WTF happened on Thursday & Friday that gave DAYS a 1.9? Hmmmmmm.....

GH went up. I didn't happen to think it was a bad week. But it wasn't good either. I guess my standards are different. Call me crazy, but I enjoy seeing families happy before Christmas, not burying their loved ones after they were brutally murdered.

On the plus side, it was nice to see Bobbie interacting with Luke and whatnot.

*sigh*

My annoyance with the lack of desire to change the regime at GH is dwindling. Why? Because my loyalty to this show is dwindling. I guess the worst thing to be as a soap fan is apathetic to the show you once loved. No longer do I get frustrated when my favorites are fired to make room for less talented actors. No longer do I get upset with story direction. I just simply turn the channel. It's the best thing I learned how to do.

AMC deserves the ratings it's been getting. B&E continue to ruin that show. OLTL is stuck between two pieces of monkey crap and it's ratings suffer because of it. Though it also doesn't help that Marcie's been away with that damn baby for what...over 2 months now? I'm all for a nicely paced story, but this is ridiculous. And yes, I'm perfectly aware of what's happening this week and next week on OLTL, and I still say the story has taken too damn long.

ATWT gets the ratings it's getting because they're doing something right. I don't know what that is, because I'm not interested in most of what's going on there, but I'll admit they're making significant strides somehow to improve the writing. And it doesn't hurt when the actors are making an unwatchable story watchable.

nothing really. i don't even watch DOOL tell you the truth..but when i tuned in a hour before GH started just to see how DOOL was doing..and why they were so low on ratings...normaly a soap could be awesome and be down in ratings...but when it comes to DOOL...this show is the inflackmation of why low ratings equal a sucky show..i was bored to tears just watching the crap they were showing..Now i know why they got a 1.9 on thursday/friday.

I'm really enjoying DOOL these days. I think if it continues on its current path, the ratings will reflect how good a show it is becoming. It was the one show that had a very good Christmas episode. I think that may show up soon.

As far as ABC, I'm just really not into all the OLTL love. It isn't, in my opinion, suffering from lead-in. It's just not interesting. OLTL refuses to use its entire ensemble cast no matter who the writer is. If you like the current handful of characters who are shown, then I guess it's interesting. If you don't, zzzzzzzzz.

GH really is very very dark. I like Sonny and his new girlfriend. The rest of it is just too much death, particularly at Christmas.

I'm just saying a show should instantly draw you in as a viewer..but DOOL doesn't have that kind of star power..i was bored just watching it..imagine if people were just flipping through channels and saw DOOL?..what Exactly would they find entertaining in DOOL? NOTHING. just some cheesy soap opera..Now GH has that star power to draw in veiwers..why you ask? two words..."THE MOB" has a strong force in todays population..there's no denying that.

For one, Days has been up or stable for 3 weeks so usually a decrease is likely, especially in the current ratings climate. However, given this was going into holiday time and given the vets were on and prominent and the patient story was kicking into overdrive that week this is of concern. I was hoping to at least stand pat but they at least stayed above 2.0 in tied for 5th Not saying much but still.. The show getting 1.9's for things that the fans said they wanted is kind of annoying to me but, hopefully, in next week's ratings, Days rebounds. It should because last year's Christmas show got a nice number and things were much more active and the patient was running around.

As for the rest of the soaps, you can probably thank Kristina Wagner for GH's bump because I know that is the only reason why I tuned in. That and the Luke and Tracy stuff. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next ratings for them.

Not a horrible week but, boy, di I remember the days when around that time in December the soaps saw mega gains for like a 3-4 week period. They would come down to earth but it was nice to see so many people watch when they were home and such. Now, it's +1 and +2 and it just looks really depressing.

Yes, and GH also has many fans who feel that they only time the show is any good is during May, Feb. and November.

If you would take some time to watch Days more than one day, you just may like it.

But, I guess we will agree to disagree.

