Melinda's good, she's consistent, but as someone mentioned above, she sounds the same in every song. She doesn't have much vocal range.

Jordin's got the vocals. She can belt a song and sing it so strongly that it seeps into the walls. Vocally, she's the best of them all. I don't know if she chose the best song tonight as her final performance, though. Didn't she perform that earlier in the season? I would've liked to hear something new... something more current. Still, she did a spectacular job.

Blake? Meh. I don't like him. He doesn't have the vocals. He can beat box and do little tricks with his songs, but as for his actual vocals, he's much like Melinda... doesn't have very much range. He sounds the same in every song.

Politics and other bullsh!t aside, Jordin deserves to win. She has the voice.

Blake - imitation, imitation, imitation. All three songs. They were good, but he did them all the same way. NOTHING was different.

Jordin - Jordin had the song of the night with her last one, but overall tonight, it goes to...

Melinda - was the best of the night, but if you took her songs and put each up individually against Jordin's last, Jordin would win.

Hoping for a Melinda/Jordin final two, but who knows. If Katherine "Touch My Beaver" McPheever could make it into the final two, then so could Blake.

King, what a load of S H I T. Blake is mucho talented. He's very good---singing wise, entertaining wise, beatboxing wise, remixing wise and producing wise.

Taylor can sometimes hold a note, but often sang songs just the same, and sometimes sang very offkey. His performances, as Simon often noted, were like a drunk at a wedding.

Blake is far better looking than Taylor Hicks, who's not remotely good looking at all. Anyone who thinks Taylor Hicks is good looking is either blind, or in very much need of glasses or a new prescriptiong for glasses or contacts.

Wanting Blake dead, that's pretty sick.

Melinda not having range??!?!??!? What a load of S H I T. Simon, Randy & Paula have all stated she does and have complemented her time and again. Melinda outsangs everyone on IDOL this year and sung every song she sung tonight and previously diffferently. She sings many ways and puts feeling in her songs.

Jordin does have the voals, but was easily the worst tonight and the worst of the 3 period. She's been very inconsistent. Spectacular job, that's WAAY OVERSTATING IT. She did great on "I Who Have Nothing" (doing it even better than her prior performance of the song but agree with Simon that the song doesn't suit a 17 year old like Jordin). She did "Wishing On a Star" well, but I really didn't like the arrangement either (as Simon stated). Her "She Works Hard for the Money" was just ok imho.

Blake does have the vocals, although I agree not as good as Melinda and Jordin at her best. He does NOT sound the same in every song.

You're not putting bullsh!t asisde by saying Jordin deserves to win. That's total bullsh!t.

Ok - I'm torn, bc I love this top 3 and think all could win.

I was all prepared to say "Blake/Melinda for final 2" - until Jordin's last song - and WOW that was amazing.

I really loved Blake's "Roxanne" - I know Simon didn't really - but I thought the arrangement was great. His Maroon 5 was good too. He probably should have picked a more popular Robin Thicke song to close though.

Melinda - ok I was a little irritated she picked a song she's already performed before. That seemed lazy to me, even though it was good. Did anyone else catch that she forgot/missed a few of her lyrics there in the beginning? You could tell in her face she was freaking out too - and was surprised the judges didn't pick up on it afterwards.

It seems like Simon is trying to push for a Blake/Melinda final 2 - bc he wasn't really nice to Jordin tonight, even in her last song which honestly I thought was the best performance of the entire night.

Anyway - I love all 3 - and it's hard to choose for me - but I'll say Jordin is going home.

Blake's version of "This Love" by Maroon 5 was weird. The music was moving at one speed but he sang it at another... it was just odd. My mother and I both looked at one another during her performance with sour, disgusted looks on our faces, LoL.

I wouldn't read much into Simon's comments, though. Often times, I think he's really harsh with someone specifically so that it'll get their fans worried and voting even more than usual. In the end, that can end up saving someone, and Simon knows that. Perhaps that's what he was trying to do in order to cement Jordin's seat in the finale.

