I liked tonight's because we saw some actual good auditions unlike the majority of the audition shows that focus mostly on the bad.

Sherman was heartbreaking and kudos to the judges and AI for showing him respect and at least letting him sing. Good stuff.

There are a few contestants that interest me but I am waiting to comment on them until we get to Hollywood and beyond.

I wasn't carried away with tonight...too much begging and crying. I liked the ones who thanked the judges and left before. The 62 year old man was a heartrending story and I thought he sang better than any of the bona fide contestants. It sure is looking like a long two and a half months to the 12 finalists. Here is the schedule only obvious the Los Angeles auditions were switched with the San Antonio ones.

Feb. 6

L.A. auditions

Feb. 7

The tryouts clip-show

Feb. 13

Hollywood Round, Part 1

Feb. 14

Hollywood Round concludes Top 24 semifinalists revealed

Feb. 20

Top 12 men perform

Feb. 21

Top 12 females perform

Feb. 22

First results show: two guys and two gals go home

Mar. 8

Top 12 finalists announced

Mar. 13

The finalists first performance show

Mar. 14

First finalist voted off

I think you need to watch the time and dates in your area. The list I'm typing from shows some dates and alternating times which I'm doubtful of. It's from TV Guide but when it says (8/9c) I think something is wrong LOL.

I haven't watched any of the audition rounds. I'll watch the "Best of the Rest" recap show and then the Hollywood round and start my regular viewing. My question though: have the audition episodes balanced out more, I.E. not focusing on just bad auditions. That really turned me off of the audition rounds the past two years.

And BTW, is anyone watching American Idol rewind? They just aired a recap episode (summing up the story so far and focusing on the top 30) and just aired the first Top 30 show in which Tamyra, Jim and Ryan were selected to be in the Top 10.

American Idol 6 Contestant Sean Michel – Exclusive Interview With Reality TV Magazine

During the American Idol audition episodes, there are usually a couple singers that stand out as unique and original. One of the singers that stood out during the American Idol 6 auditions was Sean Michel. Sean Michel showed up for the auditions with a look resembling Fidel Castro, but when he sang “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” in front of the American Idol judges he proved there was incredible talent behind his unusual look. Some more info about Sean Michel can be found on his MySpace page. Reality TV Magazine also recently contacted Sean Michel to find out more, so keep reading for our exclusive interview.

Reality TV Magazine: What made you decide to audition for American Idol?

Sean Michel: I didn't even decide to go until about 3AM the morning before the audition, as I had only just heard about it. Initially, the reason I went was to hang out with some friends I hadn't seen in a while who were also trying out (Rob and Tami Griffith) and also because it would be a funny story to tell. Also, it didn't hurt that I had some Memphis BBQ to look forward to.

Reality TV Magazine: When did you start singing?

Sean Michel: I have been singing my whole life. My mom used to sing in the church choir, and she was really my inspiration to start singing.

Reality TV Magazine: What is your favorite genre of music?

Sean Michel: I listen to a lot of black gospel. I also listen to a lot of indie rock bands. I don't really stick to just one genre I guess...

Reality TV Magazine: According to your MySpace page, you are in a band. What is the status of us your band as you take part in American Idol?

Sean Michel: The rest of the guys in the band support this whole American Idol thing. They've helped me with my interviews and have been there to pray for me and support me. I’m not a solo act, and they know how much they mean to me.

Reality TV Magazine: The songs on your MySpace page are very spirutual in nature. Is there a message you are trying to deliver with your songs? Can you tell us more about the message?

Sean Michel: The message I want to deliver is that all of us are in desperate need of something more out of life. And while we struggle after it in vain, God has appeared to us as a man to bring us to that very life we were always meant to live. I want to let people know there is another level to living that is only found when we lose ourselves to Jesus Christ.

Reality TV Magazine: At the Memphis auditions, you looked and dressed like Fidel Castro. Can you explain your look?

Sean Michel: This is just how I look. I’m not trying to look like anyone else. I just happen to like the look of a long beard and long hair. As for the hat, it was a gift from one of my real good friends a few years back, and its fits my head perfectly so I wear it a lot. The military looking shirt was just something I found at a thrift store once. I don't own a lot of shirts...it just happened to be the one I picked out at 3AM before we left.

Reality TV Magazine: Is there anything else that you would like to tell our readers?

Sean Michel: Oh, I’m sure I could go on an on. But I guess what I really want to say is that I'm an artist. That means a lot of things to me. First, I find a connection with my Creator as I am involved in the creative process of my art. And so my art, my songs, are meant to dig down deep in the soul of those who listen, so that it reflects that connection between me and God. It also means that there is a lot more that goes into a song than just hitting some notes. I want to craft every moment of singing a particular song so that I put my heart out there, not just my voice. And finally, I hope that anyone who sees or hears me sing will have no doubt that I have shared in the redemption of sins offered by Jesus Christ, because there is nothing else that I know to sing about that moves me so much as this.

    • Coming into June...   It just occurred to me that seeing Carter/Hope engaged that there was something missing. Oh, yeah! DAPHNE. I missed a few episodes, but she left, right? So is Ridge going to be the spoiler for Carter/Hope now? I felt that Daphne/Carter/Hope had more legs to it. But I guess we will see.   I did enjoy that show circling back around to Luna/Will/Electra. Katie was spitting nothing, but truth. Same for Sheila. And it's good to see Luna vs Electra, and they gave off more adversary chemistry this time around versus when they were at Deacon's.    I was happy to see Liam reduced to C plot.
    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
