I was flicking through the channels and saw Kirsten as Maxie on GH. And that got me thinking how much I looooved Kirsten as Belle and how much I don't accept Martha in that role at all. I've completely hated the Belle character since Kirsten left.

Anyway, that got me thinking of yesteryear and how much I used to love Shawn and Belle as a couple. Now, not so much..I prefered Jason Cook's Shawn with Mimi. And I hate Belle now, so I didn't mind that she was with Philip (even though Philip belonged with Chloe).

Nothing against Martha--she was great as Lola on Passions. But she's no Belle, and she never will be.

Martha's overrated. But bubble gum Kristen is no gem, as she continues to contribute to the suckiness of GH. Blahhhhhhhhh.

The same thing can be said about Erin Torpey. She also has that young face and it would be ridiculous to see her as a mother on One Life to Live. It just wouldn't look right. The character of Jessica has matured, just as much as the character of Belle has.

Wasn't Torpey's Jessica a teen mother (briefly) back in 1999 or so?

He certainly does NOT speak for the majority of Days fans or for the majority of fans of any other show. He spouts off about his "views" and "opinions", which garner the attenion he wants; and this thread is a prime example of that. In his world he's allowed to bash any show he wants, but the people who express their dislike about shows that he is a fan of are crazy and have no sense of taste in his opinion.

That's not true. I do speak for the majority of Days viewers. The Kirsten non-fans are crazy for not liking Kirsten. She's cute and sweet and awesome--anyone who doesn't like that is questionable to me.

Okay, I think people are getting a little carried away at trashing Kirsten. Sure, she may not be the best actress on Daytime, but there are plenty of others out there as well (Natalia Livingston, Chrishelle ??? (Amanda, AMC), the actress that plays Maddie, etc.). Do I think that Storms could ever play the present-day Belle? Hell no! However, I do believe that if Belle never had Claire, then Kirsten could fit back into the role. She wasn't that bad lol. It's just not her role anymore and because she has that cute teen-ness about her, she will never be able to play Belle again.

I love how DAYS and GH fans are arguing about which show can have an actor in that neither wants her, when usually it's the other way around.

I never saw Kristen as Belle, but I think Martha is doing a great job. From what I see from Kristen playing Maxie on GH, I can't see her as playing a mother. She looks all of 18. I think she's fine where she is (meaning playing a teen).

I agree in a sense... Sometimes I am at everyone acting as if Martha was Judi Dench or something! Martha is great, but nothing to write home about as they say.

LOL, you really want us to praise Kirsten, don't you Rion? If it was a choice between Storms and Charity Rhymer, I don't think there's even a discussion here. Storms would be the better TEEN mother than Rhymer. The fact of the matter is, Belle is not a teenage mother. She is a mature mother in her mid-20s, something Kirsten could never play currently. Give her 10 years, and then she can play a mother in her mid-20s

Rionspassions, reading your comments lately reminded me of a poster that I haven't seen in a while. Have you ever heard of a poster by the name of AlisterCraneJr. I think that was the poster's name. He really liked JER's writing and IIRC liked KS a lot too. But it's been a while since I've seen the poster on various message boards....

Anyway, I really admire how you stick to your guns and post messages even when they're not all that popular.

As for your admiration of Kirsten Storms, you're certainly not alone. I know there are some Shelle fans who call Martha M and Brandon B fauxShelle and will never accept the recasts. I guess everyone has different styles of performance that they like. I prefer Martha Madison and don't like KS on either Days or GH. So I don't miss KS at all. But she must have meant a great deal to you as Belle, given that she's been off the show for almost 3 years now...
