Oh, I will give you Blake is better. I am just saying his style comes off better on stage then it would recorded and when you are listening to it. Blake can sing but he isn't in Melinda or Jordin'a league. Therefore, let's get it right and eliminate him. I can't see Blake doing well on the finale with one of those classic Idol finale ballads with the chorus and all. It will be a disaster. PLus, like Chris, Blake will benefit much more if he is eliminated. If he is resigned to an Idol contract, he will flop big time.

I am a big McPhee fan and her voice did give out. She had to have shots all day to treat her voice. She overdid it in rehersal and that is why the judges weren't harsh on her on her last song. Sure, the song sucked but she couldn't do much with it because she couldn't ger vocal range high enough as his voice was giving out. All you have to do is listen to her voice on the final performance show and then on the finale results show and there is a huge difference.

You are right about Chris. He was the true winner for sure.

Phoenix, I think you may be right about Blake be better off if he doesn't win. I'll give you that that Melinda is better than Blake just based on singing, and Jordin (at her best this week) is, but oftentimes Jordin is NOT as good as Randy Jackson and some on here and elsewhere have stated that she is. Like I've said many times, Jordin is over-rated and needs voice lessons just as Lakisha does, to control her talented vocal skills. I do think Jordin could blow up and be very big. The record company/management company will very likely put her on a strict diet to get her even slimmer (she's a little overweight), heck they even had Carrie Underwood lose quite a bit of weight and she was slim to begin with and is now imho almost too slim.

After you went into detal about Katharine's voice problems at the end of last season, it refreshed my memory of what happened. I apologize to you for stating you were wrong (or hinting that you were lying). I've been going thru some family drama/health issue of a sister, and that's stressed me out quite a bit.

I was really worried about how huge Blake's fan base really is, but he was in the bottom two and with LaKisha gone, surely votes that would have been for her will go to Jordin or Melinda so hopefully Blake will be gone next week. I really, really, really and cannot emphasize enough how awful it was for Taylor to win last year. He is such a goon and hasn't done well at all. I'm happy Simon has "disowned" him. If he hadn't been a marketing major and knew how to market Soul Patrol instead of Taylor Hicks, he would not have gained the support he did. It was a disgrace in my opinion.

I agree completely. I didn't hate him last year but I do now. He bit off the hand that feeds him and his behavior since then has been appalling. I should also say that we don't know for sure Blake was in the bottom. Ryan never said "bottom two." He just told Melinda she's safe and usually he will say bottom two. You probably are right but I don't know if it's for sure. I knew all season last year Taylor would win because he was unique and what he did attracted people and caught their eye. It was a disgrace but, at the time, he was huge for some reason.

Mulder...it's cool. You weren't wrong. So much about the finale last year still mystifies people. Some thought it was sabotage because they didn't want Katherine or something. I knew that wasn't the case because Simon loved her and always was against Taylor. He was pulling for her but her voice just gave out.

I still remember season 3's finale where Diana's earphone somehow went out on her and her microphone went dead too or something. Diana shouldn't have been there anyway but it was clear they wanted Fantasia to win. One of the divas had to win due to the loud outcry from fans over losing Jennifer and LaToya. They never did explain why Diana, who was singing great that night and had sung "Don't Cry Out Loud" so perfect a mere week before, had all those problems. She did say she couldn't hear up there and the judges ignored it. During the night the winner was announced, Diana performed amazing and the judges looked guilty for some reason. That whole season was a mess and that finale was weird.

Blake will release like one single which will suck and then he'll be forgotten about like the 50 other idols no one remembers or hears from. He's horrible. He's like a trainwreck because you never know what horrible thing he's going to do next, but you can't help but watch.

I don't see the Taylor comparison at all. Taylor could at least hold a note.

And for anyone who thinks Blake is better looking than Taylor...stop deluding yourself.

Taylor's not bad but he's not great either.

Carrie and Kelly are still the best and most profitable and popular winners, as evidence by their constant award wins and critical praise.

Ruben has faded in the background. Fantasia is back in the spotlight though I've never been a fan of her music, just not my tastes.

I'll give it to Chris Daughtry though. I wasn't a fan of his during the season but I do like his band and his album, and he's done great so kudos to him.

