Obviously, I may be in the minority, but I'm not gonna miss Dixie. They trashed her character so royally that its a mercy killing to me. I'm only goig to be sad that GL's Tammy does, but not Dixie.

I'm sorry Cady got fired, but everything happens for a reason. I doubt she will be out of work for long.

I am not sure I believe the TV Guide article. I have read other websites/posters saying that Cady had a three year contract. Who knows now. But it sure seems like AMC may have been caught off guard by the reaction from the fans and they are trying to do damage control. A little too late if you ask me.

Could it be the same way that Julia Barr was fired? They did offer her something...but she turned them down. Everyone considers that her being "fired". So maybe it's a little of both with this situation. Maybe they made Cady and offer she didn't like or want, heck maybe they were going to do something storyline wise she was against, and she said No, so they let her go. It could be a combo, IMO. We're never going to get the full, and complete story, IMO.

I think you may be right.

Notice how SOW referred to them as "negotiations" with quotation marks...like the offer made by ABC was a joke.

It's too bad, she used to be one of my favorites and this last go around I wasnt too impressed with the direction they took her character. Hopefully she will turn up on another show sometime soon

According to this article, focus groups were the determining factor of Dixie's death. There's also a quote from McTavish saying that fans want to see more Krystal and Babe. Uh, where was this focus group held? At Bobbie Eakes's home?

Focus groups were also the determining in the death of one Maureen Bauer of Guiding Light. That show has never recovered.

I hope Bobbie Eakes leaves AMC. She is such a talented actress, but I hate what her status is being reduced to on AMC.

Can someone please confirm or deny whether this focus group/Babe/Krystal quote is legit?

I find it hard to believe they'd say that, even if it was true.

I don't believe it. I've seen it posted but not from an official source. Anyway I know it's not true because I heard about the results of the focus group they did on AMC at SSW in November and it definitely did not say anything like that. Not even close.

Very cute! I'd be laughing my head of if this wasn't so disturbing.

I gather you feel the same way.

Clearly Brian Frons is the ABCD angel of daytime death. At least he hasn't put a deadline for the end like the NBC exec has.

Cady wasn't fired. Read this:

http://community.tvguide.com/forum.jspa?forumID=700000047

It's an article from TV Guide online, that clears things up, well sort of.

An update: TV Guide On-line admitted that they had misinformation and that ABC fired Cady. Daniel updated the article and wrote a retraction. I wonder if ABC lied to him?

http://community.tvguide.com/thread.jspa?t...03&start=30

Also, this is from Cady from her My Space Website www.myspace.com/cadylane

Don't Believe Everything You Read: All I want to say is, wait until Soap Weekly comes out. Carolyn Hinsey is the only person I have talked to about the death of Dixie and out of respect to ABC the article will come out with the event, as opposed to before. Anything else in the press is speculation poised as fact, for their own agenda. It saddens me that some in the soap press feel compelled to do this, when the truth is so important to the fans of the show. I apologize that you have to wait to hear the truth, but it will be worth it.

I am very interested to here Cady's full side of the story. Out of respect to ABC, pfftt. If they fired you Cady, what respect should you give them?

I really hope she ends up on DAYS or Y&R..... I am so beyond crushed and pissed over this. Never ever has something AMC has done made me so mad and disillusioned. One can only take so much!
