Members King
The theme this week is stupid. They should have just picked Gwen/No Doubt songs. They shouldn't have gotten into the influences. It just gets messy. I'm sick of Lakisha. She's amazing, but it's the same every week. Blah Blah Blah. I feel like I've seen this performance from her ten times already. Boring! She does nothing for me. Sorry. Chris Sligh - he is one of my favs, and he was very disappointing. Gina - I love her! She really felt the song and gave it the emotional umph it needed. I am a big Gina fan. LOL! Gwen saying Sanjaya needs luck! And he does. God, he sucks. But I kind of like him. He amuses me. And he forgot the words. God, I love it. Hailie - Good song, but she is not good. Sorry once again, but when she gets into the thick of songs, she stinks. Simon said it the best - forgettable. Phil - he basically just imitated The Police's version. I really do not enjoy him anymore. Melinda - she's definitely growing on me. She can outsing Lakisha...and Fantasia. The song kind of stank, but she sang it really well. Blake - He's very good, but his ego will be his downfall. Jordin - so obsessed!!!!! Not her best, but dayum, she did great things with HEY BABY! Chris - He's so sexy. He did so well tonight. I'm proud of him. I prefer him to Blake.
Members alwaysAMC
Exactly - that was the point that drove me over the edge. After that 'hug', I just had to say something about it. Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way... Oh and I just caught Chris R.'s performance on YouTube, since my tape missed it last night bc AI ran over....and I actually really liked his version of "Don't Speak". He did a great job IMO, especially the beginning of the song.
Members RogerNewcomb
I loved Chris Richardson and Melinda Doolittle last night. I don't think Ryan was dissing Melinda as much as responding to some of the funny stuff that's been said. If you guys haven't watched the E! "Melinda Doolittle School of Humility" sketch, go find it and watch. It's hilarious. I hope Chris Sligh goes home tonight. I'm really sick of him. To me, it seems like he thinks he's funny, and I can't stand people who THINK they're funny. Sanjaya may not be the best singer, but between the crying girl and mohawk, his performances have made me laugh harder than I have during any sitcom this year. In terms of being an interesting TV Show, I would rather watch Sanjaya than Phil or Chris S. or Haley any day. None of them are going to win so we might as well be entertained along the way. Members EricaKane70
Because he's the underdog, plus I want to see if a horrible singer can be the next american idol.lol
Members JER Soaps Fan
Oh, thank God. You think he's awful too! Whew... that was a close one.

Members Joe
I vow now with you fellow soap fans as my witness that if Gina goes home tonight instead of Sanjaya, I will not watch Idol for the remainder of the season, if not, ever. Members alwaysAMC
Well - I'm not too sad to see Chris Sligh go home. I really liked him in the beginning - but after the live shows started, he really stopped impressing me - and he quit being funny. Each week it just got worse and worse.... Phil and Hayley still need to go next. Well Sanjaya too, but at least his hair brings drama/entertainment to the show. Phil and Hayley are just BORING. Members DaysFanJean
Chris S. was at the bottom of my list and also Dial Idol and AOL polls. I think it was obvious that he would be going. Somewhere along the way, he seemed to loose his charm and just couldn't get it back. His voice is very pretty and I loved how he sang tonight while giving each remaining contestant a hug. Classy. I agree. The next two to go will be Haley and Phil.
Members RogerNewcomb
I much preferred Sanjaya to Chris Sligh. I am so happy he's gone!!! Next up - Phil!
Members PhoenixRising05
Sanjaya has got to go!! I mean, he has been in the bottom one week. That is sad. Having said that, like Stephanie who left last week Chris S lost alot of his appeal. He seemed to peek early and he was quite standoffish at times. He sometimes turned me off with his attitude and forced humor. There were also rumors that he wasn't that interested in the competition anymore and only doing it for his fans at this point as it wasn't what he expected. I like Haley but Phil has got to go next. I think if Haley stops acting like McPhee II she will be fine. That is partly Ai's fault because of how they make her look but I feel she has potential if she gives a effort to give out a solid performance each week. I was also happy they let Chris S sing. They did a much better job with time tonight. I was happy they brought back the end with the eliminated contestant singing and I was happy to see Chris embrace his fellow contestants and say goodbye. That is what I like to see. It was classy and I am glad Idol is showing that kind of ending for the show again. It was missed and so is the group performances. I wish those would come back but they give alot of time to recapping, the guest mentor, promoting stuff, etc. Not looking to Tony Bennett but hopefully things go better then this week. I was really bored this week and didn't like the broadness of the theme and so on.
Members RogerNewcomb
Starting in two weeks, the results shows will be an hour. I'm glad. I used to think it was too long, but this year I have felt they were very rushed.
