Hell I wouldn't be surprised if GH got a 2.9 last week just for Friday's episode. I think GH will be in the 3.0's this Nov. I'd excpect AMC and OLTL to juggle around the 2.5-2.7 area.

GH's ratings will soar in November, I think. Unfortunately.

Thanks for the info David. I had no idea there were that many soaps on at one time. Cable has really messed up the whole genre.

I do think GH will do well in sweeps. Which means that Frons will probably keep his job. I would have to say though, if I were his boss, I would be upset that he focuses so much on one soap and neglects the shows that need the most help. His bias is hurting ABC daytime more than anything else. For that reason, among many others, he should be fired. I would fire him. Put me in charge!!!

To show how much changed in 4 years:

Source: Jason47's Days page

June 10-14 1985

1.General Hospital 9.2

2.All My Children 8.8

3.Young & The Restless 8.3

4.One Life To Live 7.8

5.Days Of Our Lives 7.1

5.Guiding Light 7.1

7.As The World Turns 6.4

8.Another World 5.7

9.Capitol 5.3

10.Loving 4.4

11.Santa Barbara 3.8

12.Search For Tomorrow 3.4

13.Ryan's Hope 3.0

Notice that by then, whilst ABC was still going strongly its dominance had lessened. Y&R meanwhile was getting closer to the top. The change in timeslots for Loving and Ryan's Hope around 1984 clearly had an impact on both soaps' numbers- upwards for Loving, and effectively sealing RH's fate.

Capitol was past the peak of its popularity, whilst Santa Barbara was yet to reach the peak of its popularity in the late 80s. But you can clearly see the big gains made by Days and AW compared with 1981.
