A few days ago when I use to log in, usually twice a day, I'd find new topics all the time... In the last few days - pretty much nothing is going on...

Where is everyone? Have the soaps become that bad (yes, they have, I know) that there's nothing left to discuss?

I'm bored with all the soaps, but I've got some personal issues that I've been tending to as well.

I'm enjoying most of my soaps but I'm not online as often right now because it's summertime. Maybe it's the same for others. Some may have gone on a vactions or are just enjoying this time of the year away from the comp.

I blamed it on the summer, too.

Outside of Ryan's Hope, I am done with daytime! It's complete garbage now. Let them have the 12 year old audience they are shooting for.

My attention is completely on Law and Order SVU, especially now that it appears that Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) and FBI Agent Dean Porter (Vincent Spano) will be headed toward coupledom on the show. They are so freaking hot together. So, here we have Mariska and Chris, the hottest detective duo on the planet, Vincent Spano on recurring as a possible love interest for Mariska/Olivia, 3 actors over the age of 40 have my complete and undevided attention, and the writing is so far above par that I want to cry...all this, and it came in the form of a crime show on primetime.

Daytime simply cannot deliver so FnCK THEM!

I know how you feel!

I came back here after a long absence when I was very busy. Now it's like I've arrived at the party just as everyone is leaving.

Alot of this is simply summer and alot of it is the fact that some have alot going on or personal issues to deal with.

There could be other factors too but those are the primary ones IMO.

I can answer for myself in the daytime part, because I don't think it's that bad. In fact, I love all of the soaps and one reason I don't post that much is because most of the things I love other people hate (JER, Passions, ATWT's Cleo story, etc).

and the stuff I am watching (The 4400, Doctor Who, Big Brother UK) don't have big SON followings.

I can't speak for others, but for me it's just that no soap is really that good enough to talk about right now. The only soap I'm enjoying right now is Days. I used to watch four soaps, now I faithfully just watch one.

And it's not the fact that soaps suck because they have for the better part of ten years. And, regardless, we still have the OTLounge and ten other forums that are dead.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not around because I have given up on SON, have cut all my ties to it, and have peaced out. Slowly weaning myself off! I'm down to one or two posts a day! YAY!

Now that you mention it, I remember last year when I registered, the posts and topics were all over the place.
