That was around the time I got into DOOL too. I got into OLTL with the Marty's rape story. And I didn't really get into AMC until the baby switch story, but I've watched seldomly since 93. I started watching GH when SJB showed up as Carly. I had a major crush on her when she was on VR Troopers(yes I watched it LOL) so I followed her there.

I grew up watching ABC soaps with my family.

OLTL: Cord and Tina hooked me to the show

AMC: SMG playing a mighty fierce Kendall

GH: Sarah Brown as Carly

Days: Bo and Billie's romance as played by RKK and LR

Y&R: Amelia Heinle's debut as Victoria

B&B: Ridge and Taylor and later the Amber/Rick/Kimberly triangle

DAYS - I started watching when Carly was buried alive. It got me started on watching the show but Austin (PM) & Carrie was why I stayed with the show, and then I was just hooked. Later came the stuff with Sami, Bo & Billie and Hope's return...

I was always watching GL since I was little, but the storyline that got me hooked was with Alex and Fletcher stuck on an island and the return of Roger Thorpe. I still watched it religiously after that and kind of quit watching after 1994 because the show was just blah. Then, I started getting hooked again with Annie Dutton of course. I stopped watching GL after the budget cuts in 2005.

With DAYS, I started watching again with the Kristen/John/Marlena triangle. God I miss Kristen Dimera. :(

Most of my family has always watched soaps, so they were always a part of my childhood, but the first time I really follwed daily was when Frisco and Felicia started on GH. From the moment Frisco rips off her hat and realizes she is a girl I loved them! From there I got into Anna, and pretty much watched daily until Monty's second tenure, and then came back full force when Luke and Luara returned under Labine's team.

OLTL was my grandmother's favorite, but I really didn't get into it until Megan and Sarah arrived, then I loved it under Malone round one.

AMC I didn't even watch until SMG as Kendal Hart.

ATWT hooked me with Simon and Lily on the Island, and Rose is her twin. Carly going for her money and having Hal's baby, Barbara being burned. Hogan hooked me there.

GL I love, but only the old clips on Youtube. Had I given it a chance back then it would have all been about Holly/Roger/Alex/Blake/Alan-Michael/Eleni for me. I kind of got into GL during the Marina/Ben storyline, but then they made him crazy to prop Marina/Shayne, and I droppped it for good.

Days- I loved many characters, but the ones that got me hooked were Bo and Hope, and I still love them.

Y&R- Nina has a Chancellor baby, follwed by David Kimble hooked me there.

Y&R: Just absorbed it. My earliest memory was Lorie Brooks taunting her sister Lesley in a mental institution. I was hooked from then.

B&B: Donna Logan and Rocco were conspiring to get Bill Spencer photographed naked after he had published/gotten naked pictures of her.

More historically:

GH: Audrey Hardy tries desperately to conceal the paternity of her baby, Tommy. And Scotty Baldwin's mother goes crazy. After a lapse, Lassa Fever and Gloria Monty hooked me back in.

AMC: Erica Kane pretends to want a baby with Tom Cudahy, but she's really on the pill and opening a disco. Tom finds out and goes BALLISTIC. And again, later, Palmer lets his daughter Nina go blind, rather than let her be with Cliff Warner. Plus Jesse and Jenny in New York.

OLTL: Like everyone: Karen Wolek on the witness stand, confessing she is a hooker. And again this week, Gigi: "Translate. I don't speak bitch".

I was born during an AMC episode and watched all my life. But it wasn't until was 13 and the Phantom Erica storyline started that I got hooked. Susan was awesome, Vincent was really getting a chance to shine, and their chemistry together....OMFG. I've still yet to see anything like it. Their scenes in Erica's basement are probably my favorite ever on AMC. I laughed, I cried, I yelled, I gasped, and then I was sitting on the edge of my chair holding my breath as they almost shared a first kiss. What those two did in those scenes is going to be hard to top for me. Vincent should have won the Emmy for those scenes.

