I think Tate was a good character, Beetem isn't half bad acting either, but the show went into newbie influx. I guess this will go hand in hand with Gallo's pending exit.

As for Paige, she was a complete and utter waste they go here and there with the character way too much. This time they need to keep her off the screen.

Oh forgot to say this must be the work of Ron Carlivati.

I hope his next mission is bringing back FAMILIAR faces, primarily Andrea Evans and bringing familiarity/veterans back. Bo and Nora should be front and center. Get Williamson back as Evangeline. DO NOT bring Natalie front and center, I've liked her now more than I ever have LOl.

Well that is a good sign. I was not impressed with any of the other actors anyway.

If this means more storyline for Vicki and the vets great. I hope they can entice Renee to come back.

I think they need to concentrate on families. I want more Lord/Mannings and if smart they ask Andrea to come back and play Tina. Tina/Todd/Vicki would rock the heavens.

I think I would have liked Paige and Bo had they ever had a consistent approach to the character. With Tate and Kirk leaving, that must mean the OPP story will be short-lived.

It seems they are replacing these newbies with new ones, but at least they are knocking off vets to get them this time. And one of the newbies at least is in the Buchanan bloodline.

This is a great first step, but there are so many more than need to go! nuMarty (unless Haskell returns) and I think Cole and all of those talentless teens need to go (except Langston). Scale Starr's story back and give her something family related. She's too young to carry her own story, IMO.

Also, Vincent needs to go and I'm sure many more but I don't watch OLTL regularly so I don't know all of them. I'd keep Layla (finally give her something to do), Talia, Nash and really thats probably it.

We need more legacy characters returning and the vets need to be front and center! If it weren't for these newbies Renee Goldsberry and Phil Carey would be on contract! This is why it is VITAL that you remove a crap headwriter. Once these actors are gone you may not be able to get them back.

I just hope Y&R gets some help because Latham is pulling a Higley. Tons and tons of newbies and she's gradually writing off many of the core cast members or worse--killing them off (four in less than a year).

Tate and Audrianna are not leaving together. Melissa has already said that she is not leaving for a while. She is there at least till the end of the year. Plus, they are making Tate into the racist bastard who is going after the minorties on the shows. So my guess is his character will either die or go to Prison.

I agree with you about scaling Starr's story back. I think KA is a decent enough actress but she's not strong enough to carry this story. Whenever she's in scenes with Britney and Langston she fades into the background. I guess it doesn't help the other teens are 19 and older.

I'm happy Dena is gone. She couldn't tell a complete story to save her life. She could start it, but somewhere in the middle she gets all confused and then comes up with something grand to end it and it falls flat.

Paige was not a Dena creation. She was launched under Malone and the character was given a contract initially during Malone's tenure. Really she has served no purpose lately so it's fine she goes. I personally would have liked to have seen a real story involving Paige and Bo. Of course, I much preferred Nora and Troy to Bo and Nora. I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I think Bo and Nora have run the track as a couple and both characters need and deserve new stories.

I think it was known that Tate and Kirk were leaving. It had already been reported the OPP story was wrapping up this summer and that Tate was the bad guy. I was kind of hoping Kirk would turn out to be OK and hook up with Viki or Nora.

I think these newbies are out to make room for new newbies: Sarah, Mason and whoever FF is creating.

    • I'm anticipating most of the cast at the Nice location for a few weeks a la the Tuscan villa for Victoria and Ashland's wedding. I don't know why they bother. I'd rather see the money going into more regular home/office sets. This party has been a bust. No secrets revealed, break ups  etc. Ugly decorations and I'm going to slam the costuming again. Just the guests heaping praise on  Nikki  like she's achieved some magnificent milestone rather than just getting a year older.

In the loving arms of his wife, Dr. Marlena Evans, John took his last breath at the end of the June 2 episode, after suffering devastating internal injuries during a lab explosion. The iconic character went out as he lived — a hero. Sensing the fans’ devastation on Monday, Marlena’s portrayer Deidre Hall posted this simple-but-powerful message to fans on Instagram: “I know. I know. Hardest day ever.”

    • Now coming into June...well...   I knew it was coming but I didn't like the start to the next round of Dani/Bill/Hayley. As the 3 A plots from the start of the show (The SilkPress storyline and Martin's Secret being the other two), it needed to be benched for a while to develop those characters and allow other characters and storylines to grow. 3 months in, Hayley is the weak link, Dani is still divisive, but not boring, and Bill has been making his mark with some plots faster than others. So last week seeing the story starting to loop back around to them with Hayley's potential pregnancy, I honestly had mixed feelings.   I get it. The SilkPress storyline is currently in aftermath/next turn mode, so it has to be moved into a C plot position. Moreso if we want to keep the very talented Miss Trish around. And I love how clever the writers are being with the storyline. They give us enough in the episodes and are still playing out beats to keep the appetite fed. I don't feel like anyone is being dumbed down to keep her around. And Trish is giving nuances in her alone scenes with NuTed. I shouldn't care for a clear psycho, but she be selling it. That said...I wish they had given us a little more of the Martin's Secret storyline in the last week of the month though I loved the game of cat and mouse Bill did on Martin and Smitty to keep the storyline alive and active after it had a nice build beginning of May and vanished for a week mid-May. And it appears like it's about to go back to the backburner as an A plot which of course leaves the A plot of Dani/Bill/Hayley.   I am probably in the minority as someone who is not anti-Dani here and even she annoyed the heck out of me last week. In character true, but I just felt like there was a way to get all of that across without it feeling like...as I've said before...one step forward, two steps back...and have it feel organic. I liked Hayley got a little bit of edge with her, but she still ain't no match for Dani. And it reminds to be seen if we should be going back to that well of a story yet.   Now about today's show...   And I thought Tracy was bad! lol. But YES. Sharon has been worth the wait. And so has Anita's story! Finally having TT in the limelight. This has been a nice slow burn for me and a nice B plot. And the actress is good. The wig is giving. And her holding what Anita's secret is over her head and threatening to tell Vernon....Ooooo...that is what I was waiting for.    And speaking of bad...I thought Eva vs Kat was a great rivalry. But I am loving the rivalry that is growing with 'Nancy Drew' and Silk Press Sheila! They both get good licks in and are so cunning with each other. And I definitely have liked that since the anniversary party, that it has been growing. Now that Kat has been proven right, she has not backed down. And neither has SilkPress. And we got a 'Ms. B@tch' moment, too? LOVE. Eva coming up with a trump card was delicious and so 90s Sami Brady. GOOD. And the coda with Jacob and the expert...YES. The Silk Press storyline has been the best paced on the show so I love that the aftermath of the anniversary party continues to be so...barring one flaw...well for me. Not enough Nicole's POV.   And I like the C plots on display. And by that, I mean Chelsea with Vernon. And it made me wonder what the writers have plan for her love life now that the throuple is over with. I was watching her and going awww.   And of course the mystery man around Martin. I am starting to wonder if he really even works at the country club given how he made a run for it. That would be a twist.    Speaking of Martin...good to see him in scenes with his father and mother.    I'm getting used to NuTed.    I felt the last episode of May was a bit of a letdown, but this was a very nice recovery.
    • Unless they cut him, I'd think he would stay. Surely, he didn't choose to return because he expected high quality. I figure he gets to work when he wants and spend a lot of time doing his own thing and being with his family.
    • The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.
    • That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.
