Maureen Garrett (EJ Ryan) in a 1985 Crayola markers commercial at approx. 9:13. I figured this commercial is in the GL board but didn't recall seeing it posted here during this partial RH episode. The entire episode was already up without commercials.

I'm sure that episode of "Ryan's Hope" was originally aired back on August 21, 1985.

Thanks for the extra info.

I think at that time in October 1984 on WCVB-TV Channel 5 in Boston, "Ryan's Hope" was airing at its new time: 11:30AM EDT, with "Newscenter 5 Midday" airing at 12PM EDT, and the other daytime soap "Loving" was airing at its news time: 12:30PM EDT.

Finally got back to reading my old Soapnet notes (and later a few YouTube notes)

Some more things I didn't remember-

This was from when Max was looking at slides to get info on Jill in 1984l

Jill went to the University of Michigan (and then Yale Law).

Roger's full name was Roger Harlan Coleridge.

Faith's name was harder to to make out -- looks like possibly Faith Lana or Faith Lara Coleridge.

Judith's maiden was Grayson.

In those first episodes of Bess and Maggie it was said Jill was Jillian Elizabeth Coleridge and Ed was the one who suggested the name Jillian.

In Ryan's kitchen, during Frank's campaign, where TV Interviewer Jeri Jerome said Maeve's name was Mary Maeve Colleary Ryan. A few months later, Maeve was telling the story of her first confession and the Mary Maeve was said then, too.

I believe it was mentioned a few times that Mary was named Mary Maeve after her mother.

Thanks. I didn't catch this until Soapnet's 3rd airing. I did remember they said Siobhan was named after Johnny.

In an interview during her China Beach stint Marg Helgenburger mentions RH.

THE NATIONAL COLLEGE NEWSPAPER NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 1990

Helgenberger attended Northwestern U. and won several acting roles, culminating in a performance of “The Taming of the Shrew.” Little did she know that a casting person was seated in the audience and that she would be noticed. Nor did she know that she would soon find herself playing the part of Siobhan Ryan for three and a half years on “Ryan’s Hope.” About soap operas, she said, “They are very grueling.” “It’s a new script everyday. The hours aren’t as bad as they are with ‘China Beach,’ where we film mostly at night. But I have to be honest. At least to me, (working on a daytime soap opera) is not gratifying at all. “It’s probably one of the most boring things you can get involved with,” she said. But the days of soaps are a quickly fading memory for this small-town girl turned star whose career looks to be anything but boring.

More notes from during the SN airings and comment or two from the SN forum

See Richard Muenz Joe more as fisherman Joe and nearly all of his run dressing casually while Roscoe Born did not seem like a fisherman and when he arrived was businessman Joe and wearing suits.

I've said this before-- Daniel Hugh Kelly's Frank seemed like he was born to wear a tux and I don't think Andrew Robinson's Frank would have been all that comfortable wearing them to the many functions in Frank's political future.

Ilene Kristen as Delia in the short dress and Randall Edwards' Delia wore dresses below the knee. Both wore shawls. Ilene's Delia didn't wear Judith Coleridge's necklace while Randall's Delia wore it a lot. Delia had returned the necklace to Jill after they had words at Mary's wedding. Jill and Faith each wore it at least once. I figured it was kept in a safe at the Coleridge home -- so Delia had access to it again after she married Roger --but don't know why Randall's Delia was still wearing it after she and Roger separated and divorced.

Jill's multiple rings on her fingers and multiple earrings were liked on the SN forum but some thought they inappropriate or unprofessional for a lawyer to wear when she was working.

Faith Catlin's Faith and Catherine Hicks' Faith rarely wore jewelry (Catherine's Faith did wear the engagement ring and a necklace [a chain and then Judith's necklace] a couple times).Delia had even commented that Faith does not wear jewelery. Karen Morris Gowdy's Faith wore jewelry, necklaces, earrings, and rings right from when she first began (even wore the multiple rings on her fingers like sister Jill). Karen's Faith also wore nail polish which Faith's Faith & Catherine's Faith did not.

I've mentioned this before that Randall and Catherine wouldn't have worked. Ilene and Catherine matched up well --as did Randall's Delia and Karen's Faith who were taller and fancier.

It was a cute distinction between sisters that over the years Jill was given the gift of toe rings and Faith was given the gift of toe socks. Each were delighted and laughed out loud at the gift. (Jill said she would consider wearing them to work)

Clem's earring was also very cool on the SN board.
