I'm not sure if it's just a bad rumor going around, but I heard that Guiding Light was being cancelled on Monday. Alledgedly, Yahoo is the source of info. I checked, but I didn't see anything.

Anyone know anything?

Rumors have been flying for the longest time. It could be true though. We will just have to wait.

CBS or P&G would have to be really cold to announce GL's cancellation the week of the 70th anniversary so I doubt it is true. Sounds like GL haters wishful thinking.

This would have been news circulating everywhere (at least, I hope) so I highly doubt that it's true.

I don't see how any soap being canceled benefits another. If anything, it causes much more worry for the industry as a whole.

Days isnt going to CBS. If it does go somewhere it would be ABC. Errol already mentioned this. Pay attention and you will learn something.

I'm sorry, all this banter about Days going to CBS, at the expense of GL and ATWT is seriously pissing me off. Days loss would be a great loss to daytime, but it just doesn't compare to the history the P&G soaps have. CBS has too much class to dismiss it's two oldest daytime institutions, for a soap another network has already canned. Wishing cancellation on another show, just because you think it can benefit the show you love more is just shameful behavior.

I think the article is a fake, but anyway it also says that ATWT has been renewed until March 2009 and insiders say that is when ATWT will be cancelled to make room for DAYS.