Katharine's first album was very low-key. It took too long for it to come out, IMO. I like a few songs but she needs to find a genre and stick to it.

Elliot and Paris have both just released albums. I haven't listened to either of theirs yet.

I think Jordin should win. She's bubbly, cute, can sing, and has the best potential to be marketable. Melinda does too, I suppose but Jordin just has IT, I think. Blake pales in comparison. He's had his good songs but overall, his win would be on par with Taylor's, imo.

Innnnnteressstinggg....

Hot picture, but I still hate the little piece of sh!t. I wish he'd beat box his way into the middle of an intersection full of blind drivers. He's great at beat boxing, but his singing vocals are severely lacking. If he wins America will have chosen a loser.

I think we all now he's gay. I don't need homoerotic poses to tell me.

Also, Taylor was on Jay Leno last night. He looked great. I think he slimmed down a lot and lost that chubby drunk father at a wedding look. And his song was very catchy, but not poppy enough to survive this day and age.

On the AI site (FOX) it is said that Elliot Yamin will be on there to perform, along with music group Maroon 5.

I want to know who will be the person that will be going home...I want Jordin to stay in it....Don't know about Blake though. I just have a feeling it's going to be two women as the final two.

Blake did good but I hate the song. Im glad he's starting to go blonde again. Much better than the dark he had the week before

Melinda was alright but she sounds the same in ALL her songs. I dont think she has much range

    • Concluding 1976... Raymond Schafer arrives in Springfield and begins an extensive probe into Malcolm’s death, puzzling Ed, who wonders why most of Schafer’s question sessions keep turning back to Rita’s involvement with Malcolm. Ed assures the man that Rita’s only connection with Malcolm was as his nurse; he is unaware that Schafer knows a great deal more about Rita than he does. Just to protect Rita, Ed has Mike check on Schafer’s credentials, and learns that he’s a  well-respected criminal attorney. The waitress at the restaurant where Malcolm suffered his stroke tells Schafer that the woman who was with him reacted very professionally to the sudden emergency, as if she were a nurse. Realizing that her little sister has fallen hard for Tim, Rita warns him that she’s very vulnerable and innocent, but Tim tells Rita her advice isn’t necessary. But Tim then receives a plum job offer to be chief neurological resident at a prestigious Philadelphia hospital and can’t pass up the opportunity. Evie is crushed by the news and spends the next several days at home crying. Joe Werner, fully recovered, has accepted a post as a medical aide in a destitute village in India and leaves alone, with Sarah to follow him later. Justin asks Sarah to consider a partnership with him in private practice, but she explains that she thrives on the hospital atmosphere. When a call comes from India that Joe has had another massive attack, Sarah leaves on the next available flight and arrives only moments before he dies. The painful news is relayed back to Cedars at once. Sara returns from India a heartbroken woman, but the day-to-day involvement of raising T.J. and of her career seem to be her salvation. Justin shows a surprisingly compassionate and understanding side to Sara, but, ironically, Justin’s ex-wife, Jackie, arrives in Springfield with her diabetic father, who is suffering from a heart attack. In the process of consulting with Justin on her father’s condition, Jackie comes face to face with Sara for the first time since their college days. Evie’s heartbreak at Tim’s departure turns to fury and hatred when she inadvertently discovers a letter which Tim wrote to Rita just after he left. In it he concedes that Rita was right about Evie’s vulnerability where he was concerned but reminds Rita that he badly hurt her in the same way she feared Evie would suffer. Evie is now sure that Rita somehow forced Tim to leave town and is livid at the idea that Tim was Rita’s lover. She insists she’s cutting off her relationship with Rita and will pay her back for any help she’s received in the past. Ben and Hope’s wedding plans are off, as Ben, while still insisting he’s innocent, won’t explain why the robbery evidence points to him. Hope feels his unwillingness to tell her the truth makes marriage to him impossible, but confides to Ann that she is miserable without him. Ben has echoed these sentiments to Mike but won’t confide in him, either as Hope’s father or as an attorney.   Holly is trying very hard to build a life without Ed, but since she sees him virtually every day at work, she’s unable to put him out of her mind. She accepts a date with a member of the hospital administration staff but is unable to avoid making comparisons between Ed and this young man and winds up alone, sadly holding Ed’s picture and recalling how much she loves him. Believing that the hospital board’s conclusions on Grainger’s death have settled the question once and for all, Rita has regained her self-confidence, and her romance with Ed is growing daily. They admit their love for each other, and Ed confides that he intentionally  held back with Rita for fear of making another mistake. Rita then tells Ed she has never married because for her marriage must be forever. Rita’s mother realizes that Rita is truly in love when she confides in her that she doesn’t understand why she’s been so lucky in having him love her and how she wants to be the very best person she can be for him. Ed proposes marriage to Rita and gives her time to think about it before answering. Rita painfully realizes that her past could, if it rose again against her, make a life with Ed a lost dream. But Raymond Shaefer has been quietly but efficiently carrying on his investigation and has learned that Grainger argued with Rita at her apartment. He presents the evidence he’s compiled to District Attorney Eric Van Gelder, who decides the case warrants further investigation. Rita goes to Ed’s office to tell him she loves him but can’t marry him, that she doesn’t deserve him and “can’t do it to him.” As she turns from a confused Ed to leave, she finds the district attorney and a police officer outside Ed’s door, waiting to arrest her. Ed, insisting that a serious mistake has been made, calls Mike to help her as Rita, shocked and humiliated, is taken under arrest through the hallways of the hospital in which she works. Mike manages Rita’s release on bail only after she has had to submit to the degrading booking procedure. Mike sees her alone at her apartment, explaining he can help her only if she tells him the whole truth. Rita equivocates until Mike mentions Texas, indicating to Rita that he knows at least some of the story. Van Gelder has, in fact, let Mike see the bulk of evidence in the case against Rita, to convince him her arrest wasn’t a capricious whim. Rita explains to Mike that Malcolm believed she intentionally vilified him to his father, to do him out of his rightful inheritance, and then wanted his father dead to collect her money. Mike expresses his appreciation of Rita’s honesty, promising to help her. But Rita’s tormented dreams confirm that she hasn’t yet told all the truth, and after Peggy visits, expressing firm support, Rita tells Roger she has to reveal his part in the story. Roger painfully tells Rita about his being Christina’s father to show her that if Ed knew, it would end Rita’s chances with him forever. Rita, who was ready to tell Ed the whole story, now realizes how risky that would be. Adding to Rita’s pain is her forced leave of absence from the hospital until she’s cleared and the embarrassment of seeing her name in the headlines.