I think that is exactly what he was doing, Kenny. Simon knows Jordin needed the votes because I think he knew Melinda would do well and that she would get a push based on her being last and all. Plus, Simon never mentioned who was going to the finale like Randy did. Simon didn't want to jinx Jordin or cost her votes so he shutup and just said Melinda is who he wants to see go.

No one deserves to be in this finale more then Jordin and Melinda. They have the vocals and this is a singing competition. I like Blake but it's not even close. I also wonder what happened to Clive. It was weird having the producers do it and there were some weird choices like Jordin's first song and Blake's first. You could also tell the show wants Jordin/Melinda because they sandwiched Blake between them. I am surprised they didn't do what they did to Elliot last year and have the judges and Clive pick boring songs to ruin him and send him home. That is what happened with Elliot. The only song that worked for him was the song he picked and the others were dull or bad. I think they wanted to do that to Blake but Paula likes him so she picked a good song. Blake did ok tonight but Melinda owned tonight and Jordin has done well enough and did well enough tonight to go. Overall, a good night and most of the song choices worked good for the singers IMO. Blake lagged a bit but it wasn't terrible.

Here are my performance rankings:

First Song

1.) Melinda

2.) Jordin

3.) Blake

Second Song

1.) Melinda

2.) Blake

3.) Jordin

Third Song

1.) Jordin

2.) Melinda

3.) Blake

Should be fun tomarrow. Can't wait to see Elliot and to begin the countdown to the finale.

I just had to check Dial Idol as though it meant anythiing LOL. Of course Melinda is undisputedly Number One, but surprisingly Blake and Jordin are in a virtual tie. I favor Melinda and Jordin, but now think Melinda will win hands down....unless Jordin delivers in the finale like her last song and one similar she did a few times back (forgot the name) if she is in the finale. Blake cannot come close to Melinda in the finale. Just my thinking, of course.

    • Breakdown writers can pitch stories and obviously they have influence over what is included in the breakdown but MVJ is the final decision maker. It depends on the faith you have in MVJ if you feel Carlivati is going to be a problem. I don't think a throwaway having a book author named after him is a sign he's taken over the show. Most people didn't even catch the reference.
    • Tamara Tunie reading that damn letter is exactly why I wish this show had more experienced actors.

    • Oh wow. After reading your post, I realized that they had "Carl Ivati" in the script AGAIN yesterday June 6.    Eva said she was reading his latest, and Tomas said "Work's been so busy, I haven't had time to get into his new series". Then Eva proceeds to tell him that "the first book is called 'Mercy and Goodness' and it's all about how the couple first met and how they got separated".   She goes on and on about how great it is. And she says she has the book in her hotel room if he wants to borrow it. She says it has twists and turns. And meanwhile Kat is snooping in Eva's room to look for the helmet and gloves, and finds the book and dismisses it as "basic". I saw that whole scene -- but I wasn't paying attention to the name of the author.  And when Tomas said the name, I heard it in his accent so I didn't hear "carlivati".  II was mainly trying to see if the acting had improved with the actor playing Tomas, and I think he has improved somewhat.   I only see it when typed out. So they had several scenes yesterday about a "Carl Ivati" book?  Barf! Well at least Kat had the good sense to dismiss it as "basic". Ron Carlivati wrote the breakdown yesterday!   Featuring himself in it! Addressing to the collective "you" whoever you may be: Some of you, months ago, said Oh Ron is only doing breakdowns.  The story comes from MVJ, so he won't influence things, you said. May 27 started it, with Christopher Dunn breakdown and Lynn Martin script. But they didn't need to continue it June 6 with Carlivati breakdown and Jazmen Darnell Brown script.
    • I was completely lost. But it is wonderful that it exists. I didn't really know Robert Mandan had done soaps...well, besides SOAP.
    • Jack and Jennifer are tired. I just don't care about them when they return. They add nothing to the show.
    • Did they really bring back Jack and Jennifer for Jack to prop up Leo and Jenn to serve as an obstacle to Chad/Cat? Are we sure Ron still isn't in the building?
    • We can only hope that they finally kill off Leo too
    • We can only hope that maybe the new writers might read this.
