Actually, I think Jan can be on that list. I am not really sure and don't know anything, but JER was let go in May and it might have been [s.W.S.N.B.N.] that planned on Jan coming back because didn't she plan the whole summer of Days out before they cut her?

I don't have the energy to read through this whole thread. But uhm, you can take Frankie away from the list. Billy Warlock left on his own! Proof --> http://community.tvguide.com/thread.jspa?t...55772#700055772

Ohh, and Ari left on her own terms too. I believe Eric did as well.

And well about Mimi. We really don't know if she's really gone so... The other characters (Patrick, Bonnie, Tek, Stephanie, Jan) is just boredome to me so I don't really care. I do feel bad for Renee though.

psychofan. If you're so sick of the JER-bashing... Well then it's your problem. We're here to share our opinions on a messageboard. If you don't like it then feel free to leave. No one is forcing you to read it all. :) I'm sick of some of the bashing of some of my favs too, but I simply desided to not read those posts/threads. It's just not worth the effort. It's much easier for your brain that way. I promise you. ;)

JER wrote the horrendous Austin/Carrie/Sami/Lucas quadrangle, which was awesome the first go around. Unforunately it sucked donkey balls the 2nd go around and I was one who loved seeing Austin and Carrie leave for the simple fact they were written so pathetic. Why don't you do ahead and admit you think JER can do no wrong. And before you think I am a Hogan lover, think again, just look at the horrible ratings for DAYS.

Some of that list is when actors chose to leave at the end of their contracts or asked to leave early.

Farah Fath asked to be let out early....she NEVER went to them to ask to stay that was made clear in her exit interview with SOD.

Patrick was written out but the actor also was going to leave when is contract expired anyways.

And the whole stalker victim thing I don't think was ever the intention of the storyline they caught a ton of flack when they killed off Alice and decided to make it seem like that was the point. Which makes no sense considering the actors never had an agreement with the show to come back and they could of gone and get other jobs during that time. They got really lucky that all of them agreed to come back with the expection of Alexis Thorpe (Cassie) who only came back on recurring status because she was shooting a movie at the time.

The decision to axe Carrie and Austin was definitely Hogan's. There was no mention of them leaving under JER.

Here's a summary of the outs:

Ashford- Sept 06 (Fired by Corday- wanted "happy ending" for J&J)

Reeves- Sept 06 (Left voluntarily)

Cook- Sept 06 (Left voluntarily)

Brandt- Oct 06 (Left voluntarily)

Peck- Oct 06 (Fired)

Clark- Oct 06 (Fired)

Warlock- Nov 06 (Claims it was a "mutual decision")

Hutzler- Jan 07 (Fired- was planning to leave when contract expired)

Rose- Jan 07 (Fired- no story)

Jones- Jan 07 (Fired- probably budget related)

Orange- Jan 07 (Fired)

Fath- Mar 07 (Claims to have left of her own accord)

Evans- Mar 07 (Fired- expected to return)

Yeah, Carrie and Austin were casualties of Hogan. Right after he was publicly announced as Head Writer, the news broke that Clark and Peck would be leaving in October.

Billy Warlock and Farah Fath had already chose to leave before Hogan even came onto the show. They knew they weren't going to renew their contracts.

Austin, Carrie, Patrick, Stephanie, Lexie, Tek and Bonnie are all casualties of Hogan. No one else.

I think Austin and Carrie were more casualties of the budget crunch than anything. If the money to keep everyone was there, I think A/C would still be on the show. Hogan probably figured it would be better to give them a happy ending after their terribly written return under JER.

Looking at the list of people that were actually fired it isn't that bad. With the acception of Jones noone else had a story. As upset as I was that Peck and Clark were let go, JER had written them into a corner. I believe that the characters(whether played by the same actors or not) will return at some point in the future when they are needed and have a real story.

