Members Roman
Well, people know that I 've been pushing for John to turn out to be Roman Brady. I have felt that for one huge reason. I thought that Wayne would never come back to Days after what happened the last time was there as Alex North. But, believe it it or not, I am really starting to change my mind, and the reason is because Ed Scott is now Days' new EP. If there are cast cuts t come, IMHO, Drake should be one of them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But what Drake doesn't seem to understand is that it's not what you say, but how you say it. Calling some fine actors and actresses the 'B-Team' and making some other comments has made his stay there now very tension filled. On top of the fact that he now seems to not care about his performance. That is unfair to Dee and the rest of the cast and crew who are working so very hard to keep Days on the air at NBC. So, if I were writing Days, what would I do? I would do this - have John injured in some type of accident where he will require extensive reconstructive surgery. When he comes out of it, he loks like Wayne Northrop. John would then find out, after a good, emotional story with Marlena, that he is Roman Brady. The only thing that would need to be changed would then be Belle's parentage, and that could be done simply. To me, it would bring the character of John Black full circle, and we would all have Wayne back at Days. Just a thought, everyone.

Members dragonflies
Yep one way to get rid of Days for good, get rid of a veteran actor who is part of a popular Super Couple. That'll do it for sure LOL Like him or not, Drake has a fanbase, and like him or not his leaving WILL hurt Days.
Members DaysFanatic777
I started to think that I was the lone ranger that wanted a Dee/Wayne pairing. Old chemistry dies hard, and Roman and Marlena ruled the roost for three GREAT years of Days history. I dared say that 1981-1984 were the gkory days of this show to an extent. They carried that period. Wayne doesn't carry the ego, price tag, or I just sh*t in my pants look that Drake uses in any and all occasions. Drake is a good actor, but Wayne is a great actor. If Marlena were reunited with the real Roman in the form of Wayne, some fans would flip. Others (Like me), would stop watching once a week, and tune in everyday just to see the integrity of the show re-estblished. Marlena seemed so mjch stronger with Roman by her side. It was good for both characters, and didn't slip into the cheesy cheap romance novel it does when John and Marlena have screen time. JMHO!! Thats it. Members KSlater
I loved Roman and Marlena's relationship--the courtship especially. Marlena's character was totally different then . . . she was "cool" (at least, that's what the teenaged me thought!). Being with Roman didn't make her into a damsel in distress. She remained independent and strong willed--her own person. Having Wayne back as Roman would be a dream. But would it be possible after the Alex North fiasco? Members Pest Spray
More like, he should thank Deidre. And he was excellent as Roman. I love John & Marlena, but everyone knows Deidre is the powerhouse. That's not what people had a problem with. They had a problem with him attacking fans in person at a fan event they paid to attend that was a Jate event through and through, where he bashed his leading lady and pointed his finger in fans' faces. People had a problem with him not doing his job and adlibbed when he was told not to. He can want John with Alice or Abby for all I care, as long as he does his job, which is to sell the story. And Deidre spoke about it, apparantly Peter and Kristian did too. They just didn't insult people. And I actually agree with what Drake said. He just shouldn't have said it. To say it when you're off the show and no longer work with those people is one thing. To say it when you're still employed there could very well get you unemployed. The big four already took paycuts. Members DrewH
I am just predicting major backlash if Drake is fired. Now, if he quit, that would be a different story. Fans will still be in an uproar, and some will still blame TPTB for not making Drake happy with his story, but I would be fine with him not wanting to renew his contract. What I will not be happy with is if the show fires Drake. He has spent the last 21 years on this show, making it a lot of what it is today. John is debatably the most popular male character on this show and has been for years.

