Sophia had a warmth and charm about her...a vulnerable aura of that made men want to protect and love her.  She used her looks and those other attributes to her advantage.

It's why I liked the Ken/Andie plot against Sophia in the final year of the show because he was younger and attractive.  And he lavished her with attention, which she ate up after seeing CC hooking up with Santana again.

And it was an interesting reversal because she was used by Ken for her money....same way she latched onto the count.

And I agree Cassie should have been her vengeful step daughter.  Kind of like India was to Alexandra on GL.

She wouldn't have been the first or last. I've only seen a few of the episodes during that time, so I can't say. I will say, there are some people who are just blessed with something that draws others to them.

I also think that at heart, Sophia is very kind and a bit vulnerable. She can turn viper when her people are threatened. But she doesn't start that way with most people. She even had sympathy for Gina at the beginning. And she certainly sees through Mason's bravado when he is hurting. And the private fashion show scenes certainly lead to the belief that she was probably also pretty good.

But that's the thing. We don't know that she did latch onto him. I have always assumed that Marcello brought her home to the old geezer and the Count latched onto her. She didn't know who she was and responded to the kindness. We do know Marcello took her from SB and CC and that she didn't know who she was when he did. And she might have latched on because we know she did latch on to CC. Totally a missed opportunity. And it would have given Judith McConnell a storyline other than Oh, CC- which is always good in my opinion.

Totally agreed, after TJ we saw such an interesting (if not explicitly explored) portrayal of what it is like for an aging Hollywood beauty.

That's an interesting perspective and it would seem like Kelly inherited many of Sophia's traits.  They were both kind, until you crossed them, and they were both adored by rich Europeans without having to do much in order attract them.

I really hate Warren's addiction story. I'm okay with gambling stories, but it feels lame for him to say it's because Mommy and Daddy got divorced. Warren, you moved out of their house several years ago and Daddy wasn't around that often. You are a grown azz man. Your reaction has been less mature than Brandon's reactions to his dad's death, his new dad's coma, his mom's death, and being shipped off to a woman he's only known a few years and is way too clingy. And he's six! I just wish there had been a more organic reasoning.

Maybe no one has told Warren about getting Christmas presents at 2 different houses now.

As often as she allowed it from what I've seen.

Warren's addiction is interesting because the seeds were sewn early on that he wanted money for nothing.  He dove for treasure, he stole the coins, and he talked about getting investors for a beach club when he was lifeguard.  This made sense because Lionel was not a great provider, he was covetous of Channing's lifestyle, and he wanted more stability than relying on his grandmother (especially once she began to favor Brick).

On the other hand, he had turned his life around when he bought the newspaper.  Dylan and CC set him up to fail in the casino, and if he just thought about it for a second, he could have used it as an opportunity for an expose to bring down the Capwells.  Also, his addiction goes from 0-60 almost overnight, and there were no long term consequences from that story.  Sophia recovered immediately and CC never did anything with the mortgage to Minx's house.

Didn't John Allen Nelson leave SB after that story ended? Warren popped up again briefly the next year by a different actor. JAN could act and he was certainly handsome, but it seems that he was just lost in the shuffle at SB.

He did. John Allen Nelson got the short-end of the stick where Warren was concerned. It almost makes me wish his pairing with Eden had happened, because it would've created something more for the character.

It goes without saying that unlike Robin's contract being extended after Princess Bride, JAN did not get the same treatment when he took time off of SB to make his magnum opus, Hunk.

Is that what he is primarily known for to non-SB audiences? I have always thought it was Baywatch and Sheena (it ran on WB in the early 00s). He was also on "24"  for a couple of seasons in the mid 2000s which was a big-deal show back then.

    • I thought Daniel Goddard did a great job in those scenes with Joss. He might be the rare villain this show got rid of too soon, because it feels like he had great potential as a character we'd love to hate.

At some point, Victor, you must blame yourself that both Caroline and Fiona didn't want him to know they bore his sons.  But, looking back, I thought Bo would be richer as Victor's firstborn son than he turned out to be.

    • How did you guess that! Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. Anita was serving "solo artist" realness the whole time. Stole the show.

    • Bye bye Dalton. Unfortunately this is going to fall on Sonny though, when for once he didn’t kill anyone.

"Grief, mental illness... and a handjob." Let's get done with the hardcore drama first... before we continue with the lighter stuff. Bo's condition worsened after the hot psychiatrist gave the risky idea to SHOW him Sarah's body. Dr. Jonas is triggering these people into catastrophes every day. It's almost like he gets pleasure out of this. Well... they did show him Sarah and the result was BAD. Bo went into a crazy meltdown, locked himself with the corpse... and started putting blankets on her to warm her up. Disturbing scene... yet powerful work from Robert S. Woods. Bo's resolve came at the end of December 7th's episode when he let Viki come inside and talk to him. I've chosen this as the clip of the day - anyone who ever underestimates or puts down soap actors, just because they are working in a soap... should see this. And then we'll talk. Very powerful.  Viki did what she does best - performed a miracle almost, getting Bo to open up and let the family in. And after that... everyone was looking at her like she is God. The children... Clint himself... everyone standing by the door expecting "savior Viki" to continue being the mother figure they desperately need. But Viki is also a woman. Woman, whose heart is no longer in that house with Clint... She wants to be with Sloan so bad... she has started looking at her husband in a different, colder way. He even came to her bedroom in his robe, probably expecting Viki to invite him in... but he got a chilly response.  Alongside Bo's terrifying breakdown... there were some grim events unfolding at Asa's house as well. Dorian and Blair's fighting made Addie become aggressive towards Asa of all people. She attempted to stab him with a pair of scissors. Asa then finally said "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!". It's either the baby or your sick mother. She must make a choice. What he doesn't realize... is that there is no baby. When he decided to contact Blair's doctor to inquire about her pregnancy... she knew she had to act FAST - likely fake a miscarriage. Jesus Christ, Blair!  This leads me to the storyline that consistently disappoints and undermines the overall mood of the show. Just picture having these intense storylines - involving... family, breakups, betrayal, grief, mental illness, and manipulation... and then suddenly, you see Alex giving Mortimer a handjob in the Buchanan Palace restaurant amidst all these other powerful scenes. Some might argue that this is precisely why such moments are there - to dilute the drama and darkness... but the result is far from enjoyable. It turns the entire show into a circus. You can't expect me to be emotional in one scene and then witness Alex reaching into Mortimer's pants... without cringing. It's a bit too abrupt... too early. It ruins everything and makes me despise... despise the characters involved. It's pathetic.    Overall -  6.5/10 - it would be a perfect 10 if you removed Alex and Mortimer. But I can't do that and I've decided it's enough giving them (the writers) slack about this. It's annoying, not funny and needs to end. If this was Bold... I would have been tearing them to pieces... but just because they've given me so much good material... I've forgiven idiocy time and time again. I have nothing against handjobs (quite the contrary actually), but I can't see them in the midst of a man crying over a corpse and a mentally ill woman attacking someone with scissors.    Clip of the day Viki consoles grieving Bo.
