Yeah - that was Mrs. McCluskey's house that got totally ruined - where Tom, Ida, and the kids were supposedly. I'm thinking Ida is the 'dear friend' they all lose. And Victor was the husband.

What a freakin' awesome episode though! Loved it!

Too bad we have to wait until the strike is over to find out what happens!!!! :(

I loved the episode!

I thought Victor's death was so excellent. Picketed to death!

Specifically, I thought Nicollette Sheridan gave a really great reaction when she saw the tornado and told Gabby to get inside. It was very restrained and was quite realistic and if Edie was very terrified and stunned.

Great episode for the most part. I was really, really pissed that Julie and Andrew were nowhere to be found. The show's two best young talent, both really great performers, and they are always playing supporting to the older characters. Granted, the show is centered on the older characters, but I still think the kids should be more involved in things. Off the top of my head, Andrew sooooo could have slept with Adam Mayfair some time this season. I wouldn't be surprised if he was gay.

But anyway, on to the positives. Edie and Gabrielle's togetherness was great. I loved them fighting over the papers in the house while a storm is about to blow into the neighborhood. My heart strings were popping when they had their talk in the bathroom during the tornado.

I don't think we saw enough of Mike and Susan for me to really care...Mike's a douche, and I'm really, really proud of Susan for handing him his ass. She got a backbone and I'm just really happy for her.

The stuff at Bree's...okay...why is Orson still around? Rex died after a season, but Orson's been around for three? It's time for him to go, really. I can't stand him. But anyway, the Bree/Katherine rivalry is really good, so I hope they don't ruin that by making them closer. I could not stand that bitch who was after Adam...she was like a reeeeally really annoying version of Nora.

Lynette...eh, she's okay. Felicity Huffman has been really hamming it up this season...the episode where she had the reoccuring dream about Mary Alice's suicide? The very end, where she "asks" Mary Alice what's wrong...that was horrible. And so was that scream at the end. McCluskey was dead-on when she called Lynette on her [!@#$%^&*]. Lynette hated the woman until she realized she'd babysit her kids for her.

The ending was amazing, absolutely amazing. Marc Cherry knows nothing anymore about writing good primetime soap. Tonight's episode was the type of thing that a soap in the 1980s or 1990s would have ended a season with. And the next season would pick right up where it ended...none of this "skip ahead six months" [!@#$%^&*]. This cliffhanger...it actually had me not wanting the show to end. NONE of the season finales have ever done that to me, ever.

I'm rooting for the death of Lynette's fictional family. Never have I seen a more annoying family portrayed on tv.

Also there was a real goof in the script. Why did they all have to go to Mrs. Mcclusky little basement when Gabby has one. When Carlo's was looking for her he came in shouting, "Gabby, Gabby where are you, we have to get in the basement".

im not going off spoilers at all here cuz i dont read them, but i as i said before, at the start they said one would lose a husband. so only one husband dies and IMHO gabbys husband died. as for the dear friend, it as prob mrs C's friend.

Julie was away on ome overnight field trip think with Colleen from Y&R or whoever she is on this show. Katherne told her daughter to tell Julie she would keep an eye on her mom. well thats what i got from it anyways.

and im sure that Andrew & Danielle will have been out of town as well.

It was ok.

I don't comment alot but today I am bored so I figured I would  .

It was a great comedy piece but I was expecting more drama following what happened. I knew who would die but the beginning still gave me chills with each kid coming out and then the gap in time between the kids and Tom coming out.

The Bree stuff was great, as was Susan loving having her around. I also liked Lynette and Karen's mission to honor Ida and Lynette wanting to get to know her in the end.

The rest was eh. The Gabby plot was dull IMO and they played her for stupid by not having her wonder why Carlos had those bandages around his eyes for so long. They shot ahead 7 days and Gabby would've asked about that at least.

It just seemed a little to ordinary with all the hype. This has been a great season but this, to me, suggests that maybe it was about go into a lull anyway. I will still miss it though.

    • OLD P&G ACTORS? Where is this coming from? In case you've forgotten, which would be hard to do because of TIDE and Febreze P&G is one of the sponsors of this new soap we love!!! Also Lindstrom never worked on a P&G soap. Cady, of course, did, but that's because she has worked for everyone!!!  Who else? TTunie? You don't want her around because of Jessica on ATWT? Agree to disagree if so!!! And, KaMo just because she was on GL? I cannot go there with you. Sorry. Not sorry!
    • Oh yes, The Bay, haha. She was... decent? Trust me... I hate the friendship, and the same goes with Anna/Sonny, which is why I adored when Patrick Mulcahey came in and said, "This isn't happening anymore!" And it felt amazing to me!
    •   I really like your analysis.   This isn't about a stereotype of black men being cheaters.  This is about a soap opera in which one couple was regarded to be flawed and the other regarded to be perfect, but there were issues underneath the supposedly perfect one.       Very good point that they started the show in these early months with a classic  sex and betrayal story to get people hooked.  I agree with you that we'll see more aspects and layers of all the characters as the months and years go by.
    • Oh, I didn't know that about Melgar.  She's not a GH alum I particularly follow obviously lol.  I remember she had a brief period of relevance when she did that web soap and people were saying she was a good actress.  Not on GH lol, but that's for the classic thread. It's just too much of a friendship. They can be pals or co-grandparents or whatever, but Laura should not like Sonny THAT much.  And who in life blathers on about how much they enjoy one another's friendship for multiple days/episodes?  Lol. The part of the audience that likes Sonny (myself included) should know Sonny sucks and just accept it.  He's an awful human and I hate him 90% of the time but I like him 10% more than anyone on this board lol.  I don't need Laura or anyone in town to prop him up to me and I doubt people that dislike Sonny would be convinced to like him just because Laura apparently has horrible taste in friends and husbands, but I digress.
    • I do not buy that. I mean, I didn't go by Laura for years to be somehow accepting of rapist Luke. Why now would I go by her about our favorite narcissist Sonny? I wouldn't. Laura has never exhibited what you might call good judgment when it comes to people. I mean, she hasn't, you know?!!! Think of Esme!!!! Technically it was the 2000s.
    • In the new Soap Hub Says podcast they now refer to Bill as BilltheFixer. I love it!!! The moniker fits.
    • I see people saying this a lot but I always thought both things were plot points with a specific purpose. Martin running for president (something that would've been years down the line) was just to give us an opportunity to learn about his secret and that it involves Anita and Vernon. Naomi's lawsuit was used to develop her relationship with Bill and highlight his health issue. Those cases are almost always settled out of court so I didn't find anything odd about that, it was all about Naomi and Bill. I do wonder if Mike might've had better chemistry with Jen Jacob. At this point I feel he's right there with Derek in terms of being a weak link. He's a better actor but he doesn't have chemistry with anyone. These are the two characters I really hope they get a handle on in coming months.
    • From the original report, via Variety (December 2020): ❝ The project is currently titled Pine Valley, named after the fictional Philadelphia suburb that served as the setting for All My Children. In the new series, a young journalist with a secret agenda comes to expose the dark and murderous history of a town named Pine Valley only to become entangled in a feud between the Kane and Santos families. ❞
