From a financial standpoint (the only important thing to NBC), PTT was a smashing successful, bringing in the big bucks.

From a story perspective, it did nothing. Not only did the online videos reveal nothing new or shocking, the on-screen stuff didn't do anything, either. The only secret exposed during this storyline was Ivy's, and she had nothing to do with JT Cornell. At least at the end of Red and Vendetta, the mysterious figure was revealed. We didn't get that with PTT. We just got a lame-ass fantasy of Jared proposing to Theresa.

The only plus side of PTT was Virtual Harmony and the classic videos we got to uncover, like Grace almost drowning on the prom boat, and Grace cursing Ivy after Ivy killed her unborn son.

Hopefully Passion's online spin-off soap "The Cove" is more entertaining in 2007.

Tabloid Truth was a complete failure, financially mabye a success but this was just like Vendetta where all we did was have JT run around, try to get out of town, can't! Theresa catches him, but he worms his way out of the truth. They back down after Little Ethan's true paternity was revealed, and went in round over and over. Ivy reveal was good when it was actually revealed but it was so sudden and then the aftermath was terrible.

The peeping Tom was bad too just because of all the rape.

If Sheridan/Luis/Fancy was included that was bad too because of Sheridan's destruction.

JT coming out of the cake was good, but it doesn't justify a thing.

So, Tabloid Truth was really a failure.

Let's play a game! Let's rank the three Passions online tie-ins:

RED:

Pros:

-the gothic nature of the mystery

-featured a sneak preview of Maya weeks before she debuted

Cons:

-the inconsistency of the Lady in White's voice

-the advertisements

-the lack of bonus features

-the overall lack of impact of the reveal and the storyline as a whole

VENDETTA:

Pros:

-showcased the return of Beth several episodes before her reappearance on the actual show

-featured the stabbing of Father Lonigan, a crucial plot point that was exclusive to PassionsVendetta.com

-the classic bonus videos, such as Gwen attacking Theresa with a baseball bat

-better bonus features

Cons:

-all those darn clues, especially the ones you had to search for in the advertisements

-bonus features still could've used improvement

-only one major character returned to the show: Beth - this story could have been used to bring back Grace, Charity, etc...

TABLOID TRUTH:

Pros:

-Virtual Harmony and all its bonus features, like the classic videos

-the site design and less-invasive advertisements

-the return of Grace and Charity, while not directly tied to PTT.com, was encompassed by this umbrella story

Cons:

-the lack of anything new revealed in the bonus videos

-the fact that nothing happened on screen as

Overall, I'd rank them as such:

RED: C+

VENDETTA: B+

TABLOID TRUTH: B+

Vendetta and Tabloid Truth balanced each other out, but neither had something that gave it the edge over the other.

Here is the problem with TT-it did nothing.

Red and Vendetta, which both sucked until their final weeks story-wise, gave us some pretty good aftermath even if the show got bad after the aftermath played out. TT has done nothing to even create an aftermath. The Ivy reveal was the only thing revealed thus far and while that was an ok reveal, it was nowhere close to the reveal it should've been.

I love JT but basing a whole story on his running around is lame. It seems like this was more of a buildup story then Red and Vendetta was since only the past few episodes have had things happen that will give us something to deal with after this arc is over.

I thought still had a few weeks left though. Maybe I'm wrong. Financially, all of these online things have been a success but story-wise, they have been hit and miss. I would say the end of Red and Vendetta were the best moments of any of these only because the show got good in the aftermath of these and gave us a few weeks of solid stuff.

For it to have financially been a success, it would have to have brought in ratings.......and it didn't.

Story-wise, it was better than Vendetta. That's not saying much, but it's a step in the right direction!

The online part does well financially King.

I think it has something to do with the amount of hits to the site and the product promotion on the site and that is why Passions keeps doing these. Their ratings suck but I guess this helps them out a bit.

If they put as much effort into the sites as they did writing and stories, they would be better off.

Actually, the website was a financial success...that's what that is based on. Lots and lots of hits make the advertisers happy.

I honestly don't see how you could think TT was a better story than Vendetta, especially since Vendetta featured the return of the fabulous Beth!! But different strokes, I guess...

Because TT was not an embarassing, poorly produced joke ruined by bad acting, bad writing, and bad special effects? :D

What bad acting? It featured the same actors that Passions usually does...the only bad actor was Danica Stewart, and she's consistently bad in every storyline.

The special effects were just as good as what we usually get on Passions, specifically in comparsion to Hell in a Closet.

The writing was good, but I guess you have to like the DaVinci Code to get it. Alistair's motivations made complete sense. The only bad part about it was lack of movement on the Ethan and Theresa front, but I've come to expect nothing from ET.

What Bad acting in Vendetta??????????? I won't even comment on that!

P.S. I liked the Da Vinci Code. Vendetta still sucked.

Anyway, how do we know TT got a lot of hits? Did nbc.com/PSNS tell us?

Obviously if you can't pinpoint the bad acting, then there wasn't any. Weak argument.

I liked the international espionage DaVinci Code feel of Vendetta. I don't see how it didn't appeal to everyone, especially with the campiness like the lesbian riots and the sparkling chalice.

ALSO, Vendetta had MAJOR MAJOR story movements, like Chad and Whitney discovering they weren't siblings, and Theresa learning Little Ethan was Ethan's!