    • Great episode, better than what the spoilers said. The gambling story was tolerable but Jon Lindstrom sucks in the role. Ambyr Michelle continues to shine. The diner and country club scenes were very well executed.  The Jan and Leslie scenes were very good! My favorite is Eva, now followed by Nicole.
    • Today's show was good. The only part I didn't care for were the Derek/Ashley scenes. I think they are bland together and Derek is very bland by himself. He is the least interesting character on the show IMO. I don't think they have much chemistry together. I appreciated Jan's reaction to Leslie. I like how regular/realistic her and Mona are as characters. Jan came across as very believable of being appalled and even hurt by Leslie's treatment of them and towards Eva in the diner.  Leslie continues to try and manipulate people with IMO her fake caring routine, only to show her true colors after she's confronted/called out for her treatment of others. I continue to dislike the way she mistreats Eva. Speaking of Eva she was great again today. I love her and I like how Martin comforted her in the diner. I liked that Vernon showed concern for her as well. They (especially Martin) will come around quicker to her before others (like the Dupree women) will. I also am glad to see her and Ted continue to bond and him behaving like a father towards her/helping her. He's the only one in her life who is fully trying to stand by her. I look forward to seeing their relationship grow.
    • Xander was screaming at Felicity.  He did do something wrong.  Felicity was clearly upset by it and Cat/Chad told him to stop.  That's fair.  No one deserves to be yelled at their job-and even I think this plot point is too preachy.  It's not acceptable behavior for anyone to do that.
    • When Derek finally appears with only a towel, and his chest and pecs/nipples are finally shown, I say yes.

    • Now, actually not. That thought had not even made it into my head, so, no, so far anyway, I've not seen that. Haven't seen today yet. What you're describing is warped & I think she's feeling genuine empathy & sister bond.
    • Xander was the bigger person apologizing to Cat when he didn't do anything wrong.  he wasn't yelling at Felicity whatsoever, he was asking if she possibly had given them the wrong order by mistake.  He was trying to get to the bottom of what was going on, but Chad/Cat were trying to white knight Felicity even though Felicity was being treated just like anyone else in that situation.   She was the one to bring the order out to them, and usually the person that brings the order out is the one that puts the order together.    I'm still getting a read on the Cat character.   I think she seems to work well when interacting with everyone other than Chad.   Perhaps the new writers can move Cat out of Chad's orbit into another orbit. Paulina has been written quite well the few times she's been on since the writer change.  I think Jackee is enjoying the new writing.. you can tell when she's on screen.
    • LOL - well, Peter was included in the grandkids' section, each named specifically with their $100K trusts.  It must have been the abs...

In Henry's will, he said it had to do with Hart having a chance at being a better person than his father, since his father isn't providing for him (I'm paraphrasing here, but it was about Roger).  Still a little surprised...
    • I'm glad the truth is all out regarding Roman and Kate's secrets from each other, and also happy Roman didn't make much of the letter forgery, because why would he even care? They are a good solid couple. However, not to be mean, when Roman had his little flashback at the DiMera mansion he seemed more like an old man that was lost. How wonderfully aggravating that we still don't know what the hell happened with Johnny the night EJ was shot. I can't wait to find out. I've my feelings clear on Paulina, but she was definitely written much more adult and Jackée even seemed a bit toned down, for the better. Nothing boring about either scenes for me. I like the little drama between Xander and Cat, for the newness of the interaction alone. AnnaLynne McCord is much better at material where she's not acting dementedly lovesick. Seeing that side to Cat was integral to remembering she's not a moron, and I am definitely intrigued by the heck could be calling her. Kevin Lambert returning is a cute little surprise. I never watched Chadwick Hopson in the role though, was he any good?

    • I would love if Sarah were already pregnant and then, even with the reveal that she knew about the letter, that she and Xander would work on things to keep their family intact. But I fear that time is running out. Whatever Philip is doing is probably going to mess up everything. I do like that Kayla and Sarah mentioned the Horton legacy with the hospital and that Kayla would much prefer Xander financing it over EJ. Xander is suddenly Horton adjacent. Belle is as usual a massive hypocrite whining about 'everything' Xander has done to her family when EJ raped her sister, kept her cancer ridden toddler from her, helped Nicole keep the baby she had stolen from Sami for a year, shot her dad in the head, and as recently as last year railroaded her innocent teen nephew into prison where he was beaten up. Sure, Xander shot Brady and Marlena but both of them seem to be over it. Cat should have just graciously accepted Xander's apology. I actually like that he treated Felicity like anybody else and did not coddle her. I hope we see him apologizing though. I wonder if Cat knows that Xander shot their granddad Kon dead last year? She might like him better if she knew. I wonder who is calling her? My money is on Gwen for some reason. I feel like Cat and Chad will get comfy and then we will find out Abby is out there and Gwen has had her. EJ and Cat were far more palatable than Chad and Cat, but EJ makes everybody easier to tolerate. Roman and Kate vs Johnny and Paulina... not sure which were more boring. I guess I'll go with Roman and Kate because he speaks so darn slowly now. Philip is entertaining the heck out of me. I hope he ends up the hero who saves Bo. I think it would be hysterical if he managed to get his hands on the Versovix and EJ ends up buying a useless money pit of a hospital.
