that involves all of them being killed off. Corrie is in desperate need of a house cleaning and new blood.

Considering Kate Oates only fired a small handful of people during her entire Emmerdale tenure, you're probably sh*t out of luck on that score.

She got rid of the Spencer clan (minus Dan and Kerry), so I have huge hope that she'll listen to the fans reception and get rid of the right players. That was good enough for me and if she gets rid of Fiz, Sean, and Michelle, that'll be good enough for me. :P

Ali and Ruby were still around for two years after she started. Make no mistake, I'd like to see the back of them myself, but some massive cast cull isn't her MO.

That said, and this is going to sound horrible, but I wish Stuart Blackburn had the balls (he doesn't) to kill off Hope. Or, in more Corrie fashion, she could recover and on the way home from the hospital, they're involved in a car crash where both Fiz and Hope die. On a different note, does anyone find it odd that Fiz hasn't changed Hope's last name from Stape? You'd think she'd want to distance her daughter away from the fact that her Dad was a serial killer.
