AMC: How will Greenlee be written?

Most of the promos seem to be pushing the fact that "The Real Greenlee" is some mega soap bitch and even the marathon episodes showcased that side of her. By undoing the crash storyline and softening her a bit, won't all the returning/new viewers be disappointed? Her current storyline doesn't exactly scream "she put the B in Witch."

they'll write her the same. She is the new heroine and she's been done wrong by Kendall and Aidan. I expect her to act like a bitch once she finds out about that but they will play it up with her as the victim as she has been for the past few months

Well, since Greenlee's going to fall ill soon, I don't think we're going to see a b!tchy side of her yet. It may be a while until we see how she's written. My preference would be to see her as the b!tchy and deceiving Greenlee - but I don't want to see her propping Kendall and Zach or vice versa. I want her to have her own story, that stays true to her character. I hope B&E change the way they write her, and something tells me that they will because of the way ABC is promo-ing this. We'll see...

Thats the writers fault, not Sabine. With the writers still in their place, I doubt we will see a change. They wrote Greenlee as a bitch out for blood when she first came abaord but somewhere along the line they decided they wanted to make her into a nice girl and she got tamed down.

Exactly. Annie is basically the exact replica of Rylee era Greenlee. Always kissing Ryan's feet, praising everything he does, holding him up as the worlds conquering hero.

I agree. When Greenlee first came back, it was still most of the writing team (sans McTavish) that was in place when Rebecca left. The character was written vengeful and bitchy up until the Crash storyline -- then B&E took over and totally mis-wrote the character because they clearly didn't know the character.

    • How are we 50+ episodes in and Hayley has had little to no independent character development? She started off as one of the show's heavy hitters in the first couple of weeks due to storyline but has faded into the background more and more every subsequent week. They've made no effort to integrate the character into the canvas outside of being Bill's "child bride." It's really bothering me because I like the actress and I think she has potential. Can she get a friend or at least scenes without Bill? I'm now at the point where I like Derek more than Ashley. That's how bad things have gotten with her. The actress isn't terrible but she isn't very good either and the writing for her been abysmal.
    • I find it so odd people have such a hard time with Kat’s wardrobe, I just assume they haven’t been exposed to much diversity.

I assume no commentary is required. Oh, hell, here is my girl Dani in a totally different & new pose, may it reappear with some frequency. One question: did any of us have any idea what kind of special friends Pamela & Dani really were? Upon reflection just yesterday Dani said, " I need time to figure out the kind of woman I am." What are we to make of this? Is this the kind of woman she has figured out? If so, odd that it only took a day.
    • I dressed exactly like Kat at her age. Have you been there? I lived there for a decade and I miss it.
    • Making her Chrissie was inspired, but if they hadn't gotten Roger and Holly back, would it have meant as much? Lord, save us from another Shayne. No offense to KdP, but she's just not my cup of tea. Maybe she just upped her game for OLTL, but she's uninspired on GL. Well, you can't have a "bad" Reardon. They could've said Chelsea was the oldest child of the oldest Reardon.

    • After watching a couple of those live performances, I think you may be right.
    • 1999, the last great Daytime Emmys.
    • I'll add to what others have said -- the Xander and Sarah stuff today was really, really good. Kudos to both actors, and to the writers who gave them interesting and real dialogue that explained both characters' points of view. It's unbelievable how much better DAYS is under these new writers.
    • Yeah I don't think he had to prerecord his scenes for the Nurses Ball, unless there was some acoustical/technical situation the show needed.
