Carolyn Hinsey: Jack and Katie get married this week, which makes me wonder what kind of mail you're getting from Carly fans.

Terri Columbino: I don't read my mail and I don't read the Internet anymore because it makes me mad. Carly can do no wrong, and Katie is the ***** in all this?

C: Katie had her fans too, but the Carly fans are more vocal. Were all the opinions starting to affect how you play her?

T: Yes. it started making me wimp out on scenes because I wanted people to like me. But I don't care of the (Carly) fans hate me anymore. People are flawed. I'm over it. I'm bring Katie's spunk back.

C: It's so weird, like if Carly and jack don't end up together then the Carjackers have "Lost"

T: Right, You should write an article on the psychology of that. Because they really feel like they're losing.

PJ you know I love you, but it was stated in the magazines shortly after Sarah's departure that the hatemail she receieved from some in the Carly/Jack fanbase helped her in her decision to leave the show. I'm sorry, but when fans send threatening mail, wishing death upon you and/or your kids, that's too damn far and I don't blame her for leaving.

Ryan, I love you but, it was stated from the minute Sarah signed that her stay was six months, PERIOD, end of story. She had even refused (depending on who you listen to) an offer to reprise the role of Carly because she didn't want to be "tied down" in a long term contract. And that "bastion of the press" that reported intense "hate mail" was SID. Not exactly the Washington Post, kwim? I'm not disputing that people didn't like her, or even sent her "intense" mail. But somehow, after coming from and ABC soap with a reputation for rabid fans, I doubt she felt "threatened" enough to leave her job. Not to slam Sarah, but she also got into a "brouhaha" with the producers of Cold Case, claiming she was offered a contract role, when she was only given a contract for six episodes.

Teri could have said exactly what she wanted to, without any hint of slamming ANY fans, or her co-star Maura. It's called TACT. This isn't the first time Teri's mouth has stirred things up either.

Maybe if she wants to understand why some people have turned on Katie, she should watch her own damn show, and see Katie swilling champagne while Carly's getting sniped at by Jack or Parker. Or see how Katie smirks and accuses Carly at nearly every turn. I don't know how many times someone has told me, "Hey, if you hate Katie so much" (and I do...I totally cop to it), "she must be a great actress." WELL, from the way it sounds, Teri doesn't even buy that arguement. She just wants everyfriggin'one to LIKE her.

I was posting in that message board that slammed Terri left and right; and they did it in such a nasty manner too; all because of her wanting to honor something to a different fanbase than the one they (Matie fans) wanted her to.

I read the comments and they were downright NASTY....In fact, I made mention of those comments to Ryan at the time that they happened....

While I don't like the character of Katie as I once did, I do like Terri Colombino....and to add irony of it all, I got an autograph photograph in the mail from her...so, in some light, she must read some of her mail/emails that come to her.

I see nothing wrong with Terri supporting Skatie fans, but IMO it should NOT be at the expense of Matie fans. She can support both, and if she feels she can't do that, then it's best to just not say anything at all.

I didn't read those comments but I certainly don't doubt it as some of those same people are still bashing her and I did see things they said about Jennifer and Henry and the actors that portrayed them when they came between Matie, both on their fanboard and elsewhere. They were vile and if they would write hate mail to somebody they had been a fan of it is not hard to believe they might do it to others too. Even though Terri posted on that board, I never saw her ask them to stop attacking the others.

The thing is those people were definitely not Carjack fans, so while some Carjack fans may go way over the top, they aren't the only ones that do it. I don't condone hate mail for any actor, but Terri is far from the only one that has received it and by no stretch of the imagination are Carjack fans the only ones that have ever sent it. So why single only them out and with a broad sweep fo the whole fanbase when it is most likely the minority that do it? With the way a few of the former Matie fans still bash her, some of them may well be still sending hate mail themselves.

For the record, I don't want anything to think I'm arguing or anything. But I know my post will sound this way....

