I Dont mind seing Helen Worth as Gail, she is a bitch nowadays, but she been on the show for such a long time, so i dont mind seing her, her mother Audrey is also fun to see.

Old? she is born in 1951, so she is younger than Deidre Hall for example, i really dont think 57 is that old!.....

I Dont know why, but i think Sally is so boring, dont know why?

What do you think about Deirdre and her Sally Spectra voice?....

Aaah, okay. Thanks. I found another episode on the same site and it looks to be from around the same time period, so I'll check that out too. I liked the little lady who was getting her hair done, I think her name is Mavis?

I like Audrey more than Gail, that's for sure. Audrey is totally the type of person that I would know. Gail, on the other hand......I can do without her lol. Every time I watch the clip of David pushing her down the stairs, I cheer.

And I didn't mean old as in old. I just meant as in "old blah blah."

The Mortons have grown on me but they've been really unpopular over here. As soon as the new EP took over, she booted them out the door.

Jodie left sometime before Christmas tho. I think the actress was sick of not having a storyline and they rarely mention the character.

Samantha Seager (Jodie Morton), i think the reason she left was that she wanted to spend more time with her family something she didn`t feel she could on corrie. Maybe she lived far away from the studios?, who knows?......

It is funny that Kenneth Cope is coming back, his character Jed Stone was last seen in 1966, and know the actor who is born in 1931, is coming back, that really is long since he was on the show!.....

Oh wow, Michelle Keegan!! I think I might just start watching this show because of her - she's so gorgeous. But there is something about CS that looks "boring" and "old". But I'm glad Tina is involved with David, who I thought was very interesting from the BSA Best Villain clip.

What's Tina's story right now?

Rosie's affair with her teacher (John Stape) started around autumn 2007. In 2005 and 2006, Rosie had been a more gloomy Goth-wearing girl, to match her Goth boyfriend, Craig Harris. When the actor who played Craig left Corrie, they began to make Rosie into the sexpot, since their young female sexpot, Sarah Platt, was leaving the show at the end of 2007.

Rosie and John started sleeping together before he became her teacher (they met when he was giving lessons to her mother, who also had a crush on him). After he became her teacher, he wanted to break things off, and stay with his girlfriend, Fiona (AKA Fiz). Rosie enjoyed having power over him and blackmailed him into continuing to sleep with her. At Christmas of 2007, through a Christmas gift mixup, Fiz realized John was sleeping with Rosie. Rosie's father Kevin beat the tar out of John and was sent to prison. John lost his job and left town.

Around summer 2008, John returned. He wanted to reunite with Fiz and tried to steer clear of Rosie. By this time he and Rosie had no feelings for each other, but the whole fling and the lies still stayed with Fiz and even when she tried to take John back (against the advice of all her friends and family), she couldn't go through with it. John blamed Rosie. First he yanked her into a cab and demanded she leave town. A few weeks later, Rosie went missing. At first everyone assumed she'd just went off for a vacation without telling them, but eventually they started to get worried. Meanwhile, Fiz took John back, and they were very happy together. John kept telling her he had to go to his grandmother's house to feed her cat (his grandmother had recently died). One day, John left the keys at Fiz's apartment, and she decided to feed the cat for him. She found various items which led her to believe John was sleeping with Rosie again. John showed up and she confronted him. He told her he'd been keeping Rosie in the attic, just to keep her out of the way. Fiz said he had to let Fiz out. Fiz and John went up to the attic and Rosie hit John over the head and fled the house. John was arrested and sentenced to prison. Rosie sold her story to a magazine for big money.

Tina's current storyline involves her father, Joe, who is dating David's mother, Gail. Joe has bad money problems that only Tina knows about and he's having a mental breakdown from the stress of it all. Meanwhile, there's a new family in town, the Windass (yes that's their name) family, who hate Joe because they tried to cheat him when he built them a new kitchen and then David forced them to write Joe a check. The Windasses have a son, Gary, who is Tina's age. He loves winding David and Joe up, and he does this by flirting with Tina. Tina tells him she's not interested, but she still talks to him and is polite to him, which means David is becoming more and more angry with her. This is all going to end with a big fight between David and Gary, which David won't see the better end of, given that Gary is an amateur boxer.

I try to keep up with the show as much as I can, since in many ways it reminds me of what American soaps used to be. There are still some things that drive me crazy, especially Michelle Connor, who is a very cold, selfish woman, and yet everyone on the show constantly talk about what a wonderful person she is.

The best story on the show right now is the return of Peter Barlow, the son Ken Barlow shipped to Scotland when he was a little boy. Peter is now all grown up and is a very tortured alcoholic, trying to raise his own son, Simon.

Hard times have hit the cast and crew. Bill Roache, the only original cast member left, unexpectedly lost his wife Sara, who was also very close to most of the people on set. Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle Connor, had to deliver a premature son at 18 weeks. He died soon after birth. One of the show's mixers has also died. They've shut the set down for the first time since 1999, when longtime cast member Bryan Moasley died. Scripts have to be rewritten because Bill and Kym are both in major storylines at the moment.