I would really like to know why Brian Frons' job isn't on the line for these horrible ratings. All three ABC soaps are struggling.

Are they going to wait around and see if the returns of Sarah Brown, Debbi Morgan, the guy who plays Jesse and Rebecca Buding will give them a bump in the ratings before they decide whether or not to fire him? or do they not care about daytime tv anymore and they want him to destroy it?

but the thing is. GH is consistently good every day. when there's not a mob shootout. or anything exciting. the show stays good because the characters are equally entertaining. now i admit. whenever sweeps rolls around the corner. GH is at there best..but even on a day when there's no sweeps month. GH is still awesome to watch. the characters are intriguing in a way that will draw in veiwers that are just tuning in. and the Action is undeniable. the best in daytime/TV shows. just watch my video. and see for yourself.

I don't even know what that highlighted part is supposed to mean. I'm very aware of what I like and GH is showing very little of it right now. I don't watch Days, but is that supposed to be some kind of insult? What gave you the idea I don't watch GH? It should be pretty obvious I do. And just because I don't sit around praising GH doesn't mean I am "focused" on bashing it. Oh, and if anyone is ignorant, it's those that can't hear an opposing opinion without trying to make things personal.

    • I agree. For now. I am sure in a year's time...a new family (or old) will start to appear on the show.
    • There's some irony in Philip being forgiven, because it forces everyone to admit that Victor was wrong to change his will.  Everyone, eventually including Xander, (I presume), seems to think it was wrong for Victor to divide his estate in Xander's favor.  I appreciated Stephanie forgiving Philip, because she's got no skin in that game.  But, Belle's line about Philip missing Xander because he misses Bo did not ring true.  I think Philip would be sad if Bo dies, but I think he's more concerned currently about Xander. I am enjoying this EJ mystery so much that I am hereby taking a vow not to read spoilers.  I am also vowing — for the last time — to stop harping on this, but: the concept of a “sepsis treatment” remains absurd. Hospitals prevent sepsis through vigilant infection control; once sepsis sets in, it causes multiple organ failures. Treatment involves supporting each failing organ individually. The notion that a single medication could magically reverse organ failure is medically laughable. However, I like the contrast of Kim going through cancer, which is incurable in their universe.  Kayla's comment on the health of both of her siblings was both heartbreaking and an interesting twist.  MBE is also totally underrated.  She is carrying the weight of so many stories.   And, I like the use of Kayla as an audience surrogate.  She's arguably the most "real" person in Salem. Kayla isn't psychic, she wasn't SORASed, she's not a billionaire, and she doesn't have a bionic eye.  So, I enjoy that we get her perspective of the nuttiness that surrounds her. However, I don't get what gives her the authority to turn down EJ's offer.  I understand that they need a hospital figurehead to show us scenes of the competition to buy the hospital.  But, unless the entire administration has been let go, the Chief of Staff wouldn't make those choices.
    • But why worry about something that might not happen? Right now, most things revolve around the Duprees. We have no idea if or how long that will continue. For now, it's working.
    • The Duprees not having any staff is a bugbear for me. They've included the background staff at the Country Club but no one at the Dupree home. Even just an extra bringing in a tray of food/drinks or responding to a request from Anita would suffice.
    • Shut up, Dante and Lois.  I actually don't mind this particular soap trope, but in the context of this storyline, it just feels forced and unnecessary. If anything, this Dante/Gio tension needed to begin months ago. Plus, this storyline, in general, isn't doing Lois any favors either.  Emma comforting Gio was really sweet though. It's definitely time for the two of them to have their first kiss. And, Joss playing Secret Agent Barbie will just never work.
    • Note to makeup - Smitty’s eyebrows, bad clamshell look.

    • Okay I can buy that when Brook Lynn was a teen.  Now she knows the child is a boy one would think she'd be slightly suspicious.  Then again, Gio looks nothing like either of them so maybe not lol.
    • I've been behind & just got caught up & the last 3 days were amazing!