    • Yes, but the stories are all pretty awful Seeing Victor rehashing his hatred of the Abbotts  when he married one of them and has a daughter that is half Abbott as well as walking around with Traci's daughter's heart keeping him alive makes him look worse than he already is. And I remember he and Jack chatting amicably in the past few years. Victor interfering in Kyle/Claire is just repeat of Billy/Victoria. Sharon, Nick,Phyllis etc are around but again the stories are lacking.
    • I think Kevin's 1996 Emmy was fair enough. He barely appeared for his second. I don't think anyone else on the list is that deserving but I might have gone with Moore as he did try with the whole Keesha AIDS story. @alwaysAMC Thanks to slick jones' cast list I was able to see that Nikki Rene played Tina. Not much on her, as you mentioned. Tap and a few Broadway listings (it doesn't help that a younger actress with a similar name is in a lot of roles). • Thank you. That does ring a bell. I remember Theresa and Julian's drunk, giggly fake wedding (with Julian asking "Whassup?" to the minister). Was Bruce tricking the pair as a prank, or did somebody put him up to it? I especially liked Katherine recalling how dashing young Alistair was when he'd pick up Rachel for dates, and how she wished she could be her sister, then feeling guilty once Rachel had her boating accident ...
    • And Kevin Mambo beat Shemar Moore for those two Emmys. I chalk up the wins to the voters not wanting Jonathan Jackson to eventually end up with a five peat (he won 1995, 1998, 1999). These were the 1996 and 1997 Younger Actor races. 1996: Nathan Fillion, Jonathan Jackson, Kevin Mambo (winner), Shemar Moore, Joshua Morrow 1997: Steve Burton, Jonathan Jackson, Kevin Mambo (winner), Shemar Moore, Joshua Morrow