Meanwhile, ITV is so bad off financially that they may have to sell Coronation Street to another production company. Some rumors even say an American production company, which, if the American soaps are any indication, should make the older cast feel very nervous.

    • Whoa. She should have fought like hell to get that. Was it the greatest show ever? No, but it had a fantastic cast and was practically guaranteed to last multiple seasons because of its star power. Could have certainly led to bigger and better things. If it had flopped she could have always gone back to soaps. Judith Light broke through on a sitcom where she was basically second banana to Tony Danza. That grew into a very busy and distinguished career. The woman is still regularly booked to this day.
    • I could understand her being frustrated by the fact that she'd been in the business 10+ years at that point, and probably couldn't even get in the door. But then again, she'd already gone out for pilot season once (that we know of) and she and  her agent knew a 35-ish woman had a very difficult time in Hollywood. I know she did a few guest spots, but other than Designing Women, nothing I saw--not even a Murder She Wrote, and that show had tons of ex-soapers on it. I mean, God bless Marilu Henner, but even having been on Taxi, she couldn't get arrested for years either.
    • I didn't rewatch that period, so I'm not really sure how much Bill is on. I recall something about him living at the boardinghouse. I think Van made Matt his guardian, and why she didn't name Josh would be a mystery to me, other than the HW decided they needed to keep Bill in Matt's sphere. Nola is also his aunt, although they don't know each other well, and Van wouldn't have trusted her anyway. There's Dinah---but she's unreliable. Billy gets out of jail around NYE.

    • That's on Kimmer. As someone posted above...she was offered roles in pilots but she would be part of an ensemble or supporting. She didn't want that so she came back to GL. I don't know what she thought would happen..someone offering her "Here's Kimmer!" or The "Zimmer Comedy Powerhouse Hour" variety show..but her housefrau fans did not have the same pull in HW as they did on the soaps. Forbes and Watros knew that you had to take small parts to get noticed ands start a career in primetime. I know she was in consideration for the wife in Evening Shade, but when you go up against Marilou Henner, the soap diva looses. I could see her frustrated in a role like that, where she has to be the understanding wife with a bit of sass, but she could have made it work, if it wasnt for her huge ego.  I think it would have been an issue haveing all the powerhouse comedy actors surrounding...(lets face it..Alice Ghostly woudl have wiped the floor with her...) but it would have been a good launching padd.
    • Oh good, so I don't have to wait too long haha. I'm glad she cares about seeing Bill graduate. I'm guessing I'm in for a bumpy ride between Bill and Matt, if he's going to be his caretaker? Who else could it be, maybe Josh?

    • Maeve makes a few sporadic appearances, but returns full-time the next spring/summer. She's back in time to see Bill and Michelle graduate, although she skulks around town and wasn't going to tell anyone she was alive. She comes back wearing this HUGE hat---which was a throwback to the old Vanesaa. lol.
    • Aww, yeah it's very heartbreaking and I mostly enjoyed the Nola/Vanessa scenes because they finally let their walls down and came together in a beautiful moment. So Nola was at the hospital already and bumped into Vanessa, who had MRI papers that fell out of her hand and Nola went down to pick them up and asked her what was going on. Later, Vanessa confided in her about her disease. Then, Nola told Zachary on the beach (he prodded her and already alluded to knowing something was going on with Van), and then Vanessa found out she told him and got a little upset. Now, however, Nola is strangely absent while everyone is mourning her death. I'm curious if Nola will actually tell people about her MRI results. I would assume so. Only Nola, Rick, Roger and Zachary know anything, although there is the MRI results letter from the mail that everyone has missed seeing at home. I'm sure it'll all come out at some point. But... I just saw the next episode and the opening already cut Vanessa out and added Dahlia and Zachary. I guess Maeve is gone for a long time

That will break my heart seeing the town continue to mourn her and assume she's dead. I can't wait to see her return though, and I have to imagine feelings will be torn between loving that she's alive and being very angry she did all of this. While I hate what Vanessa is doing, I'm happy to hear it's not totally against her character. I think you're right, had Henry still been around, she wouldn't put him through this. I'm still surprised she is with Bill, though. I get her feelings on Matt, because she wants him to move on, but still very heartbreaking. I'm glad this was Maeve's choice to have a break vs. being fired.    Interesting, so I'm curious to see who they eventually pair Phillip with. They're flirting with a Phillip/Annie pairing, but I'm not sure if they'll go that route with the Jeva drama, her growing pill addiction, and Rick's past with her.  Ugh, yeah I'm so sad to see Bridget do a total 180 in the last couple weeks. She has always been a strong character from what I've seen, but now she's just bending over backwards to get Hart to love her and it reeks of desperation. Yeah, sure, this new Hart is eye candy, but I'm already tired of seeing Hart/Dinah have sex all over Springfield and the Cayman Islands haha.
    • Yes.  I remember them together during the early summer of 1986.  They didn't share scenes again for 30 years until 2017 because Carrie wasn't on the show when Anna returned during Sydney's kidnapping.
