GL: How is it lately?

I used to tune in every once in a while and kinda enjoyed it, though I know I am in the minority. Once school and work started I've been too busy. Is the show any good lately?

I don't know about anyone else, but I have been enjoying it lately. Most of the storylines have been wrapping up and moving a little faster.

I've tuned in a lot lately and I've been enjoying the show a lot.

really?

Now, I know Roger, and if he likes it, then I have to tune in now.

Is it more...character-driven?

I'm enjoying it. It's not my favorite soap, but there are a lot of characters and actors on the show that I love to watch.

LOL, what are you trying to say?

For some reason I put GL on my Tivo when they started Daytime Dollars. I ended up not watching (that contest sucked) and it would just delete off after a few days. But with the Reva stuff coming to a head, I started tuning in. Back in the 80s, AW and GL were my favorite soaps. I've always loved Reva (Kim Zimmer once sat in front of me at a Giants game) so I wanted to see how this cancer thing played out.

I think it's sometimes easier to watch a new show and appreciate the performances than to watch it every day and notice all the flaws. Since I watch ATWT every day, I notice all the plot holes, misused characters, and general idiocy. But since I had a long, long break from GL, going back now that stuff doesn't bother me so much. I am not watching every day but have tuned in quite a bit lately and have enjoyed it.

I'll add as an outsider and relatively new casual viewer, I too am finding the show very enjoyable. I've found the cast interactions a lot better than I expected thus far e.g. Lillian looking after Reva, Blake being outed as the blogger, Mel being prominent at the hospital.

There is very little I dislike about the show at the moment. Obviously production values are still in the toilet but I feel the show is doing a tremendous job with very little.

That's exactly how I felt about Passions when I caught the show yesterday! I surprisingly didn't mind the campiness and was blown away when I realized how talented Lindsay Korman is. After only a year of watching the show, I quickly forgot that because of the writing. On the other hand, though..it may be because everyone else on the show isn't that great. But I found myself being entertained by the scenes with Theresa at least...even if they were plot-driven and rather silly.

Back to GL..from a regular viewer's perspective, I admit I have characters and couples I like and characters I'm not particularly that interested to watch but lately, I've been finding that the characters I don't normally find interesting are worth watching. I actually want to know what happens next in their scenes. The cast interactions have been great..no one's in their own little island. There also seems to be more balance in airtime and so we are starting to see a lot of characters who have been backburned for months.

What I like about the show is the small town feel. The small cast helps it alot, and the superb acting rocks.
