Yes. A part of me thinks they made a mistake not keeping her on, but then I think that that full level of crazy is best left on a short term basis and they were better off not trying to tone her down. I do think that they should have extended her story to have her more with Mason and Pamela. That whole story with Mason's mother and family should have been big but it never seemed to work out.

Had she not been written into a corner, Elena could have easily filled the place of Eden when MW CHOSE to leave. Between Elena and Kelly, they could have had filled Eden's place--Kelly the heroine and Elena with Cruz.

If you get the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel [separate from the regular channel] and have insomnia or a DVR, there is an episode airing at 3:00 a.m. ET called "Blue and Broken Harted" from 1982 - meaning, before Santa Barbara - that lists both Nicolas Coster and Louise Sorel as part of the guest cast. Cool!

A Martinez appeared in a 1983 episode of Hart to Hart known as "Straight Through the Hart."

Speaking of TV guest appearances, would it have been a good idea for Marcy Walker to appear as a guest star on Murder, She Wrote?

Ah, I LOVED the Mason/Julia Baby Contract and the sloooooooow burn with Mason and Julia. Soaps have no idea how to do that anymore. People fall in "love" now in the span of a day.

It's funny that Julia was on the shoe a year and a half before the show started the process of pairing them.  I often wonder had that not worked, would Julia have been written off?

Can't say. But I'm not so sure. I mean, she was still to be a part of the story, but as interloper to Mason/Tori as originally envisioned, until TPTB took note of the chemistry between NLG/LD.

I recall reading somewhere that Julia was eventually supposed to be paired with Robert Thaler's Pearl. I liked the guy, he was offbeat. But it seems like all of Julia's dalliances pre-Mason seemed firmly B-level, sidekick level. I think her pairing with Mason definitely helped her to break into the "big leagues", so to speak.

I didn't know that Julia and pearl might have been paired...i saw some episodes from fall 1986 after her latest fling didn't work and she and pearl were hanging out...and I did note chemistry.

I also thought that she and Dylan (the guy she found on the beach fall 1985) had chemistry..and was surprised the show opted for him to go with Kelly.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.

    • I enjoy BF better on Days than on YR.   Chad is greater than Cane, in my opinion.
    • Ick! Seeing MS and BF making out as the characters onscreen was just ewwww.
    • The SON board.

    • That was the best part of Tuesday's episode.  Martin and Smitty and their family are boring.