God forbid an actor or actress show that they happen to like one pairing over another. It's not like Terri was at a fan event with Mark Collier, a fan asks her which Mike she liked working with the best, and she says something like "Shawn Christian because he was like the best Mike ever.".....while Mark is onstage (::cough::cough::Rebecca Herbst::cough::cough:). Actors have preferences too. They know many fans have their favorites and it's totally unfair to ignore one fanbase while promoting another (::cough::cough::Rebecca Herbst::cough::cough:.

I remember when all that BS went down between Terri and the Matie/Skatie fans. And IMO, Terri got a raw deal. They got mad b/c she did an interview with the Skatie board? Maybe the other times when the Matie fans asked her, she didn't have the time, and managed to have the time when the Skatie board asked her to. I'm not making excuses for her, I'm just saying.

There are people in fanbases that swear allegiance to one couple and one couple only, and if the actor EVER shows any interest in another, they turn on them. It happens, and I think those kind of fans give many a bad name.

PS...I don't think Terri ever worked with Shawn Christian, but I was just using that as an example (::cough::cough::Rebecca Herbst::cough::cough:)

Haha, funny you mentioned that bc I was thinking of Rebecca when I was reading the comments here. Whatver the actors are fans too and have a right to express their opinions as well. I think its silly of people to get all worked up over that

Me too, and I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna fall on my sword and take the blame for Terri Colombino's unprofessional interview where she bashed an entire fanbase and questioned their sanity (the psychology comment to Hinsey). She's supposed to be the professional, not me. And, frankly, I think she's just pissed because her stint on the frontburner with ATWT's heavy hitters Michael Park and Maura West is probably just about over and she was arrogant enough to actually think that all the Carly/Jack fans would jump on the KACK bandwagon and somehow, she'd usurp Maura's place on the show. If that's true, then that's HER delusion not the Carjack fans.

And, not one Carjack fan is writing this crappy story for her character, the ATWT writers are doing that. So, instead of trying to shift blame for the failure of her story to the mean ole Carjackers not liking her (how childish does that sound?), perhaps she should place the blame where it belongs, on TPTB and the writers at ATWT.

I've been a Carjack fan for the entire ten years they've been in each other's lives and I have never once felt the desire to write a hate letter to any of their third wheels, nor would I ever. It's not THAT important to me. I've disliked the character of Katie since Terri Colombino's first day on the show and long before she was ever involved with Carjack, and I'm guessing I'm not alone either.

The character of Katie has never been well liked by the masses simply because of the silly, immature, fluffy nature of all her stories, so for her to now act like all of a sudden, she's disliked because of Carjack is ridiculous and sounds like sour grapes to me. But, hey, it's just my opinion. She opened herself up for debate and bashing when she threw the first punch in her nasty little interview with Carolyn Hinsey. Did she not have the common sense to realize that what she said would end up in magazines all over the country, not to mention on every soap opera message board in cyberspace????? Maybe somebody should do a piece on HER psychology!

I always thought Anne Sward should have been brought back. She could come back and slap Katie and say.."Snap out of it!"...LOL. Katie not having a father has not really been addressed. It would be a great storyline for Katie/Lyla/Margo and Craig. That's what Terri should be crying about. She should be asking for better story material. The four previously mentioned have had a doozy of a life. Instead of alienating the ATWT fans..... Terri needs to lash her anger on the writers of ATWT and Mr. Goutman.

^While I agree, daytime in general is where it's at partially because the actors don't have the guts to ask for better. Even the ones who've been around for years continue to sign up for more when there's no chance that they'll get a story.

The sad part is I was just starting to have a grudging admiration for her when she finally started to speak out and say stuff like "Katie needs to grow up", and "if someone was trying to be a mother to my daughter, I'd go nuts." That at least showed she understood how the story looked to fans. But after this, she sounds as arrogant and self-involved as Katie.

And if they had written Katie's TRUE character, faults and all, not just this sugary sweet (well, except to Brad), butter wouldn't melt in her mouth hypocritical bitch (who has never once apologized to Carly for anything she did to her FRIEND (regardless of what illegalities Carly committed)), I at least wouldn't be able to bitch about Katie being a Pod. But no, to prop Kack, Katie became perfect. And the entire town bows and scrapes to her between the daily readings of her Saintly Deeds.
