I will never ever understand the love for Sanjaya. But whatever. The judges put him through for whatever inane reason and he has his fanbase. He won't win but unfortunately he might go a LOT further than we think.

Once the Middle of the road singers (Chris Sligh, Haley, Phil, possibly Gina) are gone then Sanjaya will go. That's my opinion.

If LaKisha goes tonight I seriously might quit watching Idol. It would be a huge travesty. But I wouldn't be surprised.

What week did Mandisa go out last year? She was similar to LaKisha (just like Nadia Turner the year before that), all three peaked early and were then "shockingly" booted about midway through the competition.

This isn't yet half-way through. Nadia was warned by Simon about her straying from recognized songs to sing and her unothodox hairstyles. I thought it was funny in a way that Nadia lost the week she wore her Mohawk and Sanjaya got more votes. Mandisa made a serious error in judgement that did her in. I think LaKisha was awful last night. She ruined one of my favorite songs. Maybe a lot of fans don't know that song but it was a very bad delivery and rendition. Right now it seems by the polls that Gina may go tonight instead of LaKisha. At least we will know soon.

Lakisha and Sanjaya are safe. I think Phil or Hayley will go home tonight. Sanjaya wasn't even in the bottom three, I think he's at least going to survive the next 2-4 weeks. I think he will get booted off when it comes down to jordin, melinda, and Lakisha.

I am through with Haley too. She cried at first but when the camera gets off her she smiles. Last week she got caught smiling too after she was safe. I can't stand her, Phil, or Sanjaya. This is like season 3 all over again.

Poor Gina. This sucks. If either Blake, Chris, Lakisha, Jordin, or Melinda go before Sanjaya I am through. Next week, I am voting for everyone but Haley, Sanjaya, and Phil. We should all band together and tell everyone to do the same. These threee, especially the running joke known as Sanjaya, have to go!!

Better Gina than LaKisha and that's about what it would have been except LaKisha was saved by some last minute votes or manipulations. Sanjaya is not a joke as too many of those in power like him as well as the voting public. I love him myself. He certainly deserves his place. He earned it. I really thought Haley would go before Gina but she was not good and a lot of times a poor showing (out of her rock aura) will do a contestant in. Chris R., Phil and Blake most likely got the votes for people liking that sort of music. Now that Gina is out, I think Blake will get her votes. I don't see Haley lasting but one or two more times. She and Phil will go the next two times and then Sanjaya is the way I see it right now. If Sanjaya keeps impressing and improving he could last longer.

I made my vow a few pages back on this thread and I will remain true to my word. I will now no longer be watching American Idol due to Gina's elimination occuring prior to Sanjaya's. I knew Gina wasn't going to win, but the fact that the American public has once again put Sanjaya through and yet another good singer has been sent packing, solidifies this show as being reality tv at its finest: ONE FAT JOKE. Anyway, go Blake! Gina still rocks, and I'll be one of the first to buy her album when it comes out.