    • I'm not sure if the boy Carrie 2 seduced (I think his name was Ron) was still in high school or in college, but I remember he was very shy. I don't recall her making a pass at Alan, but she did make one at Justin, and she ended up banging Josh. I think there was an out of town business man too. Reva thought Josh and Vanessa were having an affair. Vanessa had just been fired by Roger, and when Reva took off to India, Van started helping Josh with the children. He then hired Van to work at Lewis. She would hear him on a business call with Van and think they were arranging a tryst. Or they sat too close together on the couch, so of course they were hiding an affair from her. It was very weird and blew up really quick.  It culminated at the party Reva was throwing at the club to introduce Dylan to Justin. Reva imagined everyone whispering about her and then she dumped a tray of drinks on Vanessa. When Vanessa hauled her into the ladies room to ask WTF, Reva accuses them of having an affair, asks if Van's pregnant, and then knocks her to the floor. I do think Claire had a tumor. I know around Valentine's day, Claire is making passes at a young businessman (or maybe even someone college age), and Ross (Van kinda pushed her at him because she's not keen on Calla). There's also a young intern played by Burke Moses that I think she sleeps with.

If the standard of play in the women's final yesterday wasn't of the highest caliber, that is not something you could say about today's final. It was absolutely fantastic tennis.
    • When Barbara's letter was read (partly in Barbara's voice), there was commenting upthread that Barbara's voice is similar to the voice of Naomi's unhoused client June.  It did sound like her.  June is played by Jasmine Burke.  Per closing credits, Barbara was voiced by Sherita Bolden.  Still possible that they are connected. From our discussion on the May thread:  Looks and/or voices similar between June, Haley, and Tracy.   Tracy looks like Debbi Morgan. LOL so June might be connected to Haley, Tracy, or Barbara; and/or Samantha&Tyrell. I love that we don't know!
    • In the 1987 episodes, Mary has wonderful conversations with MJ and Cheryl. This is a realistic family with believable dynamics. Mary's ambivalence towards Vince is played nicely. Denise Alexander is so good here. I don't know what happened that the writers or producers just decided to chuck it all away. I don't FF these scenes. The show had a strong family that could have had years of storyline and they did nothing with them. I really don't get it.
    • I can't speak for Sonni, but I thought Annie came off as neurotic from very early on. That's just how Cynthia Watros plays her parts, and the writing went along. I don't think Claire was mentally ill - they claimed she had a brain tumor, didn't they? I am never sure just why they made the effort given that she was leaving anyway.
    • @DeeVee Claire is a perfect example. So many women came to Springfield as competent, smart, and talented professionals. Then they’d attract a so-called “good guy,” get dumped, and spiral into complete chaos. What always strikes me is how clearly it plays like a male fantasy—yet it was written and sold to a female audience.  I'm not a content expert, but I don't think cis gendered women fantasize about losing control of their mental faculties in response to an orgasm. Similar to Holly's story, it seems repulsive, because I don't believe women fantasize about becoming more vulnerable and appealing to men after they've been assaulted.
    • I just watched some parts of an episode of GL where Roger has just been shot by Holly. Rita then admits to Hillary that Roger raped her. Kasdorf is such a fantastic actress. I wish there were more of her work available.
    • -- Alex Alegria has almost a full sleeve tattoo on one arm and a large tatt on one pec. I see no indication that the show is covering up his ink,
    • Didn't Carrie2 even seduce a minor? Ick. Oh, yeah, and she even tried to seduce Alan, but this was his post-prison era when he was trying to prove to everyone he had changed. It's funny that of all people he didn't go for it. Wait. Josh had an affair with Vanessa? Or she just thought he did? I know people always say "it's just a soap" but the way mental illness is portrayed on soaps (and that goes for pretty much all of them) has always been not great, especially PPD. They practically turned Claire into The Joker. She also was trying to seduce men. (I notice that now Mary Ryan Munisteri is listed as co HW with Ryder in the 1986 episodes, Claire has calmed down a lot. Never thought her GL career was very good but seems like she tried to course correct that a bit).
