I wouldn't be surprised if it was Kay Alden. Wasn't Jack Smith hired as a consultant at the same time too? I guess it could be him or maybe they are co-writing. Didn't Errol or Ryan say at one time that Frons was interested in getting Alden on the show months ago but the deal didn't work out at that time? I agree about Amanda having the same problem of pimping characters. Maybe she is just following orders but I don't think I want any of McTavish's staff to be promoted. I would rather see most of them gone and new people brought in.

I have heard so many mixed things about Kay that I don't know what to think. Seems like a lot of people didn't like her writing on Y&R. I do think a writer who is more character driven will improve the show immensely. It concerns me that she may not be familiar with AMC's history but McTavish already destroyed it . It is like starting from scratch now anyway.

I can't wait to hear the announcement of who is replacing her and when it is going to happen! Poloma, you heard the new writer was starting next week??? Do you know where you found that info?? Thanks. Wouldn't it be kind of strange to switch writers when they are probably getting ready for May sweeps??

I hope whoever is the new writer doesn't let Frons dictate the storylines and who gets to be on and whatnot. That along with McCrap's horrible writing is what is killing amc. Its ridiculous for Babe to be on almost everyday, when majority of fans hate her, as well as ryan.

For your first point, getting a soap canceled hasn't stopped soap brass from hiring these writers. Esentens, anyone?

Also, for the last sentence, JER STILL could be tapped by ABC. REMEMBER: he wrote two soaps before. Yes, he's committed to "Passions" until the end, but that doesn't mean he can't sink his teeth in Pine Valley!

It's not just one person who doesn't want JER for AMC, JSF. NO longtime AMC would dare think of that man for AMC. He's worse then MMT, and he would be the death of AMC. You want to see your precious Babe for years to come, no? JER would have AMC off our screens before we knew what hit us.

That's like saying a certain medication may work, it effects weaken, and then...to try it a third time...it may help again.

JER in daytime soaps is DONE. He will end up getting a job as a consultant for FALCON BEACH or some trash primetime show like that. Maybe he can resurrect HARMONY HIGH for the new TNBC or something.

Well, Labine hasn't shown us she has talent for about 12 years now. More importantly, she won't be coming back to daytime because she's as old as the hills and she's enjoying her retirement.

Now, to be fair, on GL she was up against Roach and the MADD Cow. It's great that we got any shimmers of Labine talent at all.

The greatest tv series season finale in history.
    • Mick Savage was sooo unbearable. And more unbearable was the reaction from the female characters to him - they were acting like he is God's gift to women and sooo irresistible. To a point of unbelievable cringe.
    • Today was a short one. Only 33 minutes.  The ‘Part One’ graphic at the beginning was pretty interesting though. I didn’t expect them to do something like that.  I like how everything was focused around John and his family and friends. Again, the acting and the dialogue was very well done and well written. And I love that they were able to incorporate Drake’s, “swing for the fences” phrase into the script. It was nice seeing everyone interact with each other, especially characters who don’t often share scenes together. It felt like every character was part of a big family or community. Plus, an outdoor funeral in June makes a lot more sense than an outdoor funeral in December.  But yeah, it’s very, very strange that Will isn’t at the funeral, especially since we know that

I would much rather he had been there today. And, where’s Anna too? And Jack and Jennifer? What was the point of bringing them all back if they weren’t going to attend the funeral? I expected Steve to want to close down BlackPatch, though I’d rather he just retire and let Paul take it over. But I like that Kayla was there to comfort him. I wonder if he’s going to change his mind at some point.  It was nice seeing Shane again too. Now, he just needs to have more scenes with his son lol but I enjoyed seeing him comfort Marlena. I’m not really sure about his interaction with Cat though? Was it really necessary for this to happen now, at John’s funeral? They could’ve waited a little longer to introduce this story arc.  Btw, was Tate bleeding from his head in his first scene with Arianna?

    • Now this strikes me as funny. I have it up on my acct. The thing is I only have S2. Didn't want either 1 or 3.  Perhaps I should just list all of these that I have up.  Parodies: Dirty Sexy Money, Filthy Rich Incomplete: The Monroes, All That Glitters, Falcon Crest (have all just not all up), Once & Again S2 only Complete: Models Inc, Pasadena, Pacific Palisades, Paper Dolls, Flamingo Road
    • This is wonderful! Thank you for posting this! I loved the first two seasons and never got to see the final season when they cancelled the DVD release. I've been hoping this popped up on streaming but no luck. Happy I'll finally get to see how it ended!

    • In case it is of interest to anyone here, I have digital copies (computer files, mp4 etc.) of all of the episodes. And, besides having the files they are all up on my usual video hosting site, acct name: shallotpeel, channel it is in: Primetime Soaps and file names like  Flamingo Road S1E15 Hurricane Flamingo Road was a primetime soap on NBC by Lorimar Productions. 2 seasons. 1980-1982. Morgan Fairchild, Barbara Rush. Developed by Rita Lakin.
    • Arguably DAYS OF OUR LIVES has been brilliant lately & definitely was last week. But, here I am with nitpick & technicalities. This was the only misstep but it was just a stupid thing that should have been caught. Deidre Hall as Marlena has this one problematic line, "It didn't matter how many identities you had, I always knew exactly who you were, you were the man who saved my life." - Marlena, DAYS, 6-2-25 Unfortunately the flashback closest to it was when Marlena was on the phone, terrified because she thought he was Stefano. Yes, it's true that the line is not accurate. There were many times when she did not feel the way she is claiming because of whatever was going on in story with his 'retconned to hell & back' identity & origin story. Does it keep the whole week from being called excellent? Nope.
