Donald Trump to Sue Rosie O'Donnell

Rosie O'Donnell had some fiery words for Donald Trump on The View Wednesday morning, calling him a "snake-oil salesman" following his announcement that he would not fire troubled Miss USA Tara Conner.

After hearing about her comments, Trump fired back to PEOPLE, calling her "a woman out of control" and saying he planned to sue O'Donnell over her statements questioning his financial well-being.

"You can't make false statements," Trump tells PEOPLE exclusively. "Rosie will rue the words she said. I'll most likely sue her for making those false statements – and it'll be fun. Rosie's a loser. A real loser. I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie."

The battle began on Wednesday's show, when a peeved O'Donnell said: "(He) left the first wife – had an affair. (He) had kids both times, but he's the moral compass."

O'Donnell, who impersonated Trump by deepening her voice and flipping her hair to one side, aimed her criticism at his comment from the Tuesday press conference that, "I've always been a believer in second chances. Tara is good person. Tara has tried hard. Tara is going to be given a second chance."

Conner, who just turned 21, will go to rehab but keep her crown, following reports of alleged drug and alcohol abuse. A grateful Conner apologized for her behavior at the press conference, and she thanked Trump for his compassion.

But O'Donnell was not as touched. After repeatedly saying she "didn't enjoy him," Rosie discussed Trump's finances – saying he went bankrupt, which Trump denies – and likened him to the "snake-oil salesman on Little House On The Prairie. This is not a self-made man," O'Donnell said.

And while O'Donnell and her View co-hosts discussed Conner's alleged drug and alcohol abuse, Rosie was dismissive, saying, "She went out and she was partying – doing what Paris and Lindsay do."

She also turned her wrath toward the Miss USA organization itself. "Miss America is the prestige," she said. "Miss USA is a different thing. It's basically a model competition. Let's be realistic."

Trump's response? "She talked about the Miss USA contest, which has terrific ratings on NBC. Miss America got thrown off of network television! It's (on cable), where nobody watches it," he said, countering her statements. "And my father never gave me tons of money."

He also thinks Rosie's rant against him was personal. Trump says he once sarcastically chastised Rosie about her "failed magazine" and "failed talk show." Added The Donald: "I think she's just terrible."

Rosie's show was a hit....as well as her magazine till all the stuff hit the fan...I however, think Donald is right in some aspects of what he said.

I think that was beside the point. Trump was just looking for ways to insult her... And karma is a [!@#$%^&*], so she deserves anything people throw at her. If she can insult people and accuse them of things, then other people can insult her and accuse her of things.

Exactly! She is getting what she desrves. If she can dish it out, she should be able to take it.

Prolly the minority here, but I love Rosie! Always have and always will. The lady speaks her mind, no appologies and they have constantly been making more of situations between her and others, out to be bigger than they really are. There is a freakin war going on folks, who give's a rat's behind what the ladies on the View are saying...if you don't like, don't watch it...cliche, but true. Looks like I will be skipping the Apprentice this time around and from here on out...Depsite what you feel about Rosie or her comments, Donald acted like a big baby, but it was a smart move, all this press with the Miss USA thing and now this...bet hopes that this gives a rating boost to his sinking show...haha, that's why it didn't even come back until this next jan. people were finally getting tired of the show and they had to stop airing two seasons a year.

It made no sense when he said the earlier Ro show failed. It didn't. Why didn't "Access" call him on that? It was a smash hit.

Donald is just grasping at straws to keep the media on him! Access didn't call him on cuz they suck....I hate those shows anyhoo...they always act like they are reporters for hard-hitting news and it's bascially a tv version of the Star or what not.

Trump is supposed to be on Larry King tonight at 9pm to talk about the feud.

...and the war, or should I say, media whoring, still lives on....damn these celebrities....get a life!

I don't really see the grounds Donald has to sue Rosie. She spoke her "VIEWS" on The View...this is a free country and while her comments may not have been true, they are simply what she thought.

They both need to shut up, however, I side with Rosie on this one!

Donald is not a nice guy. He has been going off on Rosie non-stop since Wednesday. Rosie's comments did not merit such a harsh comeback, on Larry King tonight he dissed her so bad asking Larry "How'd you like to kiss that goodnight?" Enough already!

She deserves it. Rosie is SCUM.

She doesn't deserve to have Donald threaten her partner. He said he was going to get "some guys to go get Kelly." He is the one taking things way too far now. He's the one acting like scum.

Never said he wasn't. But the attitude I get from the media and from a lot of Rosie lovers on this board is that her actions are somewhat justifiable. Damn anyone who dare call her on her [!@#$%^&*] or play the same bully game that she is doing.

I know where you're coming from bellcurve, I do think Rosie is a bigmouth and it seems not a day goes by anymore that she puts her foot in her mouth. It is annoying. But Donald's reaction has gone from defensive to completely mean-spirited and somewhat scary, when it comes to mentioning her girlfriend, who has nothing to do with this feud. If he's pissed at Rosie, that's one thing. But he needs to leave her family out of it.