Members Khan
Two possible scenarios for writing out John, one sort of cut-and-dried, and the other more elaborate (and if you don't care for one or both of them, I apologize, lol): 1) John is killed in the climactic Brady/DiMera showdown and dies in Marlena's arms. Marlena grieves for awhile, then (hopefully) moves onto a new love quadrangle with Roman, Tony and Anna. (I'd love to see Wayne Northrop back as Roman, too. No need to contrive story to make that happen, though. One day, it's Josh Taylor; and the next, it's WN. Simple.) 2) Everyone learns John is the key to ending the Brady/DiMera feud. Specifically, Stefano agrees to end the feud, but ONLY if John returns to Stefano's organization. Naturally, the Bradys work doggedly to find another option; however, everything takes a turn after Grandpa Shawn dies in a fire (set by Stefano and/or one of his henchmen) that burns Brady's Pub to the ground. Everyone is devastated at the loss; John decides the feud HAS to end before anyone else dies. Against everyone's objections, John tells Stefano he will return to his organization. Of course, Marlena is particularly upset with John's decision, and she ends up taking it out on him, too. However, on the night before John is scheduled to meet with his onetime boss, Roman (of all people, lol!) implores Marlena not to let her anger get in the way of saying goodbye. (During their conversation, too, Anna accidentally overhears Roman confess his regret over losing her to Tony, which will lay the groundwork for a real Anna/Tony/Roman triangle.) So, touched by her ex-husband's words of encouragement, Marlena rushes to meet John, and the two share a final, romantic night together. (In the meantime, Tony, unbeknownest to everyone, tries to renegotiate the terms for ending the feud by challenging Stefano to a game of chess. Alas, Tony loses.) The next morning, practically all of Salem (except for Tony, who feels terrible guilt) bids a tearful goodbye to John, who departs to meet Stefano for their pre-arranged meeting at the waterfront. Once there, John is ushered into a limousine by one of Stefano's henchmen. Before leaving, Stefano pulls aside a doctor accompanying the men and reiterates his instructions: to erase all of John's memories of his life in Salem, and restore him to his former, henchman self. The doctor nods in agreement, the two men get into the limousine, and the limousine drives away. From there: * Bo and Hope pledge to rebuild Brady's Pub; but Bo, struck by a moment of inspiration, decides to bring back the old Brady's Fish Market instead. (I miss that place SO much, lol.) However, between rebuilding the place, and Bo's concern over Caroline's potential new suitor, and Hope's discovery that Doug has been keeping a grave medical ailment from Julie, their union is put to the test. * Caroline, now widowed, finds herself leaning on Victor Kiriakis for support (and MUCH to Bo's chagrin), but she could face some competition in the form of Maggie Horton, who must rebuild her life in the wake of Mickey's decision to end their marriage and marry another woman. After nearly falling off the wagon, Maggie decides to renovate the old Simmons farm into a sort of substance-abuse clinic for women. Victor pledges not just his moral support, but financial muscle as well, by offering to pay the clinic's construction costs. He uses this as an excuse to bring son Justin, played once again by Wally Kurth, back to Salem; and in turn, Justin, supervising construction of Maggie's clinic (and later, Brady's Fish Market), uses this as an excuse to reunite with Adrienne. * Tony vows to find and bring John, whom Stefano has virtually made disappear, back home, even if that means going back to work with Stefano. His plans come between him and Anna, who is unaware of his ulterior motives. Frustrated by their thwarted reunion, Anna finds a sympathetic ear in Roman. Roman and Anna's feelings for each other solidify after the two have to rescue their daughter, Carrie, played once again by Christie Clark, from the clutches of a mob-affiliated boxing manager whom Carrie tries to prove was responsible for her husband, Austin's, recent death. But how will Tony react when Kate, eager to regain Roman's affections, gives him undeniable proof that Roman and Anna have slept together? * Marlena grieves over the end of her and John's marriage, but gradually puts the pieces of her life back together. Refocusing her energies on her psychiatric practice at University Hospital, Marlena becomes VERY close with Mike Horton, who had returned to bail his troubled son, Jeremy, out of trouble, then decided to stay indefinitely. Even though their engagement didn't work out, Mike is glad to see the (much younger) Carrie is building a relationship with (a recast) Jeremy, who has become a broken man in the wake of Stephanie dumping him and leaving Salem. Still, Mike cannot get past the feeling that Carrie is keeping something from him. Soon, Marlena picks up on the tension between the former lovers and confronts Carrie. She plays cagey with her former stepmom; ultimately, though, Marlena learns the truth: shortly after their engagement had ended, and Carrie had returned to Los Angeles, she learned she was pregnant with Mike's child. Up until now, Carrie tried her best to put her ill-informed decision to put the baby up for adoption after its birth behind her; but, now that Austin is dead, and she might have a second chance at love with Jeremy, Carrie's feelings are conflicted. Carrie ultimately asks Marlena to help her find out if the baby is okay, but not to tell anyone, including Mike, and even Roman and Anna. But just as Marlena makes up her mind to probe into the matter further, Mike, who has been falling in love with Marlena, surprises her with a kiss and a declaration of love! If Marlena finds the baby, how will that affect her, Mike, Carrie, Jeremy, and everyone else involved?

Members IMissAremid
You know... it's annoying to think that Marlena can't just have her own story independently of John or if Drake goes, a secret Alex North twin or Roman or Don Craig or Bill or Mike Horton. It's this same stupidity that's prevented Maggie from having any sort of storyline since Mickey vanished. Damn this show and it's supercouple crap. If Drake does need to go then I would LOVE him to die in a mega-dramatic death and then have a really huge funeral and a really juicy story for Marlena coping with the grief of the loss of John ON HER OWN not even entertaining the idea of a relationship for at least a year or two (if Days is even around beyond then). Roman could TRY to put the moves on her, but Marlena would insist that her heart will always belong to John and that part of her life is over as she instead focuses on her family and career and assumes her role as the matriarch of Days. I would love to see her throw her life into her work and get back to being Dr. Marlena Evans the psychiatrist. Lord knows there are enough crazy people in Salem and the characters are written bipolar enough that there's certainly a market for her services. One obvious story would allow both she and Steve/Kayla to heal about what they did with the John kidney theft by her helping unlock the secrets of his past as a DiMera assassin. Maybe him getting his memory back could uncover other secrets about other characters like whatever happened with EJ's childhood that Stefano wound up raising him and what the hell happened to Susan Banks. Who the hell knows? Just show some imagination DOOL writers and make something besides a tired triangle (or quadrangle) happen.
