If you could recast one role on a show or shows, who would it be and why. Note: Please only one role per show by any one poster.

I am going to start off with a few and I made add others later.

Young and the Restless

I would recast Judith Chapman as Gloria on Days. I love Judith Chapman as an actress but Gloria is not for her. If I couldn't have Joan Van Ark back since she doesn't want to do daytime, my ideal choice would be Judith Light. I loved her as Karen on OLTL, and feel that she should return to daytime. I have loved her in movies where she played a villianess. She would be perfect as Gloria. She even played a similar role in a TV movie a few years back.

As The World Turns

This one is hard. I would love to recast a few roles, but I think the one most important right now is the recasting of Lucy (Spencer Grammer). I feel that Lucy is going to be an important character to upcoming storylines and I just don't think Spencer can pull it off. As far as vets I would like someone like Erin Torpey or Bethany Joy Lenz in the role. Both are a few years older than Peyton List, and would fit with the image of doctor too.

Guiding Light

I know that this will be unpopular but I feel that the show needs a stronger Cassie. I loved Laura Wright in the role, but just have not warmed up to Nicole Forrester like some have. When Laura left for GH, I felt at the time that Cady McClain would have been perfect if GL could have convinced her to take it. I still feel that she would have been. I can imagine the great scenes between Cady and Kim esp. if they get into a big rivalry over Josh. But since Cady is not available I would love to see Noelle Beck in the role. I think she would be good in the role.

Bold & the Beautiful

As much as I love looking at Ronn Moss, I have always felt that the show needs a stronger actor in the role. So I would recast Ridge. Since he is now available I think John Callahan (who is a year younger than Ronn) would be perfect in the role. He is a great actor and equally nice to look at. My 2nd choice who is in the same age range would be John Bolger. He has great talent and is nice looking too.

Days of Our Lives

My original choice here was Sean Brady but he has just been recast. I will wait to see if my choice would have been better or not. BTW my choice was Rider Strong (of Boy Meets World). I will go to my 2nd choice. From day one that the Bonnie character showed up, I felt that she should have been played by an older actress. I love Judi Evans, but feel that this role was made Ilene Kristen. I think she would have been super as Bonnie.

All My Children

I have had several ideas for changes here, and have stated many of them in my thread on AMC changes. I will state who I feel is my #1 change here. I love Bobbie Eakes, but have always wanted Judi Evans in this role. I just feel that she would have been a better Krystal. And also I can just imagine her in scenes with David Canary, Michael Knight, and esp. with Vincent Irizarry. It would have been great, and magical. As I said I feel that Bobbie Eakes is wonderful, but just feel that Judi Evans would have been better.

One Life To Live

I don't like most of the characters on the show right now, so this one has been a hard one. The only big change that I can think of that should be made but should have been made long ago. And that is that Michael Easton should have been Todd instead of John. He should have been forced to take the role of Todd instead of getting a new character. I think the show would have been a lot better. I think I could have dealt with Easton as Todd - a character I know rather than the show being dominated by a character I care nothing for and don't know.

General Hospital

My number one choice right now would be to recast Kirsten Storms. My #1 choice right now would be Jessica Dunphy. She needs to be back in soaps. And I think she would probably be good as Maxie. My 2nd choice would be another ATWT former actress, Kristina Sisco.

Still thinking about Passions. Will get back to it.

All My Children - Nobody to recast, but I would get rid of a lot of characters.

General Hospital - Unrecast Maxie, dropping Kirsten Storms and her pie face, and bring back Robyn Richards.

I think you mean Y&R. Wasn't she Angelica on Days for bit back in the day? Maybe they should cast one of the other Angelica's in the role? Jane Elliot? I did like Joan van Ark though.

But since Cady is not available I would love to see Noelle Beck in the role.

Loved her on Loving. There's an old interview with her on the SOD website where she mentioned she would consider a NYc based soap. I'll let someone else find the link because I'm lazy

B&B: I don't like Ron Moss, but after all these years the familiarity of the character makes him Ridge and even if he was replaced with an oscar award winning actor, I'm not sure I would accept them as Ridge. If the had recasted 10 years ago, I would of said recast him with Justin Lazard from Central Park West.

I'd recast Briget Forrester. Ashley Jones' portrayal of Briget doesn't ring true with me. If they can't have someone of Jen Finnigan's calibre, they should write off the character. She is currently so pivotal, and every scene she is in is lifeless and brings down the othe actors/characters in it.

You know, you're probably right but I just can't imagine myself liking Easton in anything at this point, and I've somewhat warmed up to Trevor St. John in the role.

On amc I would replace babe with a goldfish.

ATWT....I think my choice would be the role of Jade. It's been six-plus months, and there's just nothing deep or substantial about Elena Goode's performance. She's just not the "bad girl to root for" that she should be. That could be a powerhouse role with the right performer. <ahem...it's exactly how Carly started, pretty unforgivable> EG is just boring in the role. "Honorable" mentions to Spencer Grammar, and nuCraig, who should get a quick hook if he doesn't work.

GL...Mandy Bruno as Marina. Just hate her, period.

B&B....Ashley Jones as Bridget. Too whiny. And I wince every time I look at her hair. It's dyed to within an inch of it's life just to make her look more like Brooke.

Y&R....caught nuBilly. Not impressed. Throw him back!

On ATWT, I'd recast Paul Ryan, ASAP. Roger Howarth just doesn't do it for me in the role; when he's supposed to be happy and in love, he comes across as smarmy and insincere, and when he's supposed to manipulative, he comes across as blank. I can't figure out what Emily OR Meg sees in him.

And I used to LOVE Paul, back in the day. But he needs more shades of grey and depth to him.

On GH, I would loveloveloveloveLOVE to see them recast Sam with someone who can ACT.

On General Hospital I would love them to recast Emily with Rebecca Budig. And the do a real Emily and Sonny love story. I think the story idea is sooooo good, but current Emily did not work with Sonny.

And I agree with the person above - no Sam!!! and No Rick!!!
