Members Y&RWorldTurner
I believe as brimike pointed out, since Y&R's head writers are FiCore members, that alone excludes the show and writing team from being nominated for any type of WGA award. Members Khan
So, Y&R won't be nominated for an award. Big whoop. If awards are all these shows live for today, then no wonder this industry's in trouble.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
This is only if Latham doesn't return after the strike of course and Griffith remains in the HW position. I doubt the show would want to risk that kind of isolation from the WGA, even if being FiCore is within WGA rules...
Members brimike
The other thing is... even if technically the Fi-Core writers are still allowed to be nominated for a WGA award (and I'm still unsure how that all works), they'll certainly be disliked enough that they wouldn't be nominated on principle alone. The other members of the writers' guild that stuck with the strike probably would rather cancel the awards than give it to a member who went FiCore during a strike... even if it is technically allowed. Members juppiter
Hope Harmel Smith is a Friend of Julie from PC, so it's not that surprising that she would be asked to join AMC right before the strike.
Administrator Toups Posted January 8, 2008 Author Administrator Share Posted January 8, 2008 It's surprising that she's writing becauses she's never written for daytime before. That's why I found it weird.
